Key word is 'focus', if they focus on the Multi-Media side of the system over the games, they will fail with gamers. Not that they'd mind, because if they focus on the Multi-Media over games, gamers weren't their target consumer anyway.

Options.

Digital only won't take off until a vast majority of people have a good enough connection to dowlnoad a 50-100+ gig game in a reasonable amount of time. Even with the ability to start playing upon download, I wouldn't want to have to wait hours for my download to finish.

Besides, who wouldn't want a physical copy, I'd hate to miss out on that new game smell :)

We're in for a mixed future for a long time.

I like being able to use Netflix, Amazon, etc and hope they keep adding cool services like that. But I hope they downplay the importance of it, kind of like they did during the presser - just icing on the gaming cake. "oh yeah, we have a camera for the controller and here's a bunch of apps on the system...anyway, back to the awesome games"

It's Hammers and Gunlances for me. Always liked the regular lance too, but they just haven't been the same since MHF. Used Gunlance on MHF3GHD and it was awesome, so technical.

I have no doubt Soul Sacrifice will be awesome, but Monster Hunter is still amaizing. Sure, it's a little dissapointing that they don't try to improve upon the franchise, but I doubt it will ever be called stale.

That's too bad, you'll be missing out on an amaizing game. It does require a lot of patience, it's no hack-n-slash.

I think it's funny you think the demo needed to better demo to new hunters. It didn't show the crafting, need for gathering, etc... but it was definitely geared for people new to the game. These two demo fights were weighted heavily in the player's favor. I guarantee, the Plesioth won't be so easy to take down the first time you come ...

If people complain about the WiiU or Sony's new controller being gimmicky, I can only assume that if Microsoft announces Illumiroom, it will be universally panned as the biggest gimmick of all. Worst yet, they announce it isn't optional.

I want to play some awesome games, they seem to be wanting to be the next cool toy non-gamers flock to buy.

Sounds like he's just dodging the questions, trying not to get locked in to anything that's subject to change.

Other reports are that the new contoller requires the camera, and Sony seemed to make that clear during the press event. I doubt that it won't be packed in with the system.

Release dates, that's a tricky one. I think, based on what they've said, they are aiming for a worldwide release, but until they can verify production levels, ...

@xursz, I don't know if they know it. Everything sounds like they're gunning more for the wii audience then the hardcore. I'm sure they'll have some hardcore stuff, mostly 3rd party multiplat stuff, but they want to be an entertainment hub. They've said it, the last 3-4 years have shown it, and the inclusion of windows 8 pretty much proves it.

I think it should be a completely different game set in the same established universe. I'd even prefer it not even play the same. Give me a true open galaxy and full flight controls, maybe coop crews instead of AI only. Customizable characters, species and all.

They could do so much with what they've created, I just hope they don't let the previous games dictate the new ones direction.

Just keep showing us games, games, and more games. I mean, we're gamers right? Console where the games are at is where the gamers will be.

I have to politely disagree. Halo was great in its day, but feels so old now. Bunny jumps, 4 head shots to kill, floaty feel even though your character is wearing a ton of armor.... I've had a lot of good times playing Halo, but I think it's time to change up the formula.

Killzone needs to work on providing more ways to play. I loved the single player, same for Halo, but I also loved the multiplayer in KZ, unlike Halo. The one thing Halo does well in multi is providi...

The rumors, I repeat, rumors are showing the PS4 to be measurably more powerful than the next Xbox. It may not make any difference, but while similar, I wouldn't throw around terms like identical. I think a lot may depend on how much resources the xbox's operating system will use if its running windows 8 compared to sony's os.

I agree, the game will be great on both, regardless.

If they make a big deal out of either Halo or Gears as a launch title then it will be clear they have failed. They need to show new hardcore exclusives, not sequels for the same games they leaned on this gen whose last release haven't been out even a year.

They don't confuse me, they're clearly trying to find any negative they can within the mountain of awesome we've just been given. Sad to see gamers who aren't excited for a new system that looks to be so gamer centric.

That's a really good point. Best to hope the streaming service will be subscription based. I wouldn't like paying per title to stream, but a subscription to the entire available catalogue could be an amazing dealdeal.

There's this thing called a sentence. You might want to check it out. I hear they're really popular.

It won't hurt those people because the PS4 would cost more to make it backward compatible. So, now instead of trading towards a more expensive console, they can keep the PS3 and buy the PS4. Hardware based BC isn't free.

Yes, they announced exclusive dlc on the PlayStation.
