Exactly, I agree on all accounts of what you said.

We don't know what kind of Hack was done to PSN. It might have been a single user hack, might of been an all out attack, might have been a selected region attack. Who knows besides Sony right now.

People can keep assuming this Hack took down the network, but the fact remains that Sony took it down before the Hack/Attack/Intrusion could do more damage, or any damage at all.

Probably because a simple hardware hack that was discovered early on allowed the playing of pirated games on the Xbox360. In order to play pirated games on the PS3 a software hack to get the master key seemed to be the only way.

Could be wrong, but just a thought.

Haha, love how I am watching Attack of the Show now and they are saying the "charges" rumor going around is not true. That no one has had money charged to their card.

Not saying this isn't true, but just think about it. No body truly knows if info is leaked, there are people out there that make fake stories, hmmmm..... opportunity taken with this article?

If it is true, sorry, and contact your bank.

I'm sure there are regulations in place that require them to inform people whether or not their personal information is stolen.

With that said, this type of thing happens to big corporations. They know how to deal with it. My brother's girlfriend just had a baby at our local hospital in September. They sent her a letter saying her information was stolen last month. Yes it's cause to worry, but I'm sure they know how to handle it. Just like I'm sure a ...

As it should. It should out perform it by many times.

Especially since it's new hardware.

@Joe

True, that could very well be the case. But I'm a little more optimistic than that.

haha, yea that's what it seems like.

But I'm looking at it like this. If they gave us another "update", then progress must be being made, at least I would like to think that haha. But obviously they are not going to give us exact details given it was a security issue.

Well thankfully he gave me a game to keep me happily occupied for the next day or two.

@Nomad

Actually people do go around with several tags, usually 2 to 3 given you get a free month on the first few tags of a system. I think that number is 3. Almost everyone I know on XBL has more than one tag, same for PSN. In my personal experience some of the worst trash talkers and trouble makers I've played with were on XBL.

Also to say PSN is like Free TV compared to cable is ignorant. It's as if your playing down its features, which are co...

I know right. I mean I like playing online and all, but some people are letting this effect them a bit to much.

Now I know some of you like to play online. For those people, I know this sucks, but in almost 5 years this is probably the longest PSN has been down that I can remember. I've been a PS3 user since 07.

If there was a point in time it was down any longer, I don't remember it, showing just how little it effected me and my life.

The only compensation that would make sense is extending the time PS Plus content is offered and extend Beta's that PS Plus members are a part of and can't play.

This covers those who didn't download a game or other discounted item prior to the outage and those who are in special betas.

Everyone else plays for free. No monetary compensation is needed.

Interesting. Makes sense though

Cool, I just got the highest score to, BG1110.

Guess people don't like pork pies.....

Anyway, I haven't had a problem yet, I've signed in fine over the past few days. Actually just got off KZ3.

But I guess I'm lucky for now seeing as how others are having issues.

Xbox Live needs to do the same thing. Especially for games on demand, which are way overpriced in some instances.

I think Prey was 30 dollars on Games on Demand, I could get it at Gamestop for like 10.

Digital media in general is overpriced on consoles. But you could always argue the incentives. Delete your game, download it again. Snap your disc, then what?

All I know is if they are saying they are pushing everything to the max, then there will be a difference between all three, period.

It was a DLC level. You played on a moving train.

It was also sort of interactive because you could be killed by lights (something) hanging over head and also by posts between the trains if you leaped between them at the wrong time.

I agree, sold is sold. I have 2 move controllers. Thats 2 sales for Sony.

Also consider the blatant lack of marketing, which was questionable on their part, and the shove down your throat marketing Kinect had when it was launching. Which wasn't a bad idea considering how it paid off for MS.

Those things effect what consumers purchase. Plus Kinect has that feel of "new" even though the idea of controlling games without controllers has be done...

I understand what your saying, but I doubt they will use it for those purposes.

Same here.

Also an 80% leap over competition isn't that much when you consider the PS2 was roughly 10 times more powerful than the PS1 and the PS3 is roughly 10 times more powerful than the PS2.

I would also expect the next Xbox to be many times more powerful than the current. Same with the PS4.
