Nice review! I'm looking forward to picking this title up for my trip next week. ;)
There are a lot of games that I have owned at one time or another that I wish I kept, for a number of the reasons in the article.
To be honest, it is a rather round-about way of doing things. But hey, whatever.
After my RPGs are done this month, I'll have to go on a GOW marathon, play the first two, then hit up this one. Not my favorite genre, but hey, might as well try to broaden out. ;)
Ohh, a Dark Cloud 3, now that I would like to see. ;)
Well done interview, as always!
I did the rubbing contacts with alcohol thing, but not the freezer thing. Ahhh, those were the days!
Too many shooters period. ;)
This all makes me feel old, but it also brings back mostly good memories of my younger, more carefree gaming days.
Looks good!
Agreed, but they have to have it available stand-alone, as well, because there are millions of Xbox 360s already out there and everyone is not going to want to buy a new console just for Natal.
I'd be interested in Natal if the price point was right for what I would use it for - namely just browsing the dashboard, Netflix, face/voice recognition to sign in/out various accounts, etc.
I doubt I'd be interested in any of the games that might come along for it, although I'm not passing judgement yet.
If they can learn something from MAG to make Socom 4, all the more power to them.
I frankly don't care what it got on IGN, I'm not playing it until I'm done with my RPGs. :)
Yeah, it is kind of hit or miss. I personally can look past a lot of the stuff, because I'm a fan of the genre, but I still feel the need to point it out in the review, for the sake of being truthful.
Probably would have gotten a 6.5-7.0 if it hadn't been for the option to have the Japanese language tracks and artwork on the PS3 version.
Next up: Call of Duty - The RPG.
It was fun to have such an energetic guest on the ShockCast. He makes me want to play these games I never would have thought to before, given my tastes. But hey, I'm open minded and willing to try just about anything if I have the time. ;)
I like dice, or die, is that plural? Have fun playing Battlefield in 3D!
@corneliuscrust: There we go, putting words in my mouth again. I never said there wasn't some awesome experiences on the PS3 at any point in time, I never said that it has to finish first to be a great console, nor did I ever discount it.
If you didn't notice, I started the whole article off talking about my love of RPGs, that was the context the article was framed in. I'm not going to be first in line to play Uncharted 2, GOW3 or MAG - even though those are quite likely some g...
When a game is heavily based on story like FFXIII, you gotta finish it for your review to even have any credibility.
