Dead Space is an Action game with horror elements if you ask me. I agree with the article Survival horror started to die with Resident Evil 4. You get too many high powered gun, tons of ammo and health in modern "survival horror" games. not much to survival there.
I agree with Blaine. JRPGs don't need westernizing, but they definitely need some innovation particularly in the story and characters department. It would be nice to see some JRPG developers step up and give us a story that's half as good as some of the older JRPGs like Xenogears.

It's not that new. there was Indigo Prophesy on the PS2 which is the same thing. this is more or less the spiritual successor to IP. and before that there where plenty of point and click adventure games. when it comes down to it Heavy Rain is another point and click adventure with QTE and a large budget. Don't get me wrong, it's one of my most anticipated games this year, but it isn't as new as the media and devs would like to portray.

scoring out of 4 is a lot better than assigning larger arbitrary numbers. seriously what the hell is an 86/100 or an 9.2/10 (I'm looking at you GT). no need to be so precise here just a general ballpark figure. out of 5 is probably my preference, but I'd rather have out of 4 than out off 100 and get stupid scores like 97, 62, or 83.
agreed, way to many people today won't even consider a game that gets less than an 8. sad really since I've played and enjoyed a number of low scoring games this gen and liked them more than games getting perfect scores.
regardless of what the reviewers might think, everyone I know that has bought WKC, save for one or two people, is thoroughly enjoying it. Even if this game doesn't review well There is no question I'll be enjoying it.

I wouldn't doubt it. level-5 has never written the best stories. Jeanne D'arc is put together pretty well, but the story was practically written for them and it's still very cliche. in most level-5 rpgs i find the emphasis to be on dungeon crawling, exploration, and item creation, not the story.
you also get a lot of free stuff from boys :P
I really hate that the only thing I hear from level-5 fans is "give me dark cloud." I would much rather a developer work on new games/IPs rather than get stuck in a rut making the same game over and over, just updating the graphics.
As for me, i think level-5 always makes a solid RPG, the world, characters and story in their games on the other hand always tends to be on the bland side though with maybe the exception of Rouge Galaxy. usually they have a really deep item...
the only games I've found a lot of annoying smack talking people on Warhawk and COD. Killzone 2 I ran into a few when the game was first released but since then I only get the occasional person playing music through their mic. I'd agree most people i've run across that use mics on PSN are fairly well mannered.
Lair wasn't perfect but it was still a great game that did a fantastic job making use of the motion controls. it just had a steeper learning curve and most were too swayed by the media and unwilling to put in the time to get use to the controls. def agree with chubear on this one.
