"I have a 250 gig HD hooked up to my 360's USB port."

Everyone's totally amazed by PS3's prowess with hard drives... but as said, 360 actually does do it too. Just not by having an insecure internal drive that means homebrew and modding had already hit the console- literally- the day of its release.

Externals work fine. And doesn't compromise the core system. Kudos.

Let us page back a few years. Say, to about 2001. MAybe during the launch of a certain big black box called an "Xbox".

"Halo brings absolutely no innovation to the industry"

"Halo's plot is the same generic SciFi you've seen in shooters for a decade."

"The weapons in Halo are completely unoriginal- ooh, a Shotgun. Futuristic!"

"Halo's multiplayer lacks any innovation- all you'll see are st...

Just to confirm something I predicted a year ago...

During the PS3 launch, most media outlets are saying something like:
"The unit also hooks up to the high-definition TV screens that are becoming increasingly popular."

Back during the 360 launch, most media said that same thing, but in a slightly different way...
"To see your new game in all its glory, you're going to need a high definition television [...] the average price these da...

Standard disclaimer: HOW IS SONY GOING TO PAY FOR THIS?
-BluRay discs are much more expensive than 360's discs. Even on the scale of mass production, they're still taking a hit.
-PS3 is a LOT more expensive to develop for. While most companies cite a $20million+ investment to make a game on PS3, the team behind Gears of War recently cited a figure of $10mil to complete their game.

It's great that they pushed a solid price tag and all, but alongside other price cut...

Still mostly true. Your Friends list will be seperate, and you online identity will probably be handled differently by different games.

It's not as bad as he made it out to be, though. I still prefer Live, but hey, I'm biased.

Deer Hunter!?
I get that it seems like a bad idea, but the actual game was pretty fun. For a bargain-bin title, it's at least an interesting concept. Not to mention it has pick-up-and-play gameplay... you can load it up in an instant and play a round in only a few minutes.

Ah-well. There were some good mentions- like E.T. Then again, putting ET as the worst game ever is... well... a bit obvious.

You mean games releaed in the second year of a console's life don't tap that console's full power!?!?!?

STOP THE PRESSES!

Somebody needs to tell the console industry- this startling revalation could change the world!

(Seriously, people.)

Geo Wars: ~$4, under 50mb
PS3 competitor: ~$7, almost 100mb

Yup.

Wha? No games? If true, this basically confirms all the worst things fanboys could ever want to say about Sony.

How about....
"Fitting! All Sony's showed us from the PS3 thus far has been pre-rendered videos anyway..."

Or...
"yeah, it's all about the games- which is why all this unit does is play BluRay videos and nothing more."

How about...
"Play n3thing."

Everyone has to agree- shi...

Literally only yesterday, I was telling my girlfriend the thing Arcade needs most is Worms, and that I was going to email Team17 about doing it.

Wow.
Now here's just to hoping it's REAL 2d Worms, and not one of the crappy 3d titles they've tried to push on us recently. Worms: Armageddon, please!

-Games dropping to $20? Absolutely. But this doesn't look like a Microsoft move per se, it looks more like the Target and Best Buy deals we see every Christmas.

-Larger HDD? I don't see a need. I have a dozen CDs ripped to my console, a few demos, all the Arcade trials, dozens of videos, and I still have several gigs free. Unless you're a demo maniac who absolutely HAS to have ALL their videos in HD, the hard drive is plenty big. Then again, I suppose that's exactly what some p...

If you're mystified how this math holds up, think of the numbers in the greater picture.

Microsoft expects to have shipped 10million consoles by year's end, and they basically expect shortages over Christmas as people snag up every unit they can possibly get to stores. THAT's how this would add up. And it's certainly plausible.

-360 has sold 6 million with lots more coming to market soon.
-Wii plans to open up with over 2million consoles shipping, and lots...

The REAL problem has been the lies.

-"PS3 is ready to ship Spring 2006."
-"The "Boomerang" design is final- we won't be changing it."
-"PS3 will not have a network to compete with Live."
-"All launch games will ship in 1080p, running at 120fps."
-"PS3 is a supercomputer 2-3x as powerful as 360."
-"PS3 will have dual HDMI outputs and accept 7 controllers simultaneously."

This article is really the teapot calling the kettle black. Saying PS1 was only developerd for because it happened to be in the right place in the right time instead of being at at-all decent console? Er, no. PS1 was such an advancement in hardware and storage medium that it really did allow a lot of devs to do new things. Just like Atari 2600 broke big ground when it hit.

And saying the PS1 was easy to develop for compared to the Saturn, from dev accounts, is more like saying ...

It seems like there's basically one of this exact post on every internet forum I've been on tonight. Basically, only one. And they all read roughly like this one. "OMG THZ GAM BRKED MY ZYZTEM U SUX MC$FT IS GHEY!"

Once, or twice even? No prob. But somehow, people seem to magically come out of the woodworks with this EXACT SAME issue EVERY time a big release happens on 360.

BTW, since this is probably the case AGAIN: To this day, people keep showing up at Gamest...

The real problem is that these "killer graphics" you've been seeing the PS3 "deliver"... don't exist.

Read the article- the supposed screenshots and gampeplay movies of FFXIII are total fabrications, not based on anything remotely resembling any game actually in progress.

The graphics enging that would eventually make this game basically hasn't even entered development yet! The devs are at the stage where they're basically still just writing a...

"You need at least a 42" tv for that, anything smaller just doesn't have enough pixels to display proper 1080p."

So here's a question for you.
If these games basically haven't even entered development yet, what happened to saying those earlier trailers for the games were showing real, live gameplay?

Do you think that maybe, just maybe, everything we've seen from the game so far has been a complete and utter CG fabrication? Naw, couldn't be.

Depending on who's missing what here...
When you hold the Guide button down on 360, the options it gives you are "turn off controller" and "turn off console" with options to select with A or hit B to exit. Look at what happens when you hold the PS3 button again and see if you spot any similarities at all.

Or maybe that the Guide button is not only what connects the controller to the console but also powers on the console if it's off? Still not seeing ...
