That's exactly what I just said out loud when I read that headline.
I buy A LOT of games every month but I haven't paid full price for a single game since that price hike (30% overnight?!?... f*ck that). I now ONLY buy games either deeply discounted or used. That essentially equates to zero profits out of my hard earned wages and that's the consequence publishers pay for being so greedy.
I have a backlog of 4 or 5 hundred games, so I have all the time in the world for a game to drop to a reasonable price.
I might possibly pay $90 for...
I've bought and played every single COD game and have never touched the multiplayer on any of them.
I have occasionally felt a little gypped by a campaign that was too brief but for the most part, have enjoyed them all.
Same for every Battlefield that's had a campaign.
I read a reviewer ask that question yesterday "What the hell has Rare been doing all those years", which led me to my next thought: the game has probably been gutted for dlc.
Yesterday, I watched the GDC Unity symposium and was impressed by the progress being made in the engine and then I watched Epic's State Of Unreal symposium and I was blown away.
The 3Lateral Siren and Osiris demonstrations were jaw-dropping and the real-time ray tracing demonstration was just stunning.
The future of gaming is looking incredible.
"Like I said before it’s quite short DLC, but the fact that its free (if you own the season pass, 11.99 otherwise) means you cant really criticise the length"
Free? WTF? Do you think the money you paid for the season pass was a donation?? The reviewer is an idiot.
Did YOU read the article?
It's about the author's long-winded inquest into the legitimacy of the characters as Roman numerals.
It doesn't talk about the reason for the design choice.
They probably went with IIII because
a.) symmetry in the logo design
b.) the characters IV have been burned into the gamer psyche as being associated to the GTA franchise.
and maybe Civ too.
You just trying to be provocative?
Quantum Break is one of the best exclusives on the xbone and one of the best games this generation.
It's innovative story-telling and a fantastic sci-fi game.
"...with that out of the way..."
No, it's not out of the way. You've had waaay too much of that american anti-communist propaganda kool-aid.
The nefarious organization you're thinking of is Spectre, not Marxism.
The ESRB (aka the gaming industry) is being deliberately obtuse with the new box label by lumping loot boxes in with any and every other type of dlc and micro-transaction. Just about every game will now carry the new label because just about every game has extra purchasable content, thereby obfuscating the entire original purpose and point of it.
They think that they can be sly and pull the wool over the eyes of lawmakers by pretending they are addressing the issue while so...
There are tons of worthwhile game on the IGC list, but I almost always already have them.
That's ok though, the discounts definitely make the subscription worthwhile. I saved a couple of hundred dollars during the 4 week long end of 2017 holiday sale alone.
So you don't have to click though 10 f*cking pages:
Stardew Valley
Axiom Verge
Tetris
Minecraft
Thomas Was Alone
Roller Coaster Tycoon
Legendary Gary
Braid
Undertale
Cave Story
"an overlap from time to time"
It's been nearly a year (maybe more) since the last time PS+ delivered a game that I was both interested in and didn't already have.
For me, PS+ only becomes worthwhile at the point when the cumulative discounts on purchases surpass the annual subscription price.
I'm not sure why newnormative keeps getting posted here. Games or gaming is obviously not the point of the site.
@TFJWM
Hmmm, you know what... with MS obliterating any exclusive IP on the Xbone X, I think I'll have to concede your point. Sadly, it's also the strongest argument against any further iterations of the Xbox.
Ok, get yourself a PS4 and a good PC and enjoy the best of both worlds.
You are absolutely right... and a good pc too.
The downvotes are coming from misguided fools who are missing out.
Didn't they settle on Venus?
@ Parasyte
Thank you for saving me from having to jump in.
As far as the article is concerned, am I the only one who thinks it's kind of funny?
Confirmed: Black Ops 4 will be the first C.o.D. that I will NOT be buying.
I have 14 of them on my shelf and have no interest in / never touched the multiplayer on any of them.
