If a platinum is attainable through what I consider "a normal amount of gameplay" I'll generally go for it. Games that require you to do anything drastic (i.e. obnoxious amounts of trophy boosting or playing for extended periods of time beyond what you'd normally play) on the other hand, forget it. Games like Warhawk, Far Cry 2, Socom: Confrontation...eff that. That's not to say I shy away from tough games (COD:WAW was one of the toughest plats I've obtained) but having to pour h...
Should put this article on a list of FAILs seeing as only about half of it is true. The xbox camera as well as the obnoxious add-ons required to make a 360 almost as capable as a PS3 definitely belong on the list.
The argument about the Sixaxis is half right. Sony was stupid in their attempt to try and strong arm immersion and pull a Microsoft by BSing the gaming community and claiming no one wanted rumble and that rumble would interfere with the Sixaxis. And yes, the contro...
Taking something popular and replicating it = FAIL. Taking something popular and improving it = WIN. When you break it all down, yes, the PS Move is an improved Wiimote. But it's a hell of an improvement with the potential to enhance a gamer's experience with some truly great titles. Someone here said it before me and I'll continue to repeat it. Demon's Souls + PS Move = full of Win.
As much as I'm loving BC2 I'm amazed that while EA and DICE have managed to FINALLY give PS3 players a Battlefield game with working mics (BC1 and 1943 were both FUBAR when it came to the mics) and have cleaned up the control scheme considerably, all sorts of technical issues continue to pop up left and right. Several of my friends have noticed MORE issues AFTER the patch was released. A few of them end up at an infinite loading screen and can't get into the game. Others have claimed that a...
Mario Kart on crack. This game takes everything folks have always loved about Mario Kart and adds LBP levels of customization and does it all in HD. Hell I've already seen clips on youtube where folks have created Mario look-alike avatars and recreated various tracks from the game. I can't wait until someone does something nuts like create a mini version of the Nurburgring or other real life tracks.
This looks amazing. And by amazing I mean complete ass. Simply awful.
MGS1, MGS3, FFX and FF: Tactics all come to mind. I loved how MGS1 had an alternate ending, both of which came with a powerful message. MGS3 was simply epic and flat out shames MGS4. FFX had a powerful ending which was almost completely undone by the happy but cheesy ending of FFX-2. Final Fantasy Tactics...the ending to this game defines the term "epic". I absolutely loved the story to FFT and think that it is one of the most underrated and underappreciated games of all time. ...
FAILness at its finest. I'd ask "when will Activision ever learn" but I think the real question here is "when will gamers ever learn?" Speak with your wallet or prepare to meet Ben Dover.
Oh please. L4D2 looks like a last gen game. Everyone talks about how "Valve is so forward thinking this and Valve is so innovative that". My eye. Their games look like **** and the gameplay is dumbed down. Anyone with a PS3 who wants to play L4D2 can simply pop in COD:WAW and play Nazi Zombies. And guess what, they can aim down the sights too. Valve is overrated in 2010. Portal 2 alone ain't gonna get it done.
Seriously GTFO. Everyone knows Gamestop is a rip when it comes to trades, not to mention they take new games out of their cases. Lame sauce. Both GOW3 and FFXIII are single player games. As awesome as they both are, if you don't have the cash for them you can always pick them up at a later date and not have to worry about missing out on anything as you would with an online game which changes over time depending on the strength of the community. Yeah fine you'll have to dodge spoilers for...
HA! I knew it. All this talk about Bungie potentially doing a multiplat or PS3 game and the first thing I thought of was them reviving the Marathon franchise. In all honesty, I not too sure how many folks who play FPSs these days are aware of Marathon, or that Bungie even made games before Halo. If anything, I think a reboot of the franchise is the way to go. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this "new Marathon" ends up being Marathon in name only with completely original con...
The stupid thing about this is that 2k could have just gone ahead and released the DLC assets to all players for free via an update, and then charged players for an unlock if they actually wanted access to the content just like Rockstar did with the South Central expansion of Midnight Club: LA. I think a lot of folks wouldn't be as upset if the content and assets weren't already on the disc. I'm not saying one is more right or less wrong than the other, but it's the idea of having content i...
Makes sense. I've never played GOW1 or GOW2 (I know, I know WTF right?) and as awesome as GOW3 looks, I simply have too many new/newer games on my shelf at the moment and I know it wouldn't get the attention it deserves. That being said, when I'm finally ready to take the plunge into the realm of Kratos, I intend on nabbing the GOW Collection before I pick up GOW3.
Who writes this crap? To the author of this crappy article, would YOU ditch your PS3 or 360 for OnLive? GTFO.
So long as Insomniac continues to do great things with the Ratchet and Resistance franchises I have no problems with them developing a multiplatform IP. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised to see them put one of those two names on the back burner for a while in order to develop something new. Splitting your crew in half to release a game every year is already tough as it is and I can't see them working on three IPs simultaneously unless they add some personnel to their roster.
My goodness. The person playing this game is a complete tard and has no idea what the definition of "HD video" is. Doesn't take anything away from the game itself but damn man. Know where you're going and blurry much?
That is a crap excuse if I've ever heard one. The norm these days with regards to online games and having enough bandwith to support the traffic at launch has shifted from "having enough BW to handle estimated traffic + a bit of extra" to "having enough BW to handle estimated minimum and if ish goes awry, we'll add more later". Developers and publishers are penny pinching by going cheap in the server and bandwith department. Rather than pay a little extra ahead of time ...
The only release date I'll believe is the one that sees a copy of GT5 in my PS3. I've learned ever since GT2 days to not get my hopes up when it comes to a potential Gran Turismo release date.
And people wondered why I refused to buy MW2. As a gamer, you speak with your money and I refuse to support a publisher as evil as Activision. Unfortunately the 12 million or so folks who bought MW2 do not feel the same way.
That would be ModNation Racers. Blur looks lame. From what I've seen, Split/Second seems to be the better game.
