Microsoft definitely dropped the ball with this one. I still remember when MS announced that Natal was just the "project code name" for the device, similar to how Vista and Windows 7 had the code names Longhorn and Blackcomb/Vienna respectively. The problem with renaming Natal to Kinect is twofold.
First off, Kinect is a stupid name in terms of its spelling. I see it, read it and want to say Kintec or Kinetic. I mean does MS even test these things? I know for...
I would just cancel my pre-order and buy the game from Amazon if a retailer ever did that to me. Not that I pre-order games anyway as I could give a crap about some lame "buy here for a bonus" extra.
GTAIV's online was complete **** at launch. I'd expect nothing different from Rockstar. Most game companies these days simply release games with crap connection/bandwith/server issues at launch and correct them after the fact. They save money by not buying/renting more bandwith than they will need ahead of time, they save money by not having to do large scale tests of their online ahead of time and they save money, they save money, they save money. Meanwhile, gamers have to put up...
People who don't like double dips from video game companies don't like double dips from film companies either, so I dunno WTH you're talking about. I don't mind if there's a "true" director's cut like say with Ridley Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven" where the DC is the director's true vision. What I don't like are films billed as DCs where the director isn't even involved with the release and all the additions consist of are reinserted ...
Sony has been the console of choice for a variety of killer games ever since the late PS1/early PS2 era. I jumped ship during the 5th gen (the N64 was my last Nintendo console and the PS1 was my first Sony console) and haven't looked back since. I've had the opportunity to play a few xbox, 360, GC and Wii exclusives thanks to my friends but I have yet to play any "need to own" games. As such, when it came time to get on the 7th gen ship, there was no question that I'd...
And probably already on the disc too. Seriously DICE/EA, this **** is getting old. Keep this crap up and I won't have a problem putting BC2 on my shelf to collect dust once Red Dead Redemption comes out.
Lost Planet 2 DLC already? Jesus Capcom, really?
The best thing about LP2 is that it'll be some of the most fun you've ever had for under $10...after you pick it up in the bargain bin six months from now.
I think the game I'm most happy to see succeed this year is Heavy Rain. We all expected GOW3, FFXIII and BC2 to sell very well but there was a lot of concern as to whether or not players would be willing to take a chance on such a different game.
Still waiting for Ace Combat to come to the PS3. Hell I'd pay for a remastered HD collection comprised of AC04, AC5 and ACZero. Throw in a full remake of the JPN version of AC3 and I'd be really happy.
Is this fool actually counting the initial startup time? I mean seriously, how stupid can you be? I have my fair share of games with some slightly longer than normal initial startups but it's never been a problem. Not like I can't get up to grab a drink from the fridge while I wait. Sheesh. The 45 seconds that it takes to actually get into a race is really the only thing he should be complaining about. Yes it's a bit longer than normal, but considering the absurd amount of c...
Wow. People say "when will Activision ever learn?" In short, they won't. There's a reason that this collection is only coming to the 360. There are simply too many great games on the PS3 for this crap milk job to compete with, and it's a proven fact that more 360 owners eat from the COD trough than PS3 and PC owners. For the sake of all gamers, please xboxers, vote with your dollar and avoid this trash.
I'll throw red kickballs at your face while you attempt to smack them back at me for free.
This is a wake up call for folks who insist that Blu-ray is worthless and DD is the future. Even a 500GB drive has to run out of space sooner or later.
Madden? MOH? Future Soldier? Really? A yearly rehash and a pair of multiplats? Even the most blind PS3 fanboy would have expected at least Alan Wake and Crackdown 2 to be on that list. Sheesh.
No Brian Cox as Scolar Visari from Killzone? No Gary Oldman as Sgt. Reznov in WAW and Ignitus from Spyro. No Elijah Wood as Spyro? No Ray Liotta as Tommy Vercetti? Hell practically the entire cast of Vice City (William Fichtner, Tom Sizemore, Dennis Hopper, Burt Reynolds, Gary Busey, Danny Trejo, Philip Michael Thomas) consists of well known names.
Bungie should use this to their advantage. Perhaps a free copy of Reach for the few remaining players.
Guy is an idiot for not including the Cerebral Bore. I don't care what his excuse is, that thing was EPIC. The Farsight from PD also should have been on the list, NOT an honorable mention. And as someone else already pointed out, the Golden Gun from Goldeneye is one everybody references whenever you're playing "one hit kill" mode in any game. Finally, no Ratchet and Clank, no deal. The Groovitron easily tops some of the crappy weapons on this list.
They can improve Ricochet all they want and it'd still be crap. Who the hell wants to spend an hour flailing like an idiot in front of a glorified EyeToy? Incorporate Natal into a game that doesn't involve you swinging your arms like an idiot like Sony has incorporated Move into their new street brawler "Lights Out" and then MAYBE I'll be impressed. Natal at this point still looks like an overrated toy that is nothing more than a glorified tech demo for what could be but doesn't ...
The ESPN partnership is so lame. First off, no NFL which is an automatic FAIL for most sports fans here in the US, and I'm not even a huge football fan. I am however a big Lakers fan but having access to ESPN on a gaming console doesn't mean much to NBA fans for one simple reason, MOST NBA GAMES ARE NOT BROADCAST ON ESPN. The majority of games are broadcast on local networks (KCAL9 for away games and FS West for home games here in LA). On top of that the games which are shown nati...
