Personally, I'd love to see cute girls over fugly men any day of the week, I don't see why GameStop doesn't plaster their windows with girls.
Except, it isn't an American game, it's Japanese. There are plenty things still in it that Americans don't "get", but they didn't cut those. This goes for just about any game that is heavily influenced by Japanese culture. The trophies could have always been changed.
Agreed, there is a bias here. Also, I have to say, N4G gets way more traffic and, in turn, profit from a hot post from someone else's site (like DualShockers, BitBag, or wherever), than we get from them, so I would think these editorials, reviews, previews, videos, etc. would benefit them more by being on the front page and having people talk about them than hiding them somewhere else because they're not strictly "news".

@Pennywise: If you're talking strictest sense of the word "news" in your line, "There is no substance of news here", then sometimes you're right. Our podcast is largely an opinion piece. If you want news, why are you even looking at opinion pieces? This isn't a newscast. Most podcasts of this sort aren't. We might discuss the news, but it is all opinion on industry issues.

I beg to differ. I approve and comment on other stories. And the podcast is posted here because 1) we always post our podcasts here and 2) our reservations about N4G should be known by the general public. Just saying. :)

If you're looking for cheap used games, GameFly typically has great sales, but unless you're a member you have to pay for shipping, which sometimes negates the point of getting the game so cheap.

I agree. With crossover characters in the same genre it helps, as well, to possibly expose would-be fans of a game to it that wouldn't have otherwise known about it or cared much. If that makes any sense.
I used to be that way, back in my heavy WoW-raiding days. That was a while ago though, back between late vanilla WoW and early BC-era. I don't touch raiding with a 10-foot pole these days, for fear of a relapse.
Agreed. Some of the biggest highlights of my time with that MMO for me were the interactions I had with Asian players. If you'll allow a generalization, they're much nicer than Western players, for the most part.
I'm always cautious when it comes to these mash-up RPGs, but they usually all have at least some redeeming qualities. Going to keep my eye on this one.
If you're completely honest and objective in your reviews, you will never please everyone, unfortunately.
It isn't an easy job, as many people think, but if both reviewers and the readers use some common sense, it helps out everyone.
I think the more mature-looking Nier fits the style, tone and story of this game better, but I can't say I'm a fan of the need for Western games to feature protagonists tha look like they've been injected with steroids since birth.
Was never a fan of this genre back in the day, but it's nice to see games like these re-released in today's market.

I would imagine that GameStop isn't the only retailer not putting that game on the shelf, but the experiences I read were all GameStop.
