ping alone for fps games seems to make this service unviable.
Nevermind they will need to get servers in every county for ppl to use this service, not gonna work if someones in europe/middle east and the server is in the usa.
@greywulf
i do not own any of the consoles, hence it doesnt irritate me if ppl do play 360 exclusives on the pc. i am an exclusive pc gamer.
its funny when ps3 gamers come in say they will get the superior pc version when it comes to pc xbox multiplats.
when it comes to multiplats on all 3 platforms the same ppl will say they are getting the ps3 version. so why do they settle for the inferior version just because its on the ps3? it seems most of th...
seems most of you boast about getting the superior pc version over any pc xbox multiplat.. so why not for all multiplats.. pc versions still the superior version :P
i guess you are willing to compromise when it comes to the ps3.
i bet all the ps3 owners with pc.. will be getting the superior pc version.
ps3 isnt exactly upto the modern times either.
sure its in a better situation then the failbox, however ps3 comes equipped with a half decade old gpu itself.
yea but since most ps3 gamers already have pcs.
and pc version is superior and cheaper, there is little reason to introduce a ps3 version.
preordered with steam ;-)
i got simular latop too, which i use for my work and i use it to game on while i am traveling.
haha playing games @ 1080p 60fps while on the plane > beats everything lol.
Also it can be hooked up to to a hdmi tv and function just like a console.
I wirelessly connect the ps3 controller to my laptop to play from the couch at times.
600-800usd for a machine that really does everything is a bargain.
also consider. pc games are alot cheaper then console games. in the long run. games price alone make pc a better deal.
2yrs of gaming on the 600-800usd pc, will make the pc cheaper to game on then any console. plus gaming is not the onlything a pc can do.. there is a lot lot more to pcs.
pc version for sure.
superior and cheaper.
ali you forgot pc users dont need to pay additional per game as tax to sony or microsoft, plus the advantages Pandamobile just listed.
so let me see.. i just mentioned about half a dozen consoles.
with the space available in my room, there is no way i could get all that stuff in one place, operational at the sametime. It might work for some of you, i just dont see it being practicle maintaining so much old hardware. Also what happens when that old hardware fails, or that disk gets scratched?
Keeping old hardware, disks, cartridges, powersupplies, tv cables etc just doesnt cut it any more. I had ...
ps3 still charges alot more for its games compared to pc version, while being inferior, that still applies:P
but yea i agree ps3 is a far better bargain then the 360.
ps3 atleast has afew exclusives which would interest me, 360 none at all.
why keep so many boxes when pc does it all ;-)
i have emulated games from nes, snes, n64, ps1, ps2, wii, arcade games running on my pc. No point keeping old boxes taking up precious space.
i use the ps3 wirelss controller to play most them.
25games bought in 2009.. all on steam :P
retail is dead. consoles are playing catch up just like usual.
the 360 and ps3 are pcs, which are completely under the control of their respective manufacturer.
They leave little to no control for the user. Its like being trapped with a system where games cost quite a bit more, hardware accessories are priced at a premium, online is charged. Its a complete milkfest. All they offer in return for the typical fanboy are afew exclusives per year, in return the user ends up paying much higher for the rest of the game experience.
...
dont think naughty dog made any impact when you compare it against the creation of Steam, which is the way forward for the industry.
about 5-10years from now consoles will probably become alot more like steam, with games selling DD upon release.
its sooooo exciting waiting for sold numbers on consoles amirite?
ps3 outselling the 360 will ensure i sleep well at night :P
pc gaming is their main market. they just port the game over to the 360 for easy money, which is something not possible with the ps3, hence they do not see it feasible to learn an all new architecture.
with fermi coming out soon, there should be a drop in price across the range. good for the consumer.
