oh please, you're misdirecting your angst at Valve. Nintendo is the original greedmonger with their infamous seal of approval and highway robbery royalties. Hate royalties? You know who to blame.

Developers choose to sell their IPs on Steam. Nobody at Valve forces a gun to these people's heads. Remember what it was like back in 2003 to buy a PC game? Or 1993? I bet these devs do.

DJ you're so hung up on proving the max resolution of Series S you've missed the forest through the trees. Series S, while it can play new gen games, they perform with last gen specs. Series S should be doing everything that big brother can do, just at 1080/1440p. So in this instance 1080p/60 FPS.

As an example, Destiny 2's MP, Crucible, is unfair for PS4 owners going up against PS5 users. The FPS disparity is common in PC gaming but absolutely shouldn't ex...

Yeah Spice, that's the confusing part - the randomness of it. 3 games went to PC: one pre-negotiated, one most likely broke even, and one over performed. One IP was ported over in 8 months, another 2 years, and finally 3 years for the last. I just want them to announce their policy on the matter. Be consistent too. AND if this is the new norm, Sony better start releasing free upgrades to their legacy software on PS5, i.e. Days Gone receive a PS5 proper patch when the PC version drops. Who...

Still think Switch Too will hit the market in March 2023. Nintendo will be keen to avoid system fatigue. Like a blind squirrel or a broken clock, Michael Pachter was right about WiiU. Had it been called WiiHD and released in 2011 they would've capitalized on the Wii's success and the system would've fared much better. They waited till sales tapered off and by the time it actually released, Wii sales were non-existent.

"We had a project recently where we built some personalization engines, or recommendation engines, that we built for retail. It’s being used by Walmart to make consumer recommendations. We then tried to use the exact same tech in Minecraft, for example, and it turns out it’s way more effective. It does a pretty good job of making recommendations on the marketplace."

Great....so this where you went with the cloud huh MS? Hyping up cloud gaming so you can use improv...

Is that why the majority of advertising appears on Disney, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network? Nintendo in Japan caters to the entire family. In the States, not so much. But please continue to back up your assertions with anecdotal evidence. I find it inspirational!

it isn't. But it's indicative that most Xbox owners don't try anything outside their comfort zone. Whose fault is that? Look at all the cringey comments "I would've never tried it if it hadn't been on GP". It's like going to a buffet and eating only the chicken cause you're not sure you'll like anything else. Just plain silly. Expand your horizons & quit being cheap.

Well we'd like to compare next gen exclusives but that's like a 6th grader bullying a 3rd grader with special needs. Demon's Souls versus the Medium?

Not really fair because it's not 1st party. But it makes the entire situation look even worse.....

This is a great example of anecdotal evidence not being accurate of the situation though. Yes, the game was included as a PS5 plus freebie but also sold on PS4 and PC. Despite its inclusion, Bugsnax already outsold the studio's previous game, Octodad. Most of your criticisms I chalk up to the devs being a small indie studio or limitations of the open-world genre. Sorry you and especially your child didn't like it. The story's pacing was inconsistent and the multitude of fetch ques...

Yep love Alan Wake and they how they integrated the soundtrack between original scores from Poets with famous songs. Really underrated. Every song was perfectly fitted. Space Oddity also comes to mind. Love the scene at the farmhouse fighting the dark ones jamming out "Children of the Elder God". As for American Nightmare I enjoyed it too knowing it wasn't a sequel but a more action-packed expansion. Mr. Scratch was a great antagonist, played by Ilkka Villi and voiced by Matthe...

see that's my issue with Xcloud too. We don't know for certain if that's what MS is ultimately aiming for though. "If it's an alternative" is great. Extending ways for us to consume our digital hobby is fantastic but what of the other? Mobile dwarfs the traditional sector. You sure we won't see more Gears Pop than Gears 5 when they start courting the casuals? As seen with with the aforementioned IP, finding success in mobile isn't a sure thing either. You wa...

there's no more traditional consoles coming. Moving forward portability should be their main priority. Nintendo has had one successful product in the last 25 years in the traditional space. With mobile, they've never had a failing product. My bet - March 2023 Switch Too. They will be keen to support the Switch through 2022 but won't let it drag on like the Wii. Capitalize on what made the Switch great and get a successor out before hardware fatigue sets in. Launch with a new Mario...

Sega you make no sense. First you announce the IP is going multi-platform in order to reach new audiences. Great. Then you omit Steam/Epic? The sales you seek are not on Xbox. You put them on GP for chrissakes. Have you not paid enough attention to the sales of PC ports of Japanese developed games over the last decade? They have consistently outperformed sales expectations. If any of you younger gamers ever wonder why Sega left the hardware business, now you know why.

what like Sony with Spiderman Remastered? It's definitely going to be sold as a stand-alone. The Ultimate Edition includes a voucher code for it and evens plays without the Miles Morales disc.

Sony needs to do these patches for the majority of their PS4 output. Bloodborne and Until Dawn come to mind. Probably the best Souls game and the best walking sim tethered to last gen performance. While Insomniac's work on Spiderman is fantastic, I'll gladly take a simple ...

there ain't gonna be a Switch Pro. Next month marks year 4 on the market. It's selling extremely well, ergo no need. There's no technological hurdles that require a new model. Why waste R&D resources extending this gen when they could simply come out with a Switch Too in 2023? Nintendo doesn't have to re-invent the wheel this upcoming hardware cycle. Go the Super NES route. Don't extend the gen a couple years Nintendo - piggyback off Switch's success and elongate i...

Sony gets the lion's share - 70% as they are both developer and publisher. MS gets 30% as the platform holder. MLB probably gets royalties depending on total sales but the deal itself was negotiated long ago. They get licensing fees.

As for going multi-plat, great news. This is probably the only sports IP where the devs don't phone in annualized roster updates & charge $60. I AM curious about the pricing. Does Sony charge $70 though?

So what?! I've been platform agnostic the last 3 generations. If anything, I'm entitled to complain even more so. Due to GP, I don't feel like paying for any Xbox related software. That extends to 3rd parties as well. I won't buy it on any platform if the game appears on GP. Curious to know if anyone else feels this way. The suits at MS say otherwise. But I haven't bought one game on Xbox since GP. Why should I? I'm also highly critical of Nintendo because they've...

Funny I looked at the list and thought the exact opposite. I want 2 games. Can't believe after 4 years Nintendo is still meting out enhanced WiiU ports. But I suppose it's better than last year's output.

nope, not yet anyway. Not that I have a huge issue swapping data to an internal from an external but they definitely should revisit this policy - even if I have to buy an officially Sony licensed SSD down the road to PLAY games.
