BONK!
-I don't even get why people are categorizing L4D as a 360 exclusive-
Agreed. I'm a religious L4D(PC) player. IMO if you're not playing Left4Dead on your PC, then you're playing it on the wrong platform.
Red Dead Revolver 2. Although... the official RDR website shows Redemption as being multi-plat. If not RDR, then a new IP?
Thoughts?
Sleipnir, what's your PSN? Wanna play some KZ2 tomorrow?
I agree with a lot of what you're saying, Soda. Except...
-Who could have foreseen that the PS3 would be 7 million units behind the 360 by now before it's release?-
Everyone? The PS3 was released a year after the 360. That's the sole reason that it's trailing in total units.
Oh sweet. The 360 finally got a small portion of the mountain of fixes that PC owners received over a month ago. I guess that's better than not getting any updates at all. (glances at console versions of the Orange Box)
I think you've summed up the argument right there. This isn't 05. This is 09. Gaming has changed a lot in the last four years. The complaint is that little has changed from RE4 to RE5.
Good or bad. That's your call.
No prob. I didn't mean to infer that you might be a meathead. However, I think all of us have one or two meathead friends. ;)
Receiving an 8.4 is extremely generous. IMO, 8.4 is a GREAT score and, sadly, Halo Wars is not a GREAT game. It's more worthy of a 6.5 or 7.0, in my opinion, which is still a GOOD score but not a GREAT one.
It's really dependent on what you're looking for. We all could regurgitate the perks for each side of the camp (360/PS3), and we could argue it until we're blue in the face.
I'll say this though, if you're on a budget, you probably shouldn't have taken "gaming" as a hobby.
Giving a "B" to Halo Wars is being generous. Have you actually played this game before, sofocado? It's the very definition of mediocre. That's not a bad thing. But it's not a great thing either. It's just OK. HW does some things pretty well, but it disappoints in a lot of other areas. The positives and negatives balance out and you end up with a mediocre gaming experience.
I don't want to spoil it for you. Just go out and play it. Also, my girlfriend worked on...
Agreed. Halo Wars's best quality is that it is "easy". It's a digestible RTS for the everyman. People that otherwise wouldn't be in to RTS games can easily sit down with their pals and figure it out (regardless of how meathead their friends may be).
And in that, I applaud Ensemble for truly understanding the American gaming market.
I never mentioned the Edge review in any of my responses, nor am I interested in discussing it. Edge is a garbage magazine/website with garbage reviewers.
Maybe RTS gamers expect more content out of their games? HW seems like a strong effort to pull non-RTSers in to the genre. Sadly, I just can't recommend this game to a seasoned RTS veteran looking for real substance.
IMO, Halo Wars feels like a mildly-gimped RTS for babies wearing mittens.
But then again, Halo felt like a mildly-gimped FPS for babies wearing booties.
If Halo Wars ends up doing anything for the RTS genre near what Halo did for the FPS or FF7 di...
-most of YOUR games-
What games would those be?
I think we're lowering our standards a bit to call this a good game. IMO, anything over a 7.0 for Halo Wars is being generous.
I can't do top5, but I can do top10.
Shadow of the Colossus
Silent Hill 2
Okami
Kingdom Hearts
Ico
Disgaea
Digital Devil Saga
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Odin Sphere
Gitaroo Man
Crackdown?
Lastdance, it's not often that an internet posts makes me literally laugh out loud... bubbs.
Even only partially quoted, it's good to see that some developers aren't afraid to counter the "PS3 is a b!tch to developer for" argument. Albeit, the dev was talking about how much of a pleasure it is to be a developer during this generation, it's better than those devs who say "PS3 is too hard" and then give up.
I'm excited to see what Bioware has in store in the coming months. :)
