Cause this looks really good and hope it plays as well. I thought the summer months were supposed to be a "dry" season for gamers? A time to catch up on our backlogged libraries if you will. Almost sacrilegious to say this about ANY game, but I'm kinda glad Batman:AA was pushed back til September.
demo is friggin great. very little pop-in, absolutely no screen tearing, buttery smooth framerate. cole has 16 powers, 5 are secret & unavailable in demo, but each power can be upgraded 3 times. even the evil karma side has different upgrades per power. impressive graphics for a sandbox game. although demo is limited, it shows a ton of potential for what the full game is. I might even go so far as to say it may challenge Uncharted and KZ2 as Sony's best 1st party title.
EDIT:...
Koller, Balmer, Greenberg, Wada, and Reggie 1-5 (order irrelevant).
Rent this one. If you're an old comic book nerd who happens to like X-men as well, namely Wolverine, then buy this. I had heard this was a "M" game but it's almost surreal watching Wolverine slice limbs off, decapitating enemies, using environmental hazards to maim enemies, etc...I agree with early previews the camera sometimes is almost too far away from the brutality. It seems his moveset from XL/MUA has been faithfully recreated to this action game. Also it looks like the achieve...
As far as the core element of the game is concerned, you're right. I still play a game to simply enjoy and win it. But trophies do help to extend gameplay. I played through the SP portion of RFOM twice (initially and then once more right before R2 was released). I then won R2. But ya know what? I found myself playing sections of R2 over and over again, using different weapons and their secondary fire options for the trophies. I had a blast doing it and never realized that most of time playing...
Same boat here, I never owned an Xbox. As an informed consumer I read about the differences between the console versions and I avoided the PS2 ports. But you can snag all 4 games for $20 or less! The first 3 are backwards compatible and only $2.50-$3 apiece. With the exception of SMG, I have yet to play anything on the Wii that rivals CT (and Halo2) in graphical fidelity. I bought a used but mint copy of DA for another $10 - @Gamestop no less. All excellent games.
I like continui...
Unless Sony reveals the numbers at a later date, it's all speculation and conjecture right?
Thank you for what I've been saying for years. GIVE ME MY OWN DAMN CONTROL SCHEME! PCers have had this option for decades and I can't understand why console developers think they know better how I want to play their game. It's arrogance, it's pretentious, it's just BS. Example BF:BC - who the h e L L decided mapping the crouch function to the R3 was a sound idea? I don't claim to be developer or even an internet dev :), but isn't it a bigger waste of time and money to code 5 different control...
However, I'm just NOT excited that's it from SE. I've been watching their slow decline since the release of FF10.
1)X2 was an embarrassment
2)Other IPs like FM4 sucked (essentially HAZE's storyline but w/ mechs) compared to previous iterations
3)couldn't even finish the last DQ same cliched story as 90% of JRPGs
4)more remakes/ports less new IPs - hanhelds FTW whoopie
5)Every console release this gen has been lackluster; sub-standard quality & poor sales...
See that even furthers my point. So bad were the sales of 4 in Western regions, they decided it wasn't even worth the hassle of localization :)
FM3, along w/ Xenogears, were my favorites from square on the PS1. Who knew, that depending on your answer, the game would feature both perspectives of the main story. There was no right or wrong. I spent over 60 hrs on each side alone, fighting enemies who were once allies from the previous game save. Man awesome stuff, almost kinda like Castlevania:SotN with the mirror castle when you first discovered it. But alas, 4 featured a cheesy feel good story and seemingly limited gameplay. No incen...
guess you've made some new friends w/ your phantom disagrees. But you're 100% correct. Gamestops do have this demo on the new demo disk for their kiosks. The manager at my local one is a huge Batman nerd and has been gushing over this title for months. After trying the demo, it may end up indeed being the best comic book videogame in a LONG time. I never buy CEs, but that edition is just so sick with the batarang, I may have to splurge.
Let's hope the game you're looking for is indeed this game. All beat'em ups at their heart suffer from some repetition. But the sheer brutality and efficiency of Wolverine's attacks looks to up the visceral carnage to the point it may not matter. And from what I've read from various sites, this sounds more like a GOW clone than a MUA/XL rehash (although the XP system is similar). The game does carry an "M" rating too. Greg Miller from IGN had a decent hands-on preview earlier this m...
Know what you mean. After I got an Atari VCS for Xmas'78 - it's been 30 years of bliss. Except all the times I got rooked buying terrible games. No magazines no internet. Makes ya wonder how bad it would've been in GFW1 (great fanboy war) between Sega and Nintendo.
I see you're deflecting the question because you don't like the answer. As a multi-console owner, it is indeed a fact. I own 4 HDs (2 1080p and 2 720/1080i) and the interface is pixelated on both high end sets. And so is viewing pictures and wallpapers. Can't speak for anyone else but I have to use premium themes because the standard ones are grotesque looking.
Does it REALLY matter? No. The games are what matter the most obviously. Jaffe's always stated he plays his 360 quite a ...
I say go ahead and release'em. Metroid and RE4 have proven to me if done right, motion control can even add to the experience of core gaming, not just the simple and casual.
I love to read the piracy articles here. You're always bound to read some hair-brained excuses in the posts that follow. I love how ironic it is for thieves to spend $1500k on a gaming rig (initial cost), spend another $360-1000 annually for an ISP, and another $200 on storage mediums a year YET come here and say a $60 game is too expensive to justify stealing. The sense of entitlement here is overwhelming at times. I even had a poster here once PM me to argue that pedophilia should be legali...
EDIT: for a stupid article
Gamestop already has the voucher available - I got mine last Friday. Preorder for either the 360 or PS3, voucher code gives you early access (a 2 week exclusive period) to the demo. However you can't redeem the code as it isn't yet active until Wed/Thurs.
