you didn't even answer my question dumbass. Yes I know the Wii won the 7th gen. Apparently you missed the memo - the Wii sold the most units EVER during its first 3 years on the market, of ANY console! It finished 56 million behind the PS2. Guess judging by your screen name I'll have to S-P-E-L-L things out for you
So was the Wii after 3 years. How'd that turn out?
3rd parties sell extremely well? WTF are you smoking? I JUST TOLD YOU THE BEST SELLING NON-NINTENDO GAME IS AROUND 1.25 MILLION. That's pathetic for a console sitting at 61 million users. Nintendo consoles are for selling Nintendo games. Lol, Skyrim PSVR sold more copies than Skyrim on Switch
awesome numbers but Nintendo 1st party always dwarves 3rd party. There's no competition. Been like this since the Gamecube. Nintendo hardware exists to sell Nintendo software. Context is important. Compare the numbers versus Wii or DS to gauge how healthy the platform is.
FYI: What's the best selling 3rd party title on the Switch? MUA3 at 1.25 million. Now what's the biggest selling 3rd party IP on PS4? Give ya a hint - it sold a lot more than 1.25 mil. Lack o...
wait till MS starts making mobile games. Can't wait. That is IF MS can get casuals interested in xcloud and GamePass. But you go on believing they care about the 45 million of us X1 owners being able to play our games anywhere. It's almost cute
It's lame no matter how you slice n dice it. I imagine half of the brainstorming sessions at MS involve creating the new console and the other half making up cute PR slogans for its features/shortcomings. The worst part is how quick the fantards across the net adopt the terminology. Behold the new savior. It's like the last ten years' worth of incompetence never happened with these folk.
yes I would return and try Killzone SF. The chaps at Digtal Foundry got me intrigued because it's one of the few IPs from Sony that had dynamic resolution and an uncapped framerate. Meaning it could run at 4K/60 FPS without the need for a patch. You're right though, BC is overrated. Sony already provided the data ages ago with the PS3. However this is more of forward compatibility than simply BC so consoles are treading on ground usually reserved for PCs.
but is it really MS's fault for trying? Honestly, I would lay the blame at Sega's feet for the Yakuza situation. Square learned the hard way. And that was a western IP from their best western developer. So I don't blame MS but rather Japanese devs/pubs who make these short-sighted deals. I do wish MS would create new studios like the Initiative rather than purchase 3rd parties - but that also holds true for the other 2 platform holders.
Not gonna mince words ab...
Sure can. If Xcloud can stream next gen games to phones why not to an Xbox 1?
"I thought PS has so many games to play so you have no time for commenting"
Guess that's the reason why most Xbots on this site have multiple accounts then. Thanks for explaining it to me!
MLB the Show will release next spring on PS4. We know it will become a multiplat but technically it IS a first party title from Sony coming after GoT to the PS4
But how many keep playing it? How many uninstalled it? How many actual purchases did trying it on GP lead to? This is simply providing PR with almost nothing to substantiate it. By the same token could someone say that since GP has 10 million subscribers that 90% of Xbox fans don't care about it? I personally find it amusing with all the fantastic IPs out there we're still talking about this game.
We're not talking normal 2K vs. 4K. The UE5 demo used a form of temporal aliasing that rendered a 1440p image indistinguishable from 4K. The chaps at DF had to zoom to 400% to notice the minute differences in the upscaled image versus the native one. I seriously doubt with out this, ray tracing would even be possible on the next gen consoles.
EDIT: at least not without serious concessions
The Wii sold 101 million.
PS3 sold 88 million
360 sold 87 million.
By 2011 the Wii fad was over. The HD twins gained some momentum during the second half of the generation; Sony via software and 360 via peripheral (Kinect in 2010). But neither was enough to offset Nintendo's commanding lead. While the PS3 did manage to outsell the 360 in the end, it had lost the dominant marketshare the PS2 held. Financially, it was their worst performing device. But ...
That song and the sackboy theme were some of the best audio that came from the reveal.

there's something to this. Why Horizon and not God of War, Spiderman, or Last of Us? Is Sony positioning Decima as a gateway engine to PS5/PC exclusivity development? Entice more second party content through kickbacks and marketing via Epic's UE. Or are they merely testing the waters? To gauge the interest and sales of porting 3 year old software as a litmus test for a revamped PSNow. Curious to see what becomes of this.
ahh you mean like in 2018 when Sony made more than MS AND Ninty combined? It was all due to Plus and PSNow. Gotcha! Speaking of PC how many copies of Gears 5 did PC gamers buy to help inflate the numbers? Because I've yet to see any MS game benefit (saleswise) from launching on PC. MS hasn't had an internally produced IP sell more than 10 mil since Halo 3. GP cannibalizes software sales so the reality of MS making more revenue than Sony or Ninty is probably slim to none.
I agree with you. MS has done everything we've asked from the gaming community to ensure a better product and experience next gen. A console designed around gaming and not multimedia applications. Bought/created new studios to give their ecosystem new and unique experiences. Services are top notch, extending from their own hardware through a plethora of third party devices. I also believe MS will launch at an extremely fair price too; probably matching Sony but losing more on each unit so...
lol a Switch Pro is not coming in 2020. Sorry doc, no 4K support, no beefier components.....definitely no $400 price tag. Ninty's biggest problem isn't weaker hardware. It's actually the lack of HD content. They couldn't produce enough of it during the WiiU's run; ergo the console flopped. On the other hand the Switch is a handheld that's been immensely aided by a series of well-positioned WiiU ports. Nintendo has never had to address the issue. Moving forward, I expec...
Have you seen Apple's quarterly earnings? They couldn't care less. They make more in year off mobile than MS did all gen long in the console segment I love it. For Xcloud to succeed they need Apple's help. Oh the irony. Must be karma for barnacle billy stealing the OS Lisa all those years ago. Wonder if the fanboys will say MS should buy them next?
