Yep good ole licensing fees. Nothing like royalties to make billionaires out of former developers. Only 30% Gabe?
The only problem I had with this game was it pushed co-op, and in ultimately doing so, broke the experience. The game was was hella fun but became far too easy if a higher leveled friend joined ya. They could backtrack to complete missions they previously did with you but had overpowered weapons and thus DL became a running sim. I had to play SP by my lonesome and pack away any weapons my friends insisted I take. It was real fun having to run away from the virals at night, not slaughter 20 o...
nope skratchy, original Tomb Raider launched a month earlier on Saturn. It never was a 3rd party exclusive. It gained all its popularity on PS1 for sure and became synonymous with Sony platforms but technically appeared on Sega's console first.
The guy getting chomped on probably worked for a "family". Has a Four Brothers vibe to it.
EDIT: Just watched the other vid. We'll have to see more. Gameplay looked decent. Dunno about the storyline though
What do you expect them to do though? They can't use the "multi-plats run better" angle like last gen. It makes zero business sense to continue paying for "3rd party exclusives" due to escalating costs. MS is only doing what we wanted them to do since 2005; invest in 1st party exclusives. And now we're negging them for it? I think it's great!
Death
You can't be this fucking dense can you? I omitted Gears 4 because it doesn't drop until 2016. Gears Ultimate is on PC as well as the 1st Gears. I don't champion timed exclusivity. Should we now start counting remade cutscenes or content you didn't get to play because it was only on the PC as exclusives? Halo5 and Forza6 aren't out YET, ergo they're not included. Once they release we absolutely will count them.
" It's a ...
sigh....from Merriam Webster:
exclusive - a) limiting or limited to possession, control, or use by a single individual or group
b) an exclusive right (as to sell a particular product in a certain area)
known synonyms - sole, single, unshared
Doesn't matter if a gamer doesn't want to, can't afford to, or doesn't have the time to; whatever the reason it doesn't make PC (and 7th gen) ports irrelevant to the "excl...
He didn't work on the NES port though. Ya see that's the problem. Both the original MGS games were developed by Kojima for the MSX/2 consoles and ported by a separate team at Konami (just like Twin Snakes). He's publicly shown his disdain for all the various Nintendo ports at various times in his career. This is a great hypothetical question and fun to speculate on but frankly, next to Kojima joining MS, is probably the least likely scenario occurring.
it'll never happen but I'd love to see a mafia game based on Youngstown, Ohio. Originally, a meeting place halfway in the middle for the Chicago and New York city families, it rose to prominence in the 60s for the all out blood feud between the Cleveland and Pittsburgh mob capos. The Saturday Evening Post dubbed Youngstown "Crimetown USA" in 1963 and Time magazine once referred to it as "the most corrupt city in America".
I doubt it. Destiny 2 will probably be announced by mid 2016 with a spring/summer 2017 launch the earliest. Last gen systems, 360 and PS3, will be 12 and 11 years old respectively by then.
Plus, as an example, Bungie's Rob Adams admitted they had removed nearly half of the Cosmodrome's hangar size due to last gen systems. Who knows how much content had to be stripped away to make it work.
Given the amount of justifiable criticism over the paltry con...
I agree it was unnecessary but there is some veracity to his post. Do you think TR possibly could get buried by the avalanche of AAA holiday flagship IPs like Star Wars or Fallout4 from other publishers? IPs such as Halo5, COD BO3, and the latest AC could garner the lion's share of attention from the Xbox community as well. Not to mention Forza looks great too. There is a lot of competition come the holidays and I think if TR was launched in September the IP would enjoy a ton more sales. ...
plus Wild, Firewatch, Edith Finch, and the Witness (timed). I love puzzle games so I included it for the press.
" once the XB1 actually get games made using the API the system was designed to be used for and not an old outdated API that the CPU/GPU weren't really created for."
lol and whose fault is that? All I've seen this whole generation is fanboys making excuses. What, did Sony release the PS4 a year too early and throw a monkeywrench into MS' master plan? Maybe instead of EA filling their heads with visions of sugar plums dancing, MS should've had their f...
Doesn't matter if XB1 is cheaper, dropped Kinect, and offers more exclusives. The biggest hurdle MS has to overcome is the public's perception that XB1 is an inferior product compared to what Sony is offering. Having more alleged exclusives is nice but is completely negated everytime a DF article deduces the XB1 port of a multi-plat is running at a lower rez. John Q. Public may not be able to see the difference between 900p upscaled and native 1080p but they sure as hell can read and ...
Nope surprise surprise PC version was shit too. I own it. It suffers from a memory leak that makes the game grind to single digit frames after a couple hours of playtime. I took as a sign from God and uninstalled it.
Simply put, Activision is just up to their old tricks again. They also re-released Deadpool on PC for $40. Here most of us thought Acti lost the license like the Bond IP. Nope, they were plainly salty no one was paying an obscene amount for such mediocre output a...
yep but I do expect it to stay exclusive in Japan. Makes no sense to release it there on a console with a user base of 53k (much like it makes zero sense to exclude a XB1 port in the West).
EDIT: I am using current LT numbers. Even if it slips to Fall 2018, the install base won't exceed 100-120k. With a 20% attach rate for the IP, we're only looking at 20-25k tops sales-wise
"I heard that Sony takes 70%."
You actually believe that? Console Manufacturers take roughly $7 (11%) per $60 game. Pfft 70% lol. Like Activision or EA would pay Sony $42 for every title they sold on a Playstation. No way does Valve even charge 30%.
I hope we see more of this, Tomorrow Children, Witness, and Wild.
Ya ever notice it's always the same 20 fuckin one-bubbled retards who argue in these articles over console superiority? All of em too stupid to understand what the word "exclusive" really means. They try to attach silly exceptions to this rule like console, brand, and platform exclusive to prove an imaginary point.
Fact is both companies have so little in terms of true exclusive content this argument isn't worth the oxygen expended. The irony is the one con...
Nice pic. Great band. If you like older psychedelic heavy rock, give a listen to Druid. They're a band from my homestate that I've listened to their debut self-titled album through its entirety over 50 times now. I haven't done this with an album since the 90s. Moonlight in Ares might be the best instrumental I've heard the last 10 years.
Seriously, if anyone loves old Sabbath I owe it to ya to tell ya about these guys. They also released an EP, Paper Squares,...
