Everything else aside, I think a lot of people's problems with the 360 combined with the $100 price difference is going to leave this gen one sided.

I'm guessing they know the date and just have a specific event they want to announce it at. MS said November, so if they can they'll just pick October or sooner and not worry about it.
CrossingEden, I'm sorry you feel that way man, I wasn't trying to sound hypocritical. In fact, prior to E3, I had no doubt MS was going to be showing off exclusives, they had to since they hadn't shown any before.
All I'm saying here is that we know how many first party studios Sony has and we know they've only showed a few of the titles these teams are working on. Therefor, we know many more are on the way.

They have a ton of first party titles they haven't shown yet. I think of they didn't have the huge drm bombshell, we would have seen more of them at E3. But since they didn't need to show them yet to come out on top, they choose to hold them a little closer, so when MS starts running out of news, they can start showing more new games.
A lot of the features sound more like BC2 and that's a good thing. The recon class, for example, sounds much more like the BC2 version. I'm hoping they bring back the tracer dart and hopefully seperate the assault class from the medic.
AngryEnglish, you don't sound like a dick at all. I'd argue that the initial purchasers of the wii were hardcore people. Bought it for the Nintendo exclusives and when their family saw the thing, during the holidays, they went nuts for wii sports.
I think the one has potential to do something similar, but the key is to have it in gamer homes before the holidays and with a killer app for the casual audience. Right now, its got a few things going against it. Number one...
But the hardcore gamer will be the early adopter. The one giving advice to the casual audience, their friends and family. Word of mouth is still the best marketing. Just look at how many times we've seen someone this gen say they got a 360 because their friends had one.... That will apply this gen too and with so many seeming to go with PS4 first, you'll likely see that casual audience go that way as well.

alternatively, ask your friends. All my friends that were 360 only have switched. Don't know about anyone else out there, could just be them but I doubt it.
I agree, they are winning no software war. I will say, they have bought some good looking exclusives, but we all know most will be timed and the stuff coming from their in house teams just doesn't look compelling.
The way I understand it, correct me if I'm wrong, the Xbone still requires the game be installed because they've opted for a slower bluray drive. They need the speed of the hard drive.
