Garbage article w/ little attempt to disseminate information, no citation, on a site that looks like it was made in 1994 on geocities.

0/10.

Fact: Square-Enix has claimed that they're working on FFX HD for the PS3 and Vita.
Fact: They have released no news on the game AT ALL.
Fact: They have released no media for the game AT ALL.

I didn't buy the Wizard Edition because it was called the Wizard Edition.

Gave me flashbacks to the Phantom Menace.

*shudder*

Whoever clicked 'Disagree' really has some nerve, calling me a liar like that.

I love Conan, but have never played any of the games. Are they any good? Good enough to warrant suffering through all that icky kanji?

I don't think Persona 5 will come out in 2013, and I don't think SMT4 is going to come out in 2013 anywhere but Japan.

If we're very, very lucky, we might get Dragon Quest VII and Bravely Default this year.

Beyond that, I think the big RPGs are Breath of Fire (3DS) and Tales of Xillia (PS3).

Though I believe the new Divinity game is coming out this year, too, which has to potential to be the best PC RPG since the first Witcher gam...

For a moment there I was thinking Ni no Kuni was coming to Steam.

I don't really remember that effect. Maybe you had a display issue? Most games are set to 16:9 ratios, it's possible either DD or your own display was set to 16:10 instead, and may not have scaled (as most games do) resulting in a letterboxing effect.

Of course, most games DO scale, and several games--P4A comes to mind--have screen scaling issues, period.

This occurs because displays are nonstandard. Particularly in Japan, where--at least a few years ...

Let's see... the definitive versions of FF1 and FF2 are both on the GBA.

The definitive version of FF3 is on the NDS, but was ported to the PSP.

Definitive version of FF4 is on the PSP.

Definitive version of FF5 is on SNES.
Definitive version of FF6 is on GBA

VII-IX's definitive versions were on PS1.

X and XII were PS2-only.

XI's definitive version was PC.

Huh, still no comprehensive list, huh?

What is Square-Enix doing wrong? Let me count the ways.

They're focusing on projects that few people are excited about, like iOS ports of old DS games and Final Fantasy XIII episodes, while ignoring many ways to make -tons- of money off of content they've ALREADY produced. Let's list 'em out:

1. No Western localization of Final Fantasy Type-0
2. No localization of Bravely Default ...

It's a nice feature. I can only think of 2(?) other games that did something similar.

Star Trek Armada 2 was pretty much just a normal, generic Warcraft-style RTS... but there was a "cinematic" window in the corner of the UI with dynamic 3D camera movement, simulating the cinematic effects of the television series' (and movies). You could double-click it to go full-screen. It was a great way to make the passive, strategic combat a more engaging and visceral....

Thireen.

It's all good.

In its genre... maybe. But it has pretty stiff competition between Nier, Tales Of, Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea, to name a few.

I don't think anyone would argue it's THE BEST exclusive PS3 game, because there's really no such thing--the PS3, indeed, all Sony platforms suffer from having too many fantastic exclusives.

It's not like Nintendo, where you can point to Mario or Zelda and say, "THAT is THE game."

It'...

I just ordered the regular edition from Amazon because it's the most convenient, and free release-date shipping only sweetens the deal.

...I don't think you realize how big those Kamen Rider/SRW type games are in Japan.

@n4f: I'm just going to assume all of those "disagrees" came from people like you who, despite reading my post, didn't actually manage to comprehend any semblance of meaning from the words.

Are you possibly drunk? Or not a native-English speaker?

Either way, I've re-read my post and I think it's quite clear.

EDIT:
@THESHAUNZY: Wasn't ALttP the one that took place on the island, with the Wind Fish? Maybe I...

My guess would be:

Metal Gear
Persona
Gundam
Macross
Dragon Quest
Final Fantasy

There's always the potential for a nice, big feature on Dragon Quest VII's remake, or news on Versus XIII. And Macross 30 is coming out in less than two months, and hasn't really had a -big- magazine feature yet. Same for Gundam Breaker.

Of course, (as is obvious) I'm tackling this with a PS3 focus. It's ...

Why omit Yakuza, Yakuza 2, Yakuza: ZOMBIES!, and Yakuza Kenzan?

He may have been present.

But its quite clear his input was negligible at best.

Didn't you ever do any group projects in school? There's always -one- person who takes credit without doing any work. Johrn Romero is that person.

I still haven't finished the first one. How many are there?

And are we never going to get any of that Ragnarok Odyssey DLC, or did I miss that week?
