You care to show me any evidence of people buying W10 exclusives en masse on PC? Lol I just checked the store and they're selling Duke Nukem Forever @ $29.99. I can provide many titles as examples of their egregious pricing. And furthermore, we don't pay for services like Xbox live gold. I, like many of my PC brethren, have purchased many MS games off Steam. Locking games behind a paywall doesn't instill confidence that it's any different from G4WL. I refrained from buying Q...

I disagree. The Neo, unlike XB1 S, is a tangible upgrade to the existing model. I see it as a way for Sony to future proof the PS4 WHEN they release the PS5 in 2019. Everything should be backwards compatiblle since both MS and Sony adopted x86 arhictecture anyway. Although the original model can handle PSVR, no doubt it plays a large part in the existence of the NEO. Sony and MS will both silently phase out the launch models, and moving forward only Sony can provide a cheap VR experience to...

no because in the long term strategy, Neo is comparable to the XB1 S. It's a mid-gen upgrade and successor to the PS4 when the PS5 launches 2018/19. It's not meant to be a next gen console like Scorpio. XB1 is a 1.31 TF console and Scorpio will be a 6TF one. That power disparity alone tells us this much. I know you're not confused by all this backwards compatibility nonsense. That was the whole point to both MS and Sony moving to x86 architecture this gen in the 1st place: price ...

MS is almost as bad. Wonder why you just singled out Sony?

I find it very amusing you desperately defend one MS device and disparage another. The delicious irony.

it really is lame. I know it was too late to change, but after the chopper and this, they really need to learn the concept of having vehicles serve as bosses died out in the early 90's....and thankfully so

console exclusive* - oxymoron created by butthurt console fantards who can't accept their platform of choice has little "exclusive" content. QB, KI, and a plethora of others are not exclusives if one doesn't need to purchase an XB1 to play them. Just the way GOW3, tLoU, & Tearaway aren't either.

No where do I state any of these games are bad and being multiplatform diminishes their fun factor. I just have to laugh at this insipid counterpoint any tim...

the update is an improvement but it feels more like destiny's setup with the gear score. The 1st incursion, difficulty-wise, lies somewhere between a Daily and the Challenge. AI is lvl 32 but closer to daily in attack & defense. It's possible to solo it with lvl 31 gear (pre-patch). High end crafting recipes take 15 blues instead of 5. The only thing I wished they hadn't done was tie-in Dark Zone assignments as part of the weekly. The 30 phoenix credits could help SP gamers ge...

no the real problem is some console gamers have unrealistic expectations. If any sane person thinks about it, there was NO way a $400 machine could achieve 1080p/60fps level of consistency in modern gaming. I and many other gamers with PCs stated this several times before gen 8 started. People hear what they want to hear.

Don't expect 4k gaming next gen either. Probably closer to 1440p/30-60fps upscaled for UHD and supersampled for 1080p sets. Movies yes but gaming...

no way to solo the daily until you've amassed a substantial arsenal of gold gear. Even then, those lvl 32 yellows ain't messin around. Every mission I've done so far has several shotgun mobs rush you with grenadiers endlessly lobbing nades at you right at the beginning. If you leave the mission perimeter it resets all the mobs. It took two of us last night with the critical special in sequence to dispatch them.

he's right. why get so defensive over it? "was outselling the PS3 IN US"...nowhere did he state globally. MS out sold Sony and Nintendo in NA last gen.

Combat was a strength of Destiny too. I think the Division has an awful story. The co-op experience, while enjoyable, manages to completely kill what little immersion it creates. I don't find the AI particularly engaging since it does the exact same routine on normal as hard. The difference being apparently all looters in a not-too-distant-future-NYC wear red hoodies with kevlar. Missions have the same repetitiveness we all grew to loathe in Destiny.

It's safe to sa...

I'm never in favor of a company being replaced by a bigger, more monolithic conglomerate. Vivendi sucks. I was glad to see Activision gain its independence when they left the market the first time. Now they're back. I wonder why? Methinks this will be one of those "grass isn't always greener on the other side" kinda moments.

EDIT: not that I love ubisoft or anything but gaming is the sole focus of the company. Where do you think gaming is on Vivendi'...

You're argument is correct but severely flawed. There is no way in hell a PC gamer would've paid $60 for SW. It was going for $35 pre-launch on CDkeys. Origin also made Star Wars free over the weekend not too long ago as well. No need to use Redbox.

Yes, there are folks who prefer consoles over PC for a variety of reasons. Just not the ones you listed.

Put the games on SD cards like the handheld sector. Both current sytems from Sony and MS only use BR as a delivery mechanism for content. The games install onto HDDs and are played from there. Huge games like vanilla Skyrim on PC use less than 10gig. These console manufacturers like to use HD audio, extra language packs, and uncompressed cut scenes to artificially bloat the file sizes in order to sell us consumers upgraded SKUs/deluxe models later. 32 gig cards are dirt cheap and I'd much...

Console gaming is smoke and mirrors. Been that way the last 15 years. You been livin under a rock? Or under all that smug, hipster pretentiousness perhaps?

That 35.9 million number were number of actual units in consumers' hands, not sold to retailers. I'm fairly certain all the console manufacturers have sold through numbers at their disposal. It's not at all like you suggest. Retail vendors are extremely transparent with their sales data to manufacturers. They wouldn't be in business together otherwise. Goodyear tires are no longer sold at Sears because of their corporate subterfuge. Sony doesn't need to know how much Pepsi...

Most the original talent responsible for Crash and Jak is gone though. I think the current naughty dog teams need to stick to what they do best; make mature, cinematic experiences. Perhaps judging by Insomniac's work on the newest R&C, they would be a good candidate for a Crash revival. Maybe come full circle, have Mark Cerny get onboard and consult on the project like the original days at Universal.

What I want NX to be:

TL;DR version - 2 systems that run the same software. Handheld 720p/60 FPS on a 5" screen, Console 900p/60FPS. Nintendo fares exceptionally well in the retail sector when they factor in pricing. So don't expect an uber system that costs an arm and a leg. Battlefield and Battlefront look good enough on PS4 at 900p. Handheld to be released spring 2017 at $169 and the console Fall 2017 at $249. Console will include a standard wireless gamepad and a...
