Hmmn...guess I'm just old school then. If I can afford to spend a grand on a PC then I can afford to buy some games for it. That's like asking a Ferrari owner if he can afford the petrol to drive it. Besides Steam sales totally negate that point anyway. That is if ya have a little patience. *Cue Axel Rose's little whine
Totally sad too that 220k gamers need someone to tell them if a game is good.
Yes love the Tolkien universe too, brimming with excitement over playing it. And I got both sets of fingers and toes crossed over Sid Meier's Beyond Earth. If it's even half as good as Aplha Centauri, it's money well spent. I have to admit too, I'm really warming up to The Evil Within. My 17 year old has been obsessing over it the last month. We went to see the Black Keys/Cage the Elephant concert, and afterwards all he would talk about was that damn game lol.
I say this as a longtime supporter (PS1 launch buyer): how can anyone get overhyped for a Sony firmware update when they've shown a propensity for over promising and under delivering on them? I never minded in the past given that PSN was free. I never minded in the past because I knew Sony was a Japanese company, and in Japan, they're largely a mobile gaming community that has ignored online gaming until recently.
But you know what? PSN isn't free anymore. And I ...
The best predicter of future behavior is one's past behavior. To so casually dismiss this concept to further your argument makes you seem very short sighted.
Let me ask you, aside from Shadow Complex, can you name me one popular XBL Arcade title that didn't get a Steam release? It isn't the point that TitanFall, PvZ, Ori, etc... were from the onset coming to PC. It's the fact that outside Gears, Halo, and Forza EVERYTHING else has a very good chance of being ...
Ya mind linking the article about the 75% are kids? I'd find that a very curious read.
I noticed it was absent too. Gravity Rush, LBP vita, Tearaway, Unit 13, AC: Liberation, and Resistance: Burning Skies were all other titles MIA. The last title I realize is completely mediocre but I included it as I noticed strangely Sony is supporting the PSP Resistance. The only point in buying a PSTV for me was playing these reail copies I owned on the big screen. Guess they felt like sparing my wallet of another benny. Thanks Sony!
lulz +1 for being good natured :) I'm just joshin with ya. Really I'm so totally sick of this nonsense. In reality, it didn't stop PS3 gamers from buying 3rd party games last gen and it'll be no different this time around with Xboxers.
Well you could do your part and just tell the rest of us Xbox1 owners we should expect this the entire gen.
"The Cell isnt the magic bean Sony claimed it would be. It is too different from standard programing. You can call the developers lazy if you want..but the reality is Sony has made a chip that will for the most part only be used in their TV's. PC's manufacturers aren't picking this up and that right there tells you that forever more the PS3 will always...
A little advice amigo. Don't waste another precious second of your life arguing over review scores. They're nothing more than an opinion that's not your own. Sheep who blindly treat Metacritic as gospel are a lost cause. In this day and age of internet previews, let's play videos, demos, betas, magazines, and your own intuition, there is absolutely no reason someone shouldn't be able to make up their own mind. If anything, poor reviews should help one formulate WHEN they p...
I love articles like these. People show their bias when they defend erroneous statements. Fact is exclusive content does not make for an exclusive game. Did you see Xbox fans parading around Tomb Raider Underworld and Dead Rising 2 as exclusives because of exclusive DLC? Or what about Sony fans with Assassin's Creed and Batman? IF we apply the same level of consistency, then Smash and Sonic aren't exclusives. Much the same way FH2 and LBP3 aren't as well. Captain Toad has been off...
@ Scotty
Absolutely. Remember, other platform owners will still have to pay. It might not entice the average N4G user, but if it helps Windows based smartphones and tablets gain market share against iOS and Androids then the move will have already paid dividends.
Concerning W9, what better way to illicit goodwill among consumers by including it with the new OS? I'd rather play Minecraft over Minesweeper any day, wouldn't you? We're talking potent...
I agree with you Summons if we restrict the discussion to the creation of content versus the acquisition of it. However, this isn't just about Xbox; it's about their mobile sector, the PC market and W9. It's about including a free copy with every purchase of their hardware and OS. Imagine a father equipped with the newest Nokia phone stuck in a far off hotel because of work logging in and playing with his two children on Xbox1. The wife even gets in on the action on her Surface. O...
Dark is right though about Bayonetta. It featured some of the best hack N slash action on last gen systems. Everything else was poorly conceived. From the hackneyed script featuring the worst token, stereotyped characters to the glaring technical issues exhibited on BOTH consoles (I played the 360 version and could literally induce V-sync problems in any non-combat portion at will), the game was completely overrated by Famitsu despite these failings. The fanboy controversy of course overshado...
I agree the way they handled the gravemind was poorly executed. But having a shadowy presence with an ulterior agenda was much needed to facilitate the story. That moment of clarity when the Arbitor realized they had been duped also brought faith into the equation and how blinding it can be in the face of the truth.
The large open areas you refer to in the original seemed very devoid of life to me, aside from a few patrols. The driving element felt like a glorified tutorial f...
I completely disagree about H2's SP being the weakest in the trilogy. For me Halo draws a lot of parallels to the original Star Wars saga. I find many games incorporate religion just in an effort to create controversy to sell copies. The message almost always rings hollow. Not the case with Bungie as the deification of the Halo rings were THE driving force of the entire story arc. I loved playing the Arbitor (love David Keith's VOs) and seeing the motives of the Covenant from a differ...
Good thing you don't need a XB1 to play Forza Horizons 2 this holiday. Or did the 360 version get cancelled and I missed the memo? Notice how Death above us omitted LBP3 because it's cross-platform with the PS3 yet leads with FH2.
That's how you're able to easily distinguish between fan and fanboy. You can't cherry pick the facts to suit your position; you have to apply an even layer of consistency in your argument.
Yeah it's because sony AND microsoft paid them! Proof positive right here folks. Seriously, you just won the internet with a comment like this. Must be why 4 other supposedly intelligent master racers agreed.
All your excuses validate only one thing - publishers like our money not us. How much do ya think sony AND microsoft paid Rockstar for Red Dead exclusivity? ElevenityKajillion billion dollars I bet! Least they saved us from a "downgraded" port. Whew *wipes ...
I've grown to hate Biscuit, and sadly not for anything he really does. I do take umbrage at his erroneous statements from time to time, but at the heart of the matter, like Jambola above us stated, it's when fellow gamers use his vids as gospel in steam sale threads. I wanna scream "you f$*#%^@ sheep you haven't even played the game. It's $2 bucks for Pete's sake! I've wasted more money on toilet paper after a heavy night of drinking and a late night run to Taco B...
@ Naroon
But ya see that's the problem with TotalNitwit, he doesn't use different play mechanics to properly flesh out his overviews. He spams the same mechanic over and over with diasterous results then slags the game for its failings. With the exception of Activision and their COD library, every PC game eventually goes to $5-7 anyaway. So how much money are ya really wasting?
I've said this before, don't be a sheep, be a wolf. Don't let ...
