Microsoft could just require the disk be in the system...problem solved. They want the drm, they want the fees. They haven't even mentioned the developers getting a cut, so far it's all ms and the publisher....greedy f**ks
The PS4 will have a camera, but I'd bet you have the full option to disable outside of games that require it.
People who buy used still support developers, like when they buy dlc or the next game in a series new, etc.
They required playing from the hard drive because they wanted drm and didn't want to pay for the quicker blu-ray drive. There's still a license fee if your not buying from an authorized reseller. For example, if you borrow your friends game.

The games they would have to show would have to be utterly mind blowing in order for people to overlook all this things flaws and anti consumer positions.
If they can do it, great. But does anyone really think they can provide anything better than Sony? Just look at their records, it isn't likely.
I remember those articles, it took way more than months. It was years before that junk stopped showing up.
So, according to this, a game only has access to 5 gb of the ram, 6 of the 8 cores, and 90% of the gpu. All of which are already reported to be weaker than the equivalent components on the PS4..... Makes me wonder how many cores games on the PS4 have access to.
The PS4 is already more powerful, if their games also get a greater amount of the PS4s available resources (there's no reason to think they won't) then this could make a really big difference on performance be...
Sony announced this same feature at their PS4 reveal.
Come on SDF, you know, deep down you're a gamer. This system is not for us. They want to use us to show this thing off to their actual customers - the fad crowd.
Drop the pay for live, drop the drm, drop the online requirement .....then I might consider this machine.
But, there's no way that'll happen.
This thing needs to be treated by gaming sites just like any tablet or phone, because just like them, it can play games, but they aren't gaming machines.

Their current user is not their target consumer. They want this thing sold on the tv functionality, roll in the money from all of the subscriptions and adds. They'll try to use gamers to get it started into people's homes, then focus on everything but games.

But seriously, they drop the drm, always online, and live fee just to play online and I'd be tempted.
