I sure as f*ck hope so.
The anti-consumer problems that arise from having a myriad of streaming "competitors" is already really starting to become evident in the film/tv streaming space at the moment.
Right now it's just a bunch of corporations acting like sharks in a feeding frenzy; grabbing off as many chunks of the entertainment industry as they can in the hope that their pieces will be the ones that will drive us to subscribe to their version of Netflix. Th...

It was heaven for jrpg lovers. It was a mind numbing overdose of Final Fantasy for me, and that Avengers reveal was pretty f*cking meh as well. Not everyone is into the same sameness as you. None of my favourite Squenix ips were even mentioned so yeah, the show was pretty f*cking meh for me too.

I agree. It was easily my favourite E3 "conference'" but damn, that endless "First Ever 3rd Or 4th E3 Pre-Pre Show!" devolved (yes, intended) very quickly into madness and misery.
It was like an all-access cable channel set up in an insane asylum.

Mmm hmm..."authenticity" you say?
You'll first require some Sean Murray level redemption before anything you say has any ring of "authenticity" to it, Todd.
Gameplay or just gtfo.

Serial killer?? What the hell are you talking about?

You do realize that just one of the many joys of playing video games is the fact that you can do things that you shouldn't, couldn't, would never think to do irl, right?

Yeah, no, I'm not okay with that.
Floating powers-ups, big floating question marks, rows of colourful potions, treasure chests, collect the f*cking coins??... seriously?? WTF?!?
If I wanted to play a children's platformer, I would have bought a Nintendo console.
Enjoy your Super Mario-Doom. I'm out.

Devolver. Just like last year and the year before.

I honestly thought it was just a gag at first.

For some. Definitely for FF and JRPG fans. There was zero mention of my favourite SE titles
My mind was numb from all the sameness by the end of the show.

Your forgot about ultimate corporate douchebag, psychotic Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard.
A supreme creep who is personally worth 7 billion and who's own salary from the company could pay the average salary of 300 of his employees, yet he laid off 800 of them last quarter... in a year in which the company pulled in $7.5 billion and a record $1.8 billion in profit.
I would say he's a lizard wearing a human skin suit, but that would just be unfair to reptiles...

Was I the only one disappointed by the Doom Eternal gameplay?? What happened to the mature rated sci-fi/ horror?
It looked to be like they mashed Doom into a Nintendo kid's platformer complete with the floating power-ups, treasure boxes, health crates, floating question marks and rows of colourful potions and collectibles. Wtf did i miss? Why am I the only one with a problem with this?

"Criminally Underrated "
I have to agree with that assessment. The unique time manipulation mechanics and intelligent storytelling made it my personal favourite xbox exclusive. I could have done without the live action stuff, but even that was done well and integrated well enough.

This is one of the most disgusting articles I've read in a long time. It and it's author are disconnected from reality and the language used to reference gamers and it's own audience is pathetic, hostile and outright insulting.
"Giving gamers a voice in journalism" is ironic and disingenuous. Coin-drop is now on my blacklist.

Every goddamned year the same completely stupid "relevance" question is brought by various idiots in game journalism. It's still the biggest gaming show in the world... bigger than tgs, pax, gdc, gamescom, etc... and it's anticipated by and tuned in to by more gamers around the world than any other game show in the world. Stop presenting the notion of it's questioned relevance as if it's an actual thing.

Review bombing does serve a very importance purpose.
It's the gaming equivalent of a protest (usually) against publishers that are otherwise unreachable, untouchable, willfully ignorant of an issue (that they are usually responsible for creating) or who just don't generally give a f*ck until you affect their bottom line.
Review bombing is not the problem; it's a response to a problem, and quite often the only recourse available that will actually elicit a respons...

Yeah, I sort of agree. You just listed off five of my favourite franchises.
I am really hoping they redeem themselves soon because '76 was a very big pile of shame to be crawling out from under... especially after Todd's stream of lies last E3. It's going to be very hard for anybody to be taking anything he has to say seriously anymore.

I guess Vegas 2 will have been the last Rainbow Six game for me. Don't want my money? Fine, someone else will get it. Remy's absurd analogy tells me that he's either e.s.l. or his bulb is a little dim.

Wow. Everything I've read about the game makes me more interested in playing it. Ethically ambiguous situations and/or provocative narratives usually make for a more compelling experience in any game geared toward adults; especially a combat game. If this one is too much for your psyche, perhaps you should stick with the Nintendo platform.

A developer's only obligation is to make sure there's an appropriate age rating on the box. Beyond that, all bets are off and the gaming industry should be held to no different standard than any other medium.
As a game dev, Spector should have understood the complete lack of context better than any of those schmucks in the white house but instead he chose to jump on the judgmental idiot bandwagon and run his mouth off.
If he doesn't have the stomach to make SS3 -...
