retailers have been doing bundles since the PS2 days. I should know I bought an extra controller, memory card, and two games - Smuggler's Run and Summoner at launch. Is the practice shady? disagree Batz, Sony will continue to support the platform well into next year. Doesn't make sense to jettison such a massive install base so quickly. GOW, Horizon, and MLB the Show are perfect vehicles to drive home that point. As enthusiast gamers I share your disappointment in them not scrapping last gen versions. This should be the console they push in the Japanese market. Small yet powerful, and cheap enough to be a companion device to mobile. Very clever on MS' part - with xcloud it should be their most successful gen there.

A $600 console is a tough sell. The PS3 is the only Sony console I didn't buy at launch. They failed to properly market the console. People buy consoles to play games, not have an inexpensive Blu-Ray player. Sony sold just 8 million launch PS3s at $599. They sold another 80 million dropping BC and charging less for the revisions. $600 is a tough sell....

But he didn't leave on his accord right? He was fired by the Houser brothers for greed and petty jealousy. It was his team responsible for the online portion of GTA if I'm not mistaken. He was getting too much credit and they wanted to screw him out of the royalties for 5's massive online success.

@ Element - your counterpoint makes no sense because MS is CONTINUING the 1S (not to be confused with the Series S) and it's the weakest SKU available. The 1S doesn't have an SSD and Zen 2 either, and at 1.3 TF will assuredly hold back MS' games far more than the 1X.
So what's the point of the 1S moving forward the next 2 years? To stream to casuals with Xcloud and entice mobile gamers to purchase a console from 2013?

honestly Shaggy not trying to downplay the acquisition but all 3 of those IPs sold worse than previous iterations. Doom Eternal sold worse than the 2016 reboot, Wolf has gotten worse with each new sequel, and Prey was all but ignored. Dishonored 2 and Evil Within 2 are in the same situation as the 3 you mentioned. Elder and FO are the biggest IPs but 3-5 years out. Starfield is an unknown quantity.
