appropriate, let alone realistic. The advertising industry has, i'm sure, little regard for the above criteria. The internet was once a place of truly free speech and opinions, now everything you post or type is available to business and advertisers, not forgetting government agencies and anyone else with a little know how. The internet is now restricted to what various governments and their agencies wish to allow. We had a precious commodity, now it's just advertising.Games are a business, but in ...
The PS3 will use the move it about controller thingy and the 360 version will use a normal controller. That will be the only certain difference between the two. Anything else is just talk,we all know that,so stop with the silly posturing. For my money its a crap game regardless of console, these old reliable money makers are just that, money makers with no real interest for true gamers like me, who want interesting, challenging and intelligent new games to play. Not banal tied rubbish.Although ...
does anyone know if this kid actually played video games? I do believe video games may cause people to act in this manner, but only if they play certain types of violent games in an addictive manner and over a prolonged period, then maybe, just maybe it could influence someone to behave irrationally, just as drugs or booze. However,i haven't read anything to support the idea he even played video games. So,does anyone in America consider the right to bear arms outdated (King george is dead you know!...
I have said this before and i'll repeat myself at the risk of being annoying. If you try to enforce people to use a product they do NOT want, then be prepared for the consequences.I purposely avoided valves s/w due to the steam 'system'.If valve actually valued their customers ,they could invest in decent security measures, which i assume, due to this article, they haven't done.Top quality security devices are expensive to buy and implement, but it will stop all but the very smartest from gaining e...
I don't think Halo with its alien killing masterchief is going to encourage anyone into mass murder, because players are always aware that this is fiction and just a game featuring aliens and an oversized armour clad hero. How realistic is that? Not very,i suggest. However,GTA is a whole different ball game in my opinion, because GTA and its like, purposely try to emulate, what is actually happening on the streets. In deed, some of the players are probably in gang etc themselves. This has the effe...
Firstly, thanks to overated (42.1)for pointing out vids and to lostprophet(42.2) for reminding me of the saying; 'A wise man learns more from a foolish question, than a fool learns from a wise answer'. The vid is obviously a trailer and not in game, but inpressive anyways. My original assertion still stands however, the only point i was trying to make without meaning to attack this game or any other, was games do not approach and likely never will approach reality. When we compare games to real...
Who posts these articles? Would you say a photo is like real life? Real life is movement, it's living, it's not a stil image or a photo.Show me the game moving then compare it,will it look real? Of course not.Pointless totally, pointless.
why the pack won't be free, but we all know the saying; 'Don't believe all you read'. This is more likely a joint decision, not a dictatorial one. Sorry , although Epic may be gamers, they are first and foremost a buisness.I'm rather more cynical about such things than many, but this just seems like an attempt to introduce charges, now the game has proven popular.
is very, very strong. It absolutely does have an adverse effect on your well being(strong medical evidence supports this). The only people who seem to doubt this are the people smoking copious amounts of the stuff. As for Violent videogames,GTA is in my opinion the equivelent of Tarrentino movies, that is to say, violence for violence sake.Just ,because it exists doesn't mean it should be used or held up as an example. There is escapeism in video games and there are those that choose to make m...
Exactly. Meaningless.
I have no idea what these sales figures are supposed to tell us,if anything.I can tell you one thing for sure, there is no shortage of PS3's in my area of the U.K. I've seen them with my own eyes, sitting on the shelves at PC world.Does that mean anything to anyone? If you want one you can get one.Is that good or bad? I sometimes wonder how we get to some of the conclusions that are posted on this site.
O.k. the 360 Elite is pretty much a given, but as an outside chance, i fancy a 'wii remote' type controller or some other control device.Yeah, laugh if you want, i don't care. :)
I think this is a poor option. As a 360 owner i expected a system that wouldn't swap and change within its relatively short lifetime. As a gamer my next purchase will obviously be a PS3, when price drop permits. Why would i incurr extra expense for essentially the same machine and games? Not impressed with MS on this one.
Obviously a very biased article and i feel a little embarassed that any respectful developer would sell their soul to make a few cheap shots. This kind of thing should be left to the PR drones of MS and Sony, not to any serious developer. That said, he does have a couple of valid points, such as the standard hdd and hdmi 1.3 However, overall this is blatantly one sided and i find it interesting that he sites streaming textures as the main reason GOW looks better than RFOM.So, why didn't they use...
I want a PS3 version,please.
Well, personally if i could purchase a PS3 at a reasonable price, then i'd see it as an advantage. However, i would have to pay a premium, therefore it's a disadvantage.Still MS have very little to crow about since they made a massive mistake of their own by not including hdd as standard. At least Sony had the foresight to include hdd for all, which means it can be used for games. When all is said and done, Ms is up against the 'brand' that is Sony and i can't see that as an easy hurdle to overcom...
I'm a 360 owner and i certainly don't want to see this or most other Japanese style games on the 360. I much prefer western style Fps/RPG and adventures. I just don't get these hack 'n/slash , boss heavy games. So i'll deffinately be signing for it to stay PS3 exclusive. To be honest though and my own views aside, i do think its in the interest of all gamers if most games go multi platform.
As far as security is concerned i would be very surprised if people's credit card details have been hacked FROM Microsoft. Not gonna go in to details, but it is possible for this info to be gained ,but unlikely from Microsoft which is the most secure part of the process.More likely, if some users have had problems, then could be their own security methods that are weak, not Microsoft's.Of course there is one weakness inherent in all systems and thats crooked people working on the inside!
What we really need is games developed from the ground up that are build on custom engines, not Unreal three eng.Just ,because GOW was seen by many to be a great game doesn't mean we need a multitude of games using the same engine. Otherwise we will end up with games all looking the same like games from EA.
like myself. If the PS3 still does not have 'must have software' then the price will fall further, but when a massive hit comes along you won't be able to get one for love nor money.Do i buy now or wait?
