This is what I've been trying to say. Even if the gameplay mechanics and overall product of Days' Gone is good, it's still just another zombie apocalypse game at the end of the day. The industry is flooded with this concept. How many more zombie games do people need?
I would've loved to see the team tackle the open-world Resistance game they wanted to make. In the interviews it seems like they were actually passionate about the Resistance series lore and had...
Should've just made the open-world Resistance game.
Bend Studio is the only developer I trust for a Resistance sequel. Since Insomniac games have made it clear that they will no longer go back to the series, I think Bend Studio is the next best bet. They did a fantastic job with Resistance Retribution on the PSP. They perfectly captured the essence of what makes Resistance game "work."
Days Gone wasn't bad, it was actually great. But at the end of the day, it was just another zombie game. I think alien invasio...
I think it would've definitely turned out like Halo Infinite's campaign, which isn't a bad thing. The only problem I have with an open world Resistance is that it'd have to take place in one particular district/map.
One of the greatest joys of the Resistance series is the different locations the game takes you. The game drops the player in real historical locations over-run by a hostile/deadly alien force. I remember the hype leading up to every game, on the...
I've been playing the games for years! The Chimera were some of the most aesthetically cool-looking enemies I've ever faced in a video game. Out of every alien invasion fiction out there, I think the Chimera has the most fascinating interpretation of a hostile/deadly alien force. Love their technology too.
Some of my favourites would have to be the Titan, Widowmaker, Grims. God I love the designs. And the Howlers of the first game. The enemy variety would open up so...
As a huge fan of the series, an open-world Resistance would not be a bad idea. Especially if it had Day's Gone's gameplay engine. Replace the motorcycle with a military hummer or a chimeran vehicle. I think it could work very well.
The problem with continuing Resistance as a linear FPS game is that the market doesn't respond to those games anymore. I think the games industry is tired of 8 hour (linear-shooter) campaigns. That was acceptable in the PS3/360 days ...
I don't usually comment on N4G, so this is the first time I've logged in for a while. I'm probably one of the biggest Resistance fans on the internet. I say that with absolute confidence, I truly adore the series to death. Words can't describe the depression I've felt when Sony technically canceled the series in 2012. Reading the headline of this really brightened my day. For years, I've been hoping for a new Resistance game every year at E3, The VGA awards trailersx G...
The people complaining are just a bunch of fun-sponge Karens. It's like what the fuck do you expect from a Rockstar game? Its' like for people who complain about Tarantino films for having "gratuitous violence." Bro, it's a fucking Taraninto film, not a children's daycare. It's not for everyone, but there's always a few bad apples that try to ruin the fun for everyone else...
Well that's a stupid argument because violent crimes have been decreasing over the years since the late 80s. Meanwhile video games consumption has risen over the years. If video games truly caused violence tendencies, we'd see more violence.
Not to mention countries like Japan have the lowest rates of violence, meanwhile their children shows/comic books are have blood, beheadings, violence, mature subject matter in comparison to the American counterparts.
I remember these guys were the development team behind Singularity, which was pretty much a poor man's Bioshock. These developers had potential, it's a shame it was squandered and the team was settled for being co-devs for CoD games. It's a damn shame, would've loved to see Singularity2 sometime.
They deserved better, glad to see them walking out.
The game is trash.
The criticism of Infinite is way overblown. I think most people generally liked Infinite better, but it seems that a sub-section of the Bioshock fanbase preferred the first game. This is probably because Infinite played more like a shooter, rather than an action game. I didn't really find this a problem, as I think the shooting mechanics were absolutely fluid in Infinite. Some of my absolute favourite FPS gameplay mechanics ever made in a shooter.
The milking has begun. The series was intended to end after Bioshock Infinite's story DLC. I'm curious to see where things go without Ken Levine. Just thinking about Infinite gets me nostalgic, played it 7 years ago back when I was still in college. The series is very near and dear to my heart, and I'd hate to see it done wrong.
The funny thing is, BIoshock 2 didn't have ANY of the original developers from the first game, but that game was a miraculously faithful seq...
Stop putting words in his mouth, you disingenuous prick. He literally never said that in his comment. If you're going to argue, don't strawman people's arguments like a coward.
This is honestly the most bizarre shit I've heard in my life. In the games industry, you don't get hired because you're "white." You get hired based on what you can do for the company. The reason lots of whites work in the industry is because whites are the majority of North America. So obviously, you're going to see a disproportionate amount of whites in most industries within America. I swear, you woke people see racism in literally everything. I'm a minority m...
Hopefully if he decides to start his own company, it won't turn into another Mighty09 situation.
No wonder these people haven't made a good game in nearly forever. Focus on hiring talent, not skin color
When you got a hot load in your balls, you can use that to warm up the water. Our Samurai friend seems to have it down like a technique
To them, I'd say "no one owes you representation." Plus, I think it's ridiculous to focus on trans issues on a game about a zombie apocalypse. The whole trans-revolution is something you only see in the most privileged first world districts. 3rd world countries don't even have time for that stuff. So it's even more ridiculous when the world setting is a zombie apocalypse. I'm pretty sure trans-rights would be pretty low on the list of priorities in that setting. ...
Sony has a brutal habit of self-destructing its own IPs. If the sales records aren't insanely high, they will cancel the series as a whole. They did this with the Resistance series. Warhawk series is another one. There are many more examples. Absolutely no mercy :(
