not that i am a ps3 gamer far from it, pc gaming for life. Though i wouldnt count the above games as exclusive. The xbox list suddenly doesnt look strong anymore.

i would never compromise on the GPU of a system.
you can get a slower cpu and it wont matter. for example, you wanna save some money. go for a 2.5ghz cpu instead of a 2.8ghz thats cool.
however never for the sake of a mere 50usd.. would i get a lower end card. IMO budget on a gpu should be minimum 150usd. The minimum i would recommend would be a 4870ati or a gtx 260 nvidia. Those cards cost 150usd.
Anyone compromising on the gpu is on purpose butch...
I am not a console gamer. I game on pc. Hence i am niether biased toward microsoft or sony.
My findings are:
Microsoft has the worst business ethics in the industry, They ensure there is no competition so they can sell their accessories for a premium. Using competitive parts like wifi's or hard drives locks the console out. This is really sad, as long as a competitors accessory matches microsofts spec it should be allow to be used.

umm no thats where consoles fail.
the pc user has the option of playing at the same res as the console.. same fps etc.
however should the pc user chose for a lil extra money they may play the way its ment to be played.
so pc is versatile. and once the upgrade is done you are good to go for a further few more years. mean while games bought at cheaper prices more then make up for money spent on the little upgrades.

its a known fact even 3year old pcs outperform the ps3 in about every game.
Go check igns head to head, ign a console supportive website still uses 8800gtx as their gpu to test pc games. Pc claims victory over consoles in almost every head to head using that old hardware that alone is enough to demolish the myth of constant upgrades. IMO 8800gtx should be good till the end of this gen.

4years old is true unless you live under a rock 78xxgtx = ancient which is why the ps3 doesnt do 1080p in 90% of its releases.
making assumptions wont get your anywhere. i own over 60games on steam alone. its cool they will be playable in afew years time. cant say that for the ps3 can we? huge stack of unplayable games just like what happend to the ps2.
asides the 3 games you mentioned on the ps3 there isnt anything else worth mentioning, so why just for 3-5 game...

well not only are microsoft and sony in red still. With both of them in losses around the 2-4billion mark. These losses wont be recovered until the next gen, when they will end up making even more losses.
The ppl who play on consoles dont see how much extra they are spending on console games, would just be cheaper to game on a pc. Here is a list of my games purchases for the year 2009:

imo pc's strength of being an open platform which means its cheaper to game on, is also a its greatest weakness, there is no one with a marketing budget like microsoft or sony to hype the pc.

any pc multiplat will look better then the ps3 exclusives.
and you dont need a huge investment to make games run on high settings on the pc.
i could build you a 600usd pc that will run all the games on high.
btw everyone already has a pc, it needs a gpu upgrade to transform it to a gaming machine. guess what a gpu will run you about 150usd to sweep the floor with all consoles put together.
