*two thumbs up*
I'm betting everything they make is eventually going multiplatform, it's just a question of what and when. The NDA portion is probably keeping back the fact that everything's eventually coming out for everything.
If people wouldn't steal live product, they wouldn't have to do this.
Stop stealing, you freakin' klept0z!
:P
The difference is:
"Playstation 3 is (x) times more powerful than 360."
-Everyone in Sony's PR department
"PS3 titles will be graphically superior to their competitors" ... "All PS3 titles will run in 1080p at 120fps"
-Ken Kutaragi and Kompany
...and et cetera. (plus, the console costs $200 more, or a much wider gap for many Euro consumers)
Keep in mind that half (or more? not sure about Virtua Ten...
Yes, a suitcse of money blowing up is a perfect advertising method for PS3.
"Here's your lifesavings."
*poof*
[/sarcasm off]
It would be hard to think of WORSE advertising for a console than what Sony's done so far. How about the "mypsp" fiasco that blew up all over the media? Or how about executive quotes like "We could sell the first 5million units without games"?
2%? Of what?
Mortal Kombat is almost a running joke at this point (Kart Kombat, Chess Kombat), and their biggest projects otherwise are... MLB Slugfest? Rampage?
My Xbox 360 already outputs perfect 1080p via Component or VGA, and the 120GB hard drive would fit on my unit just fine.
Ssoooo... what's the point of the "new" console?
The 65Nm chips will also become standard in all new units, so even that advantage would be incredibly short-lived.
Good God people, I'll say it again:
THE "CONFORMATION" OF THIS STORY COMES FROM THE ***APRIL*** ISSUE OF GAME INFORMER, WHICH, LIKE ALL OTHER MAJOR GAMING PUBLICATIONS, PRINTS MANY JOKE STORIES IN ITS APRIL ISSUE.
And this is being picked up as 100% absolute confirmation by sites all across the interwebs... great...
Does nobody in the world have a sense of humor anymore?
So with an extra year in development, the devs managed slightly better load times balanced with worse colors and shading?
Nice. Really shows the power of the PS3.
1- "Announced recently"? Really?
2- Due in APRIL!? Maybe around April 1st, perhaps?
$1,200 Aussie, from what I've read.
I apologize personally if Sony doesn't.
Stores in Europe are heavily overstocked with (apparently) no shortage of units ready for consumers, and there's ALREADY PS3-related violence? Again? Why? They delayed a year from Kutaragi's initial promise- and in a year, people still couldn't save up enough money? Heh.
Seriously, though- if one mugging is all that goes down on this launch, that'd be a very nice statistic. I can't imagine this is the end, though.
Holy cow- you mean when you have an entire year after your competitor's launch to polish your hardware and build advertising, and your launch focuses on only two territories isntead of a worldwide launch, you can manage to sell slightly faster than they did? Nnnnnawwwww....
[/heh.]
How about we also compare 360 and PS3 sales for Europe overthe same time period? Let's see... aw,man- it looks like PS3 actually sold 0 units! 360 stomped them big time!
....you...
As I've said all along:
Heck with both of 'em, I'll keep my DVDs, and any number of services from online downloads to on-demand satellite will be ready to replace it by the time either format "wins".
BTW: Digital distribution does rule. I checked out Jackass 2 one day on Live while I had the flu. Much more convenient than my local video store, and a lot cheaper as well. It's hard to argue with results like that. Now if only these services allowed DVD backups......
It's shipping Summer-ish, and that's been the consensus for a while. Is good enough for me. And anyone scraeming "overhyped" just needs to look at the in-game screens. This thing will be mind blowing graphically at the very least, and it's coming from some people who've been VERY successful with RPGs as of late, and the story seems pretty darn cool so far... sooo...
What's to worry about?
And if you missed it, Square signed a multi-game deal with Microsoft last year. They've gotta put SOMETHING on the system other than FFXI. Heh.
"Our fault is that we set the bar too high,"
Doesn't that quote sound familiar? Hhmmmm... if only I could think of who else had said that... (such as every company that ever over-promised and under-delivered).
When DMC3 was Sony only, everyone there was ranting and raving how incredible it looked and how 360 couldn't pull it off.
Now, everyone faces the fact that this is not the best-looking game out there, it's just another in a long line of sequels, and that even if it does turn out to be a good game, there won't be anything earth-shattering about it.
Oh, wait, I bet as a twist, Dante's going to kill some guys. What do you wanna bet?
*falls over laughing*
Comment of the day!
Happy early April Fools' Day, everyone!
Thanks for playing.
I agree with most of this, regardless of console. I still own an SDTV, I don't plan on replacing my DVDs anytime soon, and I don't want anyone trying to force that transition on me, regardless of who it is that's trying it.
I just don't care about HD... er, at all, really.
*insert shrug*
I just want my games.
