The game industry is very much dying. In its current incarnation, at least. Digital distribution and independent publishing will change the landscape of the gaming industry even more than the advent of casual gaming with the launch of the Wii and 360.
The increasing controversy over EA is very indicative of this: EA is the largest publisher, and the least likely to remain in business after the industry "dies." That's why they've gotten increasingly shameless...
It's the size that bothers me. They're little more than demos. With the THREE Macross hybrid packs out there, there's more than enough content to make a full game. ~__~
It's not reasonable because "world war" is singular, implying a war on a single world.
Something like "Space War I" would be more appropriate. And if the language for the premise isn't quite up to snuff, what can we expect from the rest of the game?
I'd like to be able to sort content alphabetically. You know, the sort of basic functionality that should have been in the XMB since day 1.
I'd also like to be able to place PSP games in folders on my HDD so that the XMB looks like ass--you know, like I could last year before Sony REMOVED that bit of basic functionality.

There have been a ton. Maybe not on home consoles, but handhelds have seen a huge number of top-tier RPGs.
And who the hell thinks this Game of Thrones RPG will be anything more than vaguely mediocre? Even if the mechanics were well done, it'd still be too horridly constrained by the limited source material it covers for the story to have much meat to it.
And a release date 2 months off.
Generally speaking, games stuck in development limbo for as long as Versus... do not turn out well.
Meh. I feel worse about hoarding healing items in JRPGs and never--NEVER--using 'em.
Bioware did really drop the ball with the ending. Even if the indoctrination theory is true. All the indoctrination theory does is fix some of the plot holes and bad writing, it does nothing to solve the main problems of the ending--the complete lack of effect for player choices, and the lack of any epilog.
And it's probably not true. Do you really think any developer would make put a dialog choice near the end of the game where the player has a 66% chance of getting a BA...
I hope for the same... but, all things considered, I'd bet against it.

Kind of depends on the game. If it's got a lot of different skins IN the game, that's all well and good. But if it's like, say, Tales of Graces, and there are only a handful of in-game costumes, selling new ones at $8 a pop is NOT COOL.
Except it's not. It's a shit article written around a Todd Howard tweet from a couple weeks ago.
Actually, yeah, the ending does take away from that. None of the choices you make in ME1, ME2--or ME3, for that matter--have any consequence. This is completely antithetical to the core principles of the series.
So, yes, the last 30 minutes or so of ME3 ~do~ make the whole game suck.
If they make a game with Desmond as an assassin, I hope it's a separate game, and not part of these awesome historical titles.
That way I can not buy it.

Something that deserves to be said:
The chief issues with Shogun 2 have not been fixed, worst of all are the intolerably long turn times.
And second of all, the game goes out of its way to present the conflict in the vaguest of terms, ignoring the underlying causes of the "war" that make it such a compelling time in Japanese history.
I can only assume this was done to avoid alienating Western players who might take offense at seeing...
Don't bother. I bought it new on a whim (God knows why; I don't even like Bleach; I guess it was mostly for the cool art and promise of cool abilities). The game is ~awful~.
