Completely agree. The VGAs are a joke in so many ways anyway...
Well, the two re-releases they've done so far (FFVII and FFVIII) have been confined to the PSN, so maybe they'll stay Sony exclusive if it's a downloadable title. If it's disc based, perhaps cross-platform is the way to go, since that route is more expensive to produce and ship.
Yeah, it's not really a matter of if they will make it, it's when will they let us know they're working on it. They darn well know they can make loads of cash off it.
I loved FFXII, maybe I'm in the minority...
Everyone else had moved on, but for RPG fans there were still some quality titles hitting the PS2, including FFXII and Persona 3 and 4, among others.
As far as FF and the article above goes, I do agree with the overall conclusion of the article, but I don't really think the stories in this particular franchise have suffered because of overdone visuals to the point of being horrible. There hasn't been a regular, numbered FF title to date that hasn't sucked me into the story, firs...
My prediction is GOW3 will wipe the floor with both of them, but Bayonetta will trounce on Dante's Inferno. I think the PS3 crowd will embrace Bayonetta more than the 360 crowd, simply because Sony's system seems to be the more Japanese-style-centric system of the two.
Out of the three demos, I only played two - Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno. This is coming from someone who is fairly objective when it comes to action titles like this, because I haven't played too many and am no...
That picture indeed cracks me up whenever I see it. ;)
It's a JRPG, asking if it has much of a story is like asking the sun if it's hot. Whether the story is good or not is another thing altogether...
Although, I'm liking what I've heard so far about the story for sure.
Can't wait to get my hands on the final release English version...have to wait a bit longer though.
Seems interesting, although I'm quite certain I will suck at it.
Yes and no, depends who the target audience is! ;)
What I mind is marketing a title based solely on sex appeal or fan service. What I don't mind is having those aspects included in a title that proves itself worthy in other ways and doesn't focus completely on those aspects.
Hey, I enjoyed the first Assassin's Creed! ;) It did get repetitive very fast, though. As for the VGAs, I was pretty much laughing the whole time I was watching them. I'd like to see more personalities from the gaming industry itself - publishers, developers, voice actors. Also, more of a world-wide influence. They should call the show the Western VGAs, because that's pretty much what it was besides the few Nintendo games that got in there.
Haven't played a wrestling game in my life, but I agree.
It always seems that the more hype that is built up around a game the more gamers are let down by it. Not to saythat they don't enjoy it, especially if they've been looking forward to it for years, bu they may not enjoy it as much.
I'm sure it's pretty bad, but I'm wondering if all the attention this game is getting and it's popularity are making things seem worse than it really should be.
I kind of want to play the PSOne Grandia, I hear it's on the Japanese PSN, maybe one day they'll bring it here.
I love Mega Man...brings back childhood memories...
That's why I stick to good single player games! :)
I kind of feel the same way, although I do like some true RPGs with action-based battle systems.
Also, doesn't mean I don't like stuff like Mass Effect or Borderlands, I'm just against the idea of labeling them RPGs. (Although, to be fair, Mass Effect has way more RPG elements than all the games that were mentioned in this article.)
