you can't critique a game here w/o being labeled some fanboy of some company. Clever is absolutely correct. The screen tearing was annoying. Otherwise, it was perfect. A great story with good pacing, believable characters and superb dialogue, anyone who owns a PS3 owes it to himself to play this game. It's like playing a Hollywood blockbuster but without the cheese. And yes I too hope ND has optimized the engine and removed the tearing in U2.
I respectfully disagree. Before PS1, historically only one console attempted to appeal to casuals - the Atari 2600. I don't think we need a history lesson there. Check out the lifetime sales of all the consoles between the NES and the Wii, and only Sony's 1st two and N's latest offering garnered causal sales. The difference is the PS1/PS2 were marketed to the mature hardcore audience before attracting their gargantuan causal base. Singstar (2007) and other casual apps didn't appear til 6 year...
I hope the game receives good reviews. After seeing his humbleness and self-deprecating humor onstage at the GDC awards, you have to pull for the guy to get the sales recognition too.
As for Brutal Legend, I can almost picture the ending - remake Foreigner's Juke Box Hero w/ ole JB manning the vocals and a drunken Eddie knocking over the actual letters (in the credits) like they were stacked amps and speakers. Having JB/Eddie mo-capped flopping and flailing around like it was a T...
but you're right - I love the Dominion of DS9 and species 8472 from Voyager are the best new baddies (after TNG's Borg of course). Season1 & the original movies arrive on BR next month - WOOT gonna be a wallet buster!
You didn't help anyone there w/ your link - the 3rd article down on the front page is an article with a QUESTION mark.
if I wasn't so damn lazy, I'd photoshop Koller, Balmer, and Greenturd's heads on the 3 stooges and edit the song "D!ick in a box" from SNL in.
cause I hate any piece of tech that has the same color of the porcelain toilet (reminds me of those crusty college dorm days **cringes**). Just different strokes for different folks :)
of fanboy logic has blinded you to the fact that Nintendo was one of the first of many Japanese game developers who chose profit over passion. With every new handheld/console introduced, the big N has ported/remade/re-ported every piece of profitable code in their arsenal w/o improving it, opting for the quick buck as a substitute in place of a risky, new IP. So yes, I am curious to see what, if anything other than a color change, Nintendo has in store to help re-invigorate the pathetic Japan...
The BR release of his Kong Kong included the extended version.
it had when you said GeOW1/2 had a better story than KZ2. My 6 yr old writes better stories w/ crayons than the guys at Epic.
***SPOILER ALERT****
Example: Dom's 3yr search for his wife. After 1 1/2 games, he finally learns of his wife's whereabouts. He finds her a zombie. He agonizes over the only choice left for him. He does the unthinkable. "Arrgh, leave me alone Marcus, I need some time." Turns out he was right, only about 30 seconds of the cutscene.

We've hit a technological ceiling in regards to resolution (1080p), so just curious, are you expecting the big 3 to support PC resolutions in 2012? Should I start saving up my pennies for a monitor next gen? Am I looking at holographic disks and 2 terabyte HDDs?
No offense other than the usual jump in system RAM, there doesn't need to be a massive jump technologically since they're already HD consoles. There's BR drives which are 4x faster than the drive implemented in the PS3 al...
it's guy, not guy(s)....Al Gore FTW ;/
If I follow IW's progression (COD2-12hr,COD4-6hr) then MW2 will be a 3hr SP campaign. WOOT, but it'll be co-op! And will include a suicide bomber horde mode because IW never copies, they INSPIRE. It will have auto-aim so every noob gets at least one MVP. No dedicated servers too which means I'll never get to play 1/2 the maps. If it sells above 10 million copies, then I might get a map pack (the OP had the nerve to call out Bungie because they support the Halo community?). After the greatness...
Seems like one of those "you're damned if you do/don't" moments here. While I'd like to see J&D on the PS3 too, weren't people complaining in the past year about Sony's lack of support for the PSP? So now they actually give us a decent lineup this year and not ports, we're back to b#%&chin about the PS3! And for the record, it's a PSP title ported to the PS2 as a fan service like Size Matters (already there's alot of posts perforating here with this "PS2 stigma"). ...
So I knew F3 was going to be the same rush job. I actually closed so many Oblivion gates the game would freeze anytime I entered the quadrant above Anvil for the last gate (main quest soliciting help for the Bruma Gate). Anytime you see a review on a Bethesda title, just know that number is actually the score the game will receive once the game has been patched. And yes, they have no QA dept.
is you're taking the perspective of a "gamer" and not a CEO or executive. Their obligation is to make money for the company and its shareholders, not care about the their image to a small segment of the gaming community. Like I said earlier, this would've been a reactionary move based off early favorable impressions of the Wii. So yes no market share would've been lost.
I think you're giving far too much credit for motion control and its integration for core gaming. Whi...
...but I think Sibs is right. This price drop isn't geared for existing markets in as much as it's for emerging markets. Sony's hoping Chinese gamers will opt for the an official PS2@$99 instead of a flimsy government-sponsored knockoff Playbox@$69.
What I'd like to hear is your thoughts on one of my biggest criticisms of Sony this gen in regards to the PS2 and Wii. IMO Sony should've developed a motion controller when Wii sales initially exploded. And then proceed to include it ...
You insinuating another poster is a kid because he said something you don't agree with is laughable. He never even mentioned the Playstation brand in his post (just Wii and 360) and you fly off the tangent with a Sony rant. Look at Smack's post (8.1) and see how he refutes Lumbo's comment with some common sense. Just try to stick to points he actually makes and not wild, fabricated comments from your imagination.
ON TOPIC: Yes, I agree with both of you (point about shovelware). I...
I'm good :)
No way could Sony have afforded an exclusivity contract for EA's entire library. The formal announcement that the biggest 3rd party was forgoing sales on the DC platform and focusing instead on Sony and Nintendo (and later MS too) was the death knell for Sega in North America and the biggest market.
But good points...nevertheless it will always be a certain segment of the community that blames a certain company. The irony is nearly a decade later, it's that other company who's s...
