I gotta hand it to these guys, they put a ton of work into this mod. The online isn't the smoothest but the fact that they were even able to get it to work is an accomplishment in its own right. I'm not the biggest fan of all of the changes they've made to the various classes, but for anyone who's played the crap out of the original and is looking for a change of pace, I'd definitely recommend giving 1.3 a shot.
The reason there's no video out is because if there were, some folks would be tempted to just dump their PS3 and go with a Vita which they could plug in to their flat screen when they get home. Smart marketing move on Sony's part forcing buyers to spend for both pieces of hardware but this really does suck for those who were hoping to play PSV exclusives on their big screens.
Ever? Really? EVER? Somehow I doubt that given the absurdly stupid Modern Warfare teasers we've been given over the years.
"Win" (to most of us anyway) implies that someone (whether it's one of the Big Three or a third party dev/pub) showed up, slapped the hell out of everyone with a huge surprise and went home while everyone else was busy picking their jaws up off the floor. No one did that this year, at least not in terms of software. All of us were expecting nothing short of excellence from well-established franchises such as Battlefield, Mass Effect, Resistance and Uncharted so in that sense, ...
Oh I agree. With all that's going on on-screen, I wouldn't expect TM to have car models as detailed as GT's, but overall I was impressed with what appeared to be quite a leap in visual quality over what we saw last year at E3. Twisted Metal looked much more polished visually, at least to my eyes anyway.
Obviously it'd be ridiculous to expect Gran Turismo levels of visuals here, but I gotta hand it to ESP, the game looks much improved over what they showed us at E3 last year. Gameplay looks a little more fast-paced and less cumbersome as well.
Meh, it's gotten to the point where I pretty much expect this to be the case with regards to larger multiplats on the 360. I'm glad that developers are no longer handicapping their games for the PS3 and PC crowds due to the limitations of the 360s hardware though.
Seems a lot like Tony Hawk what with all them RAILS.
Controls look sluggish, gameplay looks cumbersome and boring. I'd probably get bored after 10 minutes or so. Having something to hold on to > aimlessly flailing your arms through the air. Sorry Microsoft, you blew it.
These comments don't really answer everything though. Is 25GB the limit? Even Sony has gone to dual-layer BDs for some of their larger titles. Is 25GB also the standard capacity for a single layer disc, or does Nintendo's proprietary format max out at a lower capacity with only a single layer (i.e. 12.5GB for SL, 25GB for DL etc...)?
Title should read "Nintendo debuts hardware that Sony will refine within the next few years and support with better software...AGAIN". The Wii was and still is a toy and a gimmick, and while Move is similar in many ways, it's tech has been better implemented as far as enhancing the gaming experience is concerned. As usual, Nintendo showed off some fancy, innovative hardware with little to lackluster software behind it. Me wonders if buyers are stupid enough to fall for the sa...
To be fair, Microsoft is simply concerned with one thing and one thing only, the bottom line. In other words...$$$. I can't really fault them for that (who doesn't want to stick with what's profitable) but while I don't blame them, I won't commend them the way I will Sony with regards to fresh and unique first party content aimed at HC gamers.
One thing I REALLY appreciate with Sony is their willingness to take risks (or at the very least, back studios t...
As a whole, I thought Sony did a fine job this year. They didn't dodge the PSN outage (even going so far as to poke fun at it here and there) and their first party lineup was impressive as ever.
As far as the PS3 is concerned, I wasn't exactly blown away by Sony's presentation, mainly because we all kind of knew what to expect. Plus they had so many titles to show off they kind of rushed a few of the presentations. The Resistance 3 demo felt kind of slapped tog...
As an AT&T customer, it pains me to say this, but AT&T is a F'in FAIL. If my friend hadn't hooked me up with such a great, discounted rate, I'd have hopped on to Verizon a long time ago.
I think it's hilarious how butthurt the fanboys get when someone has something negative to say about anything even remotely related to the Playstation brand, even an exclusive third party game. I challenge anyone to justify the notion that Dust was at all a good looking game visually or in any way innovative in terms of gameplay. Battlefield 3, Resistance 3 and Uncharted 3 all looked WAY better.
Might have just been me, but the gameplay and visuals didn't look very good at all during the presentation. The integration with EVE Online sounded VERY interesting but Dust on it's own didn't look very impressive.
In that case, shoot Priceman. I don't get Ubisoft. They straight insult everyone when they pretend like gamers are all five year old boys who'll get a kick out of d**k jokes. You wanna wow gamers, develop and publish good games.
Someone please take Joel McHale out back and shoot him. The guy does nothing but embarrass himself on stage and while Ubisoft had a few nice games to show off today, asshat McFAIL was a nonstop distraction.
I watched three fights. Sektor vs. Kratos, Baraka vs. Smoke and Kabal vs. Jade. You guys all suck.
I'm generally against studios that charge for pre-order bonuses released as DLC down the road as I feel like it's yet another way they nickel and dime customers...BUT, Mortal Kombat was packed with so much content from the start, I think this is one case where you could make an exception. So many characters already have alternates from the story mode which you can unlock and you already have so much content to play for from the outset, that I can't really say I mind them charging...
