TEMPEST is one of my favorite arcade games of all time. If their "evolved" version of it is half as awesome as Geo Wars Evolved... I'm all over that. And Asteroids? Screw the upgrade- I'd pay 800 points to get the game on my 360 at all. (well, with achievements and such)
Here's to hoping for no more of Atari's half-assed "3d" conversions. Or (insert remake of one of their games that wound up sucking because they messed up the core gameplay). Atari- look to G...
People slam 360 for updates, so let's be fair and spread the hate.
You're missing a big piece here, though. You HAVE to get this update to play the game. Period. The game CANNOT be played without the update. Yes it luckily comes bundled, but will that always be the case? Every single time? Other this console's life?
360's online updates are only required if you plan on taking a game online.
If there were a game that didn't get bundled with its update (or all the necessary updates depending on how it's done and a person's individ...
Yup.
"zOMG, I want a console not a computer."
"A web browser- WTF is this, a PC?"
"It'S GONNA BE WIN 98 AND CRASH!"
...etc.
And just to throw this in again... RR6 is still one of the very worst games available for Xbox 360 to date. How did the series go all of a sudden from the great RR5, to the supposedly great RR7, but magically suck completely in the middle?
Hm.
I don't know anyone who's had ANY problem with this update. That's probably a dozen friends with 360s, my girlfriend works at a Gamestop and she hadn't heard of this issue until I mentioned it, and I'm friends with a half-dozen other Gamestop managers... and none of them have heard of it either.
So that's... at least a few dozen people I'm relatively close to... and a few hundred spare cases. With basically no one reporting any issue at all.
Microsoft is REALLY o...
There's a big difference between Oblivion getting expansions later that don't actually affect core gameplay except to make it even more massive, and Gran Turismo HD, which will apparently only come with ~30 cars and 2 tracks. That's not even a real game.
I'm pre-ordering ASAP. I wanna get my grubby little hands on that Legendary Edition at all costs. If I'm first in line a year ahead, maybe I can even get one near launch. Heh.
Gotta throw it out again: "So why the hell do I have to pay $250 when I already own a GameCube"?
Add lightbar and a modem to a Gamecube- Voila! It's a Wii. Oh, maybe it's not as small as a Wii. But it doesn't cost $250 either.
This is like a slightly older article where lots of places thought an anti-mod patch was already out and were saying none of their modded 360s were getting banned but some of their non-modded 360s were.
...what they didn't add was that those other 360s were getting banned because the user loved to yell racist / offensive comments at people, etc, etc.
Bungie only ever announced one date for Halo 2- that's true. The "delays" people kept screaming about were just stores like Gamestop pushing back their expected dates.
For those who missed it, Gamestop's first "official" ship date for Halo 2 was April 2003. Yes, you read that correctly- 2003. They pushed back their date every few months from then until Bungie shipped.
But in the past, yes Bungie has delayed games. Marathon, for instance, was H...
Maybe it's been fixed since then, but last I heard, connecting a 1.3 signal to a 1.1 device produced, among other things, hissing and pops in the audio.
So unless there's been a new revision of v1.3 since then (making this 1.4?) it's not supposed to be backward compatible.
The intercooler is not needed unless you're in a place where you need fans. Just think about it.
I have a friend who fried his 360 without an intercooler- his room also stays as hot and humid as a tropical jungle, and these conditions often cause problems with electronics. AND his 360 was in a cabinet in that room. Of COURSE an intercooler was a wise choice for him. Er, he should have actually just used a fan and not stolen power from his 360, but you get the idea.
I have absolutely no idea why console makers (Sony and Nintendo) do this.
Anyone remember the scary "guy in a cube" commercials from Gamecube's launch window? I actually refrained from buying/promoting that system to anyone for a long time because their commercials were too f'ng creepy.
And now a crying baby? WTH?
This commercial does inspire me to go into my local store- and tell everyone that Sony has a commercial so screwed up that they should...
Jack already forced games like The Sims (and GTA) to get re-rated because of third-party mods that the developer had absolutely nothing to do with.
I'll actually bet that he'll win this case, and from now on, developers will have to watch the options available in their create-a-character modes.
Not because he actually has any kind of case, but because the American legal system is THAT f'ed up.
Halo 2? You're barking up the wrong tree there- remember, Halo 2 is still THE most popular game on Xbox Live. Hard to hate on a game that's STILL doing that well.
Now Halo- that's where you really need to look. At launch, most mags gave Halo mediocre-to-good reviews, often citing the "floaty" controls, repetitive levels, and generic story.
What's to stop people from setting their Zunes to send/download constantly and just always take the crowded way home?
People in New York and LA would be instant millionaires in whatever this system would be.
I hate news items like this. Has anyone here been around the game industry for longer than this "high-definition" generation? Anyone?
Well then you should know that people misinterpreting how much each console can do is par for the course. Quick page in history: Look back to, oh I dunno, when Donkey Kong Country hit SNES. Everyone thought the system was tapped out. Nobody thought SNES could crank out DKC's graphics.
Forward to now... *yawn*
Yup, ...
Uhhh... "Freuer Frei", the opening song to XXX, was done by the German band Rammstein. Who were the band shown at the start of XXX. While their song was playing. Heh.
And to another post- Buckethead is mostly famous as a sort of guitarist mercenary for hire who's rocket out in... basically everything. Like when Guns & Roses was doing a reunion? Buckethead was there.
Yeah, these screenshots are TOTALLY from real gameplay. [/sarcasm] I don't care what system this game comes out on... I don't really care about Rally titles anymore. There's just nothing there.
If I want arcade racing, I'll pick up Project Gotham (TONS of cars, custom tracks, garages, great online features, Geometry Wars). If I want simulation, I'll pick up Forza (TONNES of cars, crazy customization, deep Career mode).
If I pick up rally games, what do I get? Not...
...but he's pointing out at the 360 has / is getting Dead or Alive. And Blue Dragon. And Lost Oddyssey. And Dead Rising. And Lost Planet. And FFXI. And Phantasy Star Universe. And Enchanted Arms. And....
