I believe this is based on the manga called "Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai." The manga was quite popular in Japan and was from the same artist/writer as the series "Beet the Vandal Buster." The artist/author was known as "Koji Inada." I remember reading his work back when I was a teenager. His art style resembled Akira Toriyama, so that's probably why he got hired for these Dragon Quest projects.
Unfortunately, I heard he died because...
I honestly don't think they'll ever go back to SlyCooper. I think SuckerPunch has moved on. Similar to how Naughty Dog has moved on from Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter. And similarly to how Insomniac Games moved on from Spyro (and maybe Ratchet&Clank series as well, as some fans claim). All these companies have moved on to bigger projects. One of the things that makes this trio of developers so amazing is that they're always challenging themselves. If they continued making...
The pressure for a better Karma system may be too challenging of a task. Could this be why SuckerPunch is hesitant on releasing a new inFamous game?
One of the most common complaints for inFamous 2nd Son was that the Karma system felt "outdated." If people wanted a more realistic Karma system, Sucker Punch would have to create multiple different cutscenes, choices, AI reactions, per player choice. For example, if you were to make a major decision early on in the g...
I remember reading somewhere a while back that the polygonal count for Kratos's model in GOW3 had more than 20,000 polygons. The PS2 model had only 5000 polygons. Man, how things change within just a span of a few years.
To this day, GOW3 is one of the best games I've ever played. I would classify it as top 10 best games of last gen.
Agreed. RE4 still holds up, despite being more than a decade old. Similar to the RE1, remake. Both still look and play great. No need to modernize them.
It's time for Capcom to take a break from remaking RE games and start remaking DinoCrisis
Just release the damn game for $30. Nobody wants a multiplayer RE game. And the ones that do, probably aren't fans of survival horror.
I beat this game numerous times back when I owned a 360 during my college years. It's around 7-8 hours long. For an FPS, that's standard length. It's a very well-paced campaign
Try PREY (2016). Its pretty much Bioshock in space (and it's a damn good Bioshock clone). And yes I know SystemShock is considered the original "Bioshock in space" but PREY is the better game.
To be honest, I hope it's not another game set in Rapture. I've played the heck out of the first and second games. Beaten them on the Xbox360 and PS4 remastered edition. I don't know if I can enjoy another game with the same enivronments. As much as I love the world building of Rapture, it's going to feel stale if it's done 3 games in a row.
Maybe you should actually READ the reviews and not just the scores. Even people who enjoyed the game the most hesitate when talking about the gameplay. Even the diehard fans admit the gameplay is "meh/boring." The only reason they enjoyed it was because of the glorified CGI cutscenes and storytelling. The actual gameplay was a tedious task.
People who decide to watch the cutscenes on Youtube instead will not miss out on anything significant. In fact, they'll probably g...
Are we also going to ignore all these "perfect scores" where reviewers say in the same breath that the gameplay is boring? Even the very people that enjoyed the game the most admit that the gameplay sucks. They admit they're only dreading through the tedious gameplay just to reach the cutscene checkpoint. The story/cutscenes are the only redeeming factor of this game.
This is your game of the year? LOL
What exactly is innovative about this game? The only positive qualities I see are storytelling and cutscenes. The gameplay is hardly innovative...
It all seems nice now, but in a few years, what if more games start doing the same? What if more AAA games use glorified CGI cutscenes as an excuse to compensate for boring gameplay? These awards shows are nice and all, but I really hope this damn game doesn't sway the industry into strictly "movie driven" games where cutscenes are the main selling point instead of gameplay. Don't get me wrong, I love my TellTale games, but I also love my AAA titles as well.
What an age we live in. A game where the actual "gameplay" is tedious, but people forgive it because of glorified CGI cutscenes. But don't take my word for it; most reviewers that gave the game a good score admit that the gameplay is boring. Instead of classifying the game as "not for everyone," why not just admit the gameplay is tedious and you're better off watching the cutscenes on youtube instead?
Why would you go through 50 hours of tedious ...
Death Stranding is best described as "don't buy the game, watch the cutscenes on youtube instead."
Because everyone who played it say the same exact thing "the gameplay was boring." So it seems to me that it's one of those games where people are putting up with 50 hours of tedious gameplay just to reach a glorified CGI cutscene. Most gameplay segments in DS are just boring, but players only endured it for the storytelling/cutscene checkpoints alo...
This is the most ridiculous non-sense I've heard in my life. You're telling me I have to train myself and put effort into getting used to VR just so I can enjoy it on a basic level? Nausea from VR is actually very common. It's not just a rare subset of people that experience this. I've been playing games my whole life through multiple console generations and never had problems with nausea or epilepsy, etc. But when I tried VR, I immediately felt like something was wrong. If VR...
But weed helps my nausea, unlike VR which does the opposite.
Halo Reach was the first game I got with my Xbox360, back when I was in college. To this day, it's one of the best and most polished FPS games I've ever played. Even though I sold my 360 several years back, I kept my copy of Halo Reach with me just in case I ever go to a friend's house that also own's a 360. I'm glad to see it finally coming out on PC. It's about time. Y'all are in for a treat.
Terra from Final Fantasy 6
I think they will likely re-do the whole series. The anime is pretty old, so if they want to bring in new audiences, they'll have to start from scratch. The manga is VERY long-running with over 50 volumes, so this will likely be a long-running anime.
