thats what i was going to say, I only downloaded it because I got it with the MGS4 bundle, otherwise i never would have payed for it. it's fun to mess around with if the right people are over, but i would never spend money on it.
Also PixelJunk Monsters and SSD HD are my favorite PSN games, way better than PAIN.

first, the beta argument isn't really a good one and you're setting yourself up for backlash comments by fanboys when home is finished and nothings changed. the beta is pretty much what home will be/is. they aren't going to add anything thats going to blow you away.
secondly, home IS NOT A GAME. it's more of an App. It's a social tool to connect the PS3 community. let me repeat it's a SOCIAL TOOL. it is ignorant people thinking its a game thats causing most of the bad press. fur...
that may be so, but attack of the show and xplay are still some of my favorite shows on tv. too bad i don't get the channel anymore.
wow really great list, although I still skeptical about boom blox. I bought both Valkyria Chronicles and Persona 4. played the demo of grid and its definitely a great game, if i was more into racing games i would have picked it up.
ya I KNOW, i definitely see your point. it would be similar to if a game had you run around and kill other people and thats all you did, just run around and shoot people maybe 20, 30, 50 times to win a game maybe more and then you could do it again. that would be horribly redundant. it would have to be, just doing the same thing over and over again. god whats wrong with people playing such redundant games. well I'm going to go play a non-redundant death match game in halo now so peace out.
ya seriously, gamers this gen suck, they'd rather buy a mediocre FPS than a new original game that actually pushes a genre forward. I'm so disgusted with gamers, my cousin came over for thanksgiving and all he kept asking was to play halo! (he found out i didn't have halo 3 so he wanted to play halo 2 instead) I blame halo for the current state of the gaming industry, halo and all the people who keep buying madden every year. damn you all!

anyway I feel sorry for all the people who will inevitably get this game as a gift from their uninformed parents/family.
well if you really think about it, this type of game has a much better chance of appealing to the Japanese market than the western and PS3 has a much bigger hold on the Japanese market than the 360. From that perspective it makes sense that they would develop it for PS3 over the 360.
actually i think you might be right I remember hearing a lot of people not being able to find it when it was first released.
I did the same thing passed up resistance 2 to get this game. more people need to buy it, but i think most people who planned to get this game knew it wouldn't do well sell wise. all the forums i was on about this game people my self included where promoting this game like crazy just so more gamers at least knew about it. I guess it will end up on a lot of "top 10 most overlooked PS3 games" similarly to games like ICO and pychonauts did on the PS2. heres hoping gamers give this gam...
1 and 4 are my favorites as well but it would be hard choice between the two.
ya survival horror is pretty much dead. the only games that i can think of that are/will be survival horror this gen are siren BC (PSN) and fatal frame 4 (Wii). fatal frame 4 is the main reason i will eventually pick up a wii. can you imagine moving the flashlight around and taking pictures with the wiimote, pure awesomeness! everything else (dead space, RE4/5, alone in the dark, ...) is an action game with slight horror elements. dead space isn't even scary, it has a great atmosphere and go...

i might torrent this one just for sh!ts and giggles, but i wouldn't waist money on it.
your right, psp definitely doesn't have a game with the lasting and mass appeal that matches up with pokemon, but it certainly its share of worthwhile games.
(although for japan they seem to be crazy over the monster hunter games. I guess you could consider that there flagship but state side it hasn't had the same appeal and there isn't anything that can match the DS flagship pokemon)
Pokemon was the sole reason I bought a DS and its probably the sole reason I have...

anyway ya I was expecting to see guilty gear on the list as well.
personally i'm looking forward to FFXIII more than vs XIII. I'm looking for a more traditional JRPG and i never really got into kingdom hearts, it felt really repetitive for me. Also the idea of the story in XIII being more about friendships and not a love story has me more interested. love stories are fine but i'd like to see more rpgs take a different approach. I'm sure both will be good games but FFXIII just interests me more.
