I think the significant thing to remember here, is that IGN experienced lag while playing an eight player local LAN game. This is obviously very different from the lag experienced ON LINE.There really shoudn't be any noticable lag on an eight player local LAN connection.Whereas across the internet the data must traverse many hops ie routers/switches and sometimes great distances to get to it's destination.Every device the data travels through introduces some 'device delay' while its 'best rou...
Free delivery and you save a bundle off the RRP.You can be sure i'll put that penny saved to good use.Hmmm.. On second thoughts i'll wait until the machine is under £300.00, stick your penny.
I agree, it doesn't sound good, does it. On the other hand lets wait for final review, hopefully it'll be sorted. One things for sure though, this will be a busy post.
Number one.Getting your money back.Utter rubbish, if the demo is anything to go by.
Why would any real game fan not want this game to go multiplatform? If it turns out to be a classic, then we are all winners regardless of console.Sure, if you wanna argue over which version is best then great, thats the fun of these forums, but to want to deny access to a good game simply based on a persons choice of console is rather nasty in my book.
I thought 360 version was great, but it did have a few annoying niggles with loading, popup etc. If those problems are ironed out on the PS3 version then i think that is more important than any superficial improvement in graphics.Hopefully they will use one of PS3 advantages and load from HDD. I'm sure all PS3 owners that purchase this game will enjoy it enormously.
I have also been playing games over 25years and while some games don't 'need' rumble, the one type of game it is almost essential for is a car racing game.I'll give credit where its due for Sony or MS, but not including rummble in a modern games console is wacko. I don't even understand why Sony didn't include it.Can someone enlighten me ,please.
You make a good point in support of split screen coop. Now larger screens are becoming more common place it makes even more sense than ever to include split screen options.Although online coop is great, especially four player coop? Lets hope the devs listen and keep split screen alive. It would be great to be able to have two player split screen taking part in say, four player online mode.
Who the hell contributes the .3 in 4.3 times a week stats? If i don't get a full 1.0 i'm cranky all day
episodic content on the wind. Lets make games that only last long enough to get people hooked, than hit'em in the pocket. You want 70 hours? Sure , but at what cost? Count me out you SOB's
Well done, very interesting work.I don't understand the mis-informed attitude of many people on this site. And the idea that the cost of dvd's would come down if there was no such behaviour is naive in the extreme.
I understand what you are saying and why.Just to clear things up,i already play on a 360 every weekend at a friends house, he owns a good quality LCD and its great,no doubt.I don't want to use any more bubbles on something we can agree to disagree over. So i'll just refer you to my previous comments, as to which display i currently prefer. However one thing you might like to try if you get the opportunity. In a darkened room turn on your lcd display with no picture signal.See the light? Thats w...
While LCD and Plasma are undoubtedly closing the gap, and on occasion, surpassing traditional CRT's. It is true that pound for pound crt's GENERALLY still outperform the new arrivals on picture quality alone. However, LCD/plasma have many other advantages, like size/weight ratio ,much larger screen sizes, falling costs etc. I currently have a High quality CRT (personal choice) and i have yet to see a LCD/plasma that i think matches it in sheer picture quality.Of course if you prefer 'grey' bl...
Yes.And'Metaphorically speaking' you just took a leak up the wall too. :)
Yeah,Woolworths is still going in U.K. I have no reason to doubt this article, my own experiences here, in England tells me there are many people wanting a PS3. Sony is a brand name that the average consumer associates with video games, not so, Microsoft.I've had all kinds of people ask me about PS3 details, while very few have asked about 360. Microsoft 360 users seem to be limited to hardcore more knowledgeable fans, than your average parents shopping for little Jimmy.Gotta say though, many ...
This is a big advantage for PS3. A simple thing like making hdd standard in ALL machines allows devs to use it. Microsoft are idiots for not doing this. Many of the games i have for my 360 suffer from having to stream from dvd drive, on some games its minor on others ,not so minor.Of course its worth pointing out that even Sony made the mistake of two models, either 20GB or 60GB, this obviously means devs have to treat all machines as 20GB models, but hey, its better than a DVD drive any day. ...
My guess. This guy's been sacked, because of 'stock sitting on shelves' rumours.
I watched this programme about an hour ago and they actually highligthed only two customers with problems, but stated they had received all of twenty or so complaints to the show.Microsoft have since replaced one guys console AND given him some free games as well. Now, forgive me, but twenty odd complaints doesn't seem too outrageous to me. Watchdog is a consumer protection show on the BBC, which is usually fair and accurate. This particular article seems a little out of proportion to the prob...
I don't wish to seem ungenerous or anything, but while a lot of what is said in the article may be true, its only the partial story. An example is CRT's.Yes they do generally give a better picture comparing resolution to resolution, than LCD or plasma. However, if you go larger than, say 32" screen size on crt, then the picture become blurry towards the edges. This is a limitation of how cathode ray tubes work, not a Manufacturer dependent issue. There are other inconsistences in the article ...
I don't know of any piece of electroncics designed to have a 10 year life cycle. So even if Sony support it for 10 years, many units will have stopped functioning by then. Also lets face it, despite what some of you guys are saying now, you simply will not want to play old generation games when say, another Microsoft or Nintendo machine hits the market in 5 years. And if you disagree with that last statement, then ask yourself why you have a PS3 now, when the PS2 is still supported? It may be...
