If we want VR to truly take off, then a joint venture is the next logical step. Sony, Valve, and Oculus all need to agree to some VR standardization for proper 3rd party support. PS3 was not a well designed system. It was haphazardly developed like the Sega Saturn, with MS forcing Sony to increase its RAM after its initial design phase. That entire behind the scenes fiasco has proved to be a huge benefit moving forward though. PS4 and now PS5 were developed to provide the most bang for the buck.
