I don't think that's plausible. It would cost them a crap ton of money to just throw out every copy they already made.
They'll probably just hold the game until a patch is made, and then release it. People will be forced to download the patch if they want to play online. Problem solved.

Also, I can't find any multiplayer videos for this game. It's coming out next week for fudges sake, and I don't know anything about the multiplayer. I was pretty devastated to hear co-op wasn't available in this game too. I mean, it's practically perfect for it. Hopefully the multiplayer is decent or I probably won't be getting it.

Is there truth to it, or was it just Kotaku immediately posting something they did no research on...again? I can't imagine the shortage being that wide spread, especially since the game was made in Europe for fudges sakes.

Quick on the draw much? Nothing he said isn't true. The Wii isn't a real competitor to the 360 or PS3. They target different markets. I tend to think bluray will succeed. Digital Downloads will likely take over DVD, but people will still want high quality movies that they can actually own.
Personally, I'd rather own bluray discs then HDD space that eventually deletes, or has to be deleted eventually to make space. I'll be damned if I pay x dollars every time I want to re-watch Blade Runner. And I'm definitley not buying a hard copy of Indiana Jones 4. See how it works out?

Honestly I'll probably only be getting Street Fighter 2 HD, if even that. Of course, fighters aren't my favorite genre.
Maybe you want to meet up with some people first, and then go into a Socom game. Maybe you meet someone in Home playing chess and decide to play Socom after. Maybe you want to form a party of people that aren't in your friends list. Socom could even have a Warhawk like Home space that lets you brainstorm strategies for each map.

Yeah, Web of Shadows should definitley be on the list. There are too many other games for it to do well. I definitley want it, but I don't have the cash and it's a title that could go either way in reviews at this point.

On the other hand, a lot of people really enjoy the MGS series. The story is really enjoyable if you know what happened in the other games. For a video game I think it's really good. Would you like me to compare it with the story of Gears, for example? Games aren't known to have good plots, and MGS has always delivered on that aspect.

I'm sure it's possible, there would just have to be compromises (diminished audio/video quality, etc). Of course, all of that would take development time so even if this were true it wouldn't be out for the 360 until some time next year.
By then it wouldn't matter if the 360 got it or not. I'm sure a few people would buy it for the 360 but it wouldn't move any consoles. It makes no sense for Konami or MS to do this. Neither benefit at this point.
