That was a very random comment. I've scrolled through the comments here before yours and the majority (not all) are either against the leak, or giving due ridicule to Cliffy B.
But of course you bring up the PS3 hacking, hmmm... what do your people call that, damage control? That's right, damage control.
EDIT: One person who probably fits your comment is khawaja07, that guy/girl is just an idiot.
Fastest selling and highest preorders are completely different.
In the time it took Gears 3 to accumulate 1 million preorders Halo and GT5 sold over 6 million retail copies.
Also Killzone 2, yeah that game from waaaay back when, had over 1 million preorders as well. While it is an amazing feat to accomplish, it is not the first time I've seen it happen.
@firelogic
True true. Good point as well. It must just be an agreement between Sony and the publisher in general then.
I have to say I'm jealous, I have a small collection of 3D enabled games but haven't acquired a 3D television yet.
Also what part of Philadelphia? I live in South West Philadelphia, by Bartram High School.
Going to be interesting to see them top LBP 2. A game to make games haha.
But I'm sure they can with new tools, materials, control over more gameplay aspects, etc...
I sadly could not pick up LBP 2 but was part of the Beta and have seen some gameplay of user created levels. I regret not buying it now.
I believe those collections were priced at that point because they were published by Sony for the PS3 exclusively. Sony also prices their Move games at 39.99.
MS on the other hand prices Kinect games at 49.99. And this collection is heading to MS's Xbox 360 as well. So I guess Konami is just taking advantage of that.
EDIT: As Nitro said as well, good point, that game is relatively new. But Nitro the Sly collection was 3 games, so they did release a 3...
Good point. Customers, especially not technically savvy, will feel more comfortable adapting to a familiar user interface.
What's funny is my brother says the XMB is "complicated", but he's had to adapt to 3 different user interfaces on the 360 since he picked his up. It is simple, has always been simple. The fact that it hasn't changed much is a testament to it's simplicity.
That is fine, but just because your content does not mean they are equal in performance.
Even if equal in the tracking space as you claim, though move has the ability to recreate your movements 1:1 on screen while motion plus does not because Move tracks in 3D space. That to me makes it the clear winner.
But your opinion is your opinion, I wont disagree with that.
I was at the Montgomery Hill Mall yesterday in PA, played Motorstorm in 3D in a Mammoth store. 106 inch pre-production 3D tv.
Have to say it was awesome. The glasses even felt nice over my prescription glasses. The 3D was subtle for the most part, but when objects started flying towards you it seemed like they were coming off the screen quite a bit.
Move also tracks in 3D space though, making games like The Fight possible on Move and not Wii Motion Plus. That is due to the inclusion of a camera.
I've even used Wii Motion Plus and have to say the difference is larger than you make it out to be.
I don't see those people either. Sure there may be a few, or a group of them out there. But they might not have been knowledgeable of those facts. No reason to call them chumps. I'm sure you didn't know something at one point of your life and were proven wrong, or learned from someone kind enough to teach. So why not be kind about it?
And these stories and comments like yours do not need to be "reiterated over and over". We get it, most people get ...
What's not to "handle"? The graphics, simple, lower the resolution. Which is obvious for such a small screen anyway.
I don't see anything else that would make you say that.
But of course if you want to elaborate I'm always open to opinions, you can add it to your comment or PM me.
Helghast
I agree with your point that gameplay is the most important factor, but story at the end?
Seems almost contradictory. Especially with music being more important than story and physics? Which arguably contribute to the gameplay experience.
@Edit: I agree music can create a greater sense of immersion. But I just fail to see how that differs from graphics creating a greater sense of immersion. Or story tugging at your feelings to c...
@zinkabass
I don't know about illegal, but it certainly does raise some questions.
Why pay full price for video games when you don't get the full product, single player and multiplayer?
So you are effectively paying twice for the multiplayer piece of the game, given you were interested in the multiplayer section.
As Daily said, he pays for the features. I feel if you are going to pay $60 for BF3 like me on PS3 you ...
Carmack is a smart guy, but lets give credit to his development team as well. Those are the guys pushing those CPU cycles and making sure the game hits it framerate target, etc...
I think that is funny. Sure BF3 may be getting more pre-orders at the moment AKA sales (I'll be pre-ordering my copy soon). But I highly highly doubt BF3 will come even remotely close to outselling MW3.
It doesn't come down to which game is better, that is opinion. But just look at the sales history. COD selling over 20 million with the last two entries into the series.
What about Battlefield? Much, much less.
Doesn't mean ...
Agreed, I've already played UC3 Beta more than UC2 multplayer. I find it to be a better experience.
I find it funny when people say that, "I don't care about the competition" "The competition doesn't worry me/us", etc....
Do they thing that makes them look tough? Confident?
All it does is make them look like bad business people. A true business person would always be keeping an eye on the competition, how else are you supposed to compete?
PS2 also had online as well, just not as structured as Xbox Live.
But I believe that is the point, like it or not Xbox Live gave online gaming a structure on consoles. Built up a community with friends lists, etc... which is why people credit it for it's online service.
I like the "slew" of first party games though. Doesn't hold true today as much as it did in the past.
Personally though my top two systems would be PS3 and...
Okay, I was bringing two high selling GAME series into this, don't know why it has to be PS3 vs 360 all of a sudden. You said "exclusive", that to me read as exclusive on either of the 3 main home consoles.
Sorry I'm a gamer and play on more than one console.
Also Halo Reach sold millions in the time it took Gears to accumulate over 1 million pre orders. Do you get what I'm sayin? If Halo Reach and Gears 3 were both on the market at t...
