I hated San Andreas back in the day. I'm sure the gameplay was fine, but the characters? Yikes. It was the first game I played, the first entertainment media I'd been exposed to, portraying "black culture," and the way it portrayed its black characters did nothing but engender disdain.
That's right: San Andreas tried to turn me into a racist.
Whoops. Guess that came from spending the last few hours of the morning re-installing Skyrim and about 100 different mods.
Just be glad I didn't say Black Isle.
EDIT: and are people disagreeing with me because of the typo, or are there people (read: morons) actually disagree with my objectively true points?
Eh, there are plenty of games I'd like to see on the PSN. Well, I say plenty, but I mean a few. Suikoden II on the PS1, Dragon Quests and Final Fantasies on the PS2, Star Oceans and the like on the PSP side of things.
But, really, PS2 classics aside, Sony has done a -really- good job with their PSN digital releases.
Nintendo, on the other hand... goddammit. The Virtual Console is just lacking so very much. I can kind of understand keeping the SNES stuff o...
I have a feeling we'll all be running around on holodecks before 4k TVs become a reality. As fidelity increases, improvements become less noticable.
Here, check out this handy resolution comparison image I made for my own use a few days ago.

I remember loving the game back in the day.
Then it got replaced by SSX. Man, SSX used to be awesome.
Since the latest SSX was such rubbish, maybe I ought to give 1080 another go. Has it aged well? I've got 1000+ CN points and none of the rewards are terribly appealing to me.
Not surprising. After being able to max it out w/ my old 4850, I remember checking out the lowest settings... while maybe not up to PS2 standards, on its lowest settings Diablo III certainly doesn't look like anything an original Xbox or Gamecube couldn't handle.
And, hell, apparently even an integrated Intel GPU can handle it.
Say what you will about Diablo III's myriad flaws, Bethesda really hit it out of the park in terms of optimization and ha...
Great analogy. Here's an idea for something I've been pushing since Demons Souls: a difficulty slider.
Those people who love 10,000 piece puzzles? Let them play the game on harder difficulties.
Those people who like 1,000 piece puzzles? Let them play their game, too. It wouldn't take much adjustment. Let them keep 10% of their souls after death, maybe boost their stat modifiers 5%.
It wouldn't take much work, wouldn't chan...
You, my fried, don't know what difficulty is.
Difficulty comes from the bosses. From the low HP stats, and the souls/death mechanic.
All Bonfires did was cut down (a lot) on the tedium of constantly playing through the same areas over and over. Their inclusion doesn't make the game any harder or easier, it just makes the game less annoying.
Which, really is what accessibility means--less annoying.
I could kind of see ...
Game development costs have not increased. They've actually decreased due to many reasons, including (but not-limited to) open-source software & content licensing. Back in the day, if you were making a game and wanted to put a tree somewhere... you had to build that tree from scratch. These days? You can find models of trees for use in games--both 2D and 3--which you can use for a fee.
And most games today use licensed technology. Heard of Unreal? Yeah.
Another crap review. Yes, Baldur's Gate is a great game. But BGEE suffers from an insane amount of crippling bugs.
You want a decent review of the game, check GameFAQs.

What you're describing isn't great. It's like a tedious version of the 1994 Internet.
I hope it's better paced than Nocturne. I'd spend upwards of 10 hours just fighting random battles.
Story & setting sound great. There's no word on an NA release yet, right? Given how long it's taking us to get Fire Emblem, this may be a 2014 or 2015 title.
78 is low?
Yeah, I know: opinions. It's just... you're is wrong.
Not the Epic Mickey 2 I played, that's for damned sure.
My favorite is that concept that so many male gamers have that it's impossible to empathize with female character. I mean, what with the ovaries and all.
And the periods.
Yeah, it's really hard to play Mass Effect as a Femshep because every other line is either her whining about it being 'that time of the month,' or talking to Samara about maxi pads.
Sounds familiar. I was off on the same thing a couple weeks ago.

It is good... but the puzzle logic is nearly as bad as in 999.
Good for the Japanese!
Now what about all those awesome Japanese games that either never cross the ocean, or do--but don't get any advertising or publicity, and get panned critically for being Japanese? Let's do something about that on our side of the puddle, eh?
Is this another one of those PC fanboy articles that tries to paint piracy as the PC's biggest strength?
Anyway, I feel sorry for PC fanboys. The golden era of PC gaming ended a long time ago, and most all of us PC gamers managed to get over that stupid "pride" thing and buy a console. Anyone who doesn't own a PS3 or NDS or PSP or something this gen. is really missing out on WAAAAAAAY too much to call themselves gamers.
The biggest 3DS RPG "You" (that is, the Western gaming market) doesn't know about is either Bravely Default or Dragon Quest VII.
Also, random gaming site hosting this article: hire an editor. Or two. Someone over there has no idea how to use tense. Title should be, "The Biggest 3DS RPG You Don't Know About," present tense.
Why? Because "Didn't" is past-tense, it means that the reader once did not know, but now DOES no...
