They are not talking about Native resolutions.
Sure the comment section is ablaze with talk about native resolutions and PC's, etc...
But the developer is referencing SUPPORTED OUTPUT resolutions.
What led me to that conclusion? The fact that I know what the question was truly asking and his answer, "support 720p output".
The game could still be 720p native and output 1080p, plenty of games do it nowadays.
I agree.
And for the PC guys, I always keep seeing 1080p on all games and high framerates.
But what about details? According to Steam, the majority of PC gamers are still running a 9800GT from Nvidia. Sure it could probably run B3 in 1080p at 60 frames, but at what visual quality? Very low I'd assume. But even being modest, your not going to get the full visual experience on an older generation card.
1080p and Framerates aren't ...
You know if you read the article the developer is talking about supported resolutions.
AKA Upscallable resolutions, not native.
The game will only support 720p output. Output being the key word that makes me conclude they are talking about output resolutions, not Native game resolutions.
A great example of a non native 1080p game running in 1080p is ironically Call of Duty. Another is Grand Theft Auto 4. Both non-native 1080p that can be d...
Why are the majority of comments here referring to 1080p NATIVE resolutions?
The developers and article are talking about SUPPORTED resolutions. AKA Upscalled resolutions. The game does not have to be native 1080p to run at 1080p.
Call of Duty anyone? Just a prime example, a 640p Native game that runs at 1080p.
MRHARDON
Let me try to put this bluntly.
Did someone make 2048 bit encryption?
YES... Well then someone can "break" it.
Hackers are the opposite of the people who build your 2048 bit encryption technologies. They know how to make it to, and how to break it. Might be a hard job, but I'm sure it can be accomplished by a hacker with the right skill set.
Weren't PC gamers complaining that Crysis 2 was held back because of consoles? And that it was consolized?
You will see that type of "snobbery" anywhere, PC, Console, Portable, etc...
I'm glad Sony took PSN down and went through a security restructuring. Seems that they took the intrusion more serious than any other recently hacked company.
Rather have a newly updated secure network to play across than one I'm not sure is secure after details have presumably been leaked.
just sayin'
You can still steal encrypted information. Just saying.
Decryption it is another task.
Yea, because there was a market for that.
Just like there is a market for games with no controllers, motion controllers, simple controllers, touch screens, etc...
How would you feel if driving could only be done in a Honda Civic? Some might like it, but others are going to want the F150 experience, or the Corvette experience, etc... Might not be the best analogy, but I'm sure you understand what I'm getting at.
EDIT: I'm with K...
Disagree's for mentioning Killzone 2 I guess.
But I suppose I shouldn't jump to conclusions, maybe someone will tell me why they disagree?
I don't think it is. I've heard and read several places that the PS2 as 10x more powerful than the PS1, just as the PS3 was 10x more powerful than the PS2.
I would not be surprised if the PS4 is 10x more powerful than the PS3 (Not extremely hard to do with a new wave of GPU's and CPU architectures slated to launch before the next gen systems).
Same with the Xbox, the next one will more than likely be 10x more powerful than the current. Even the ...
Just curious, what are your specs?
CPU, GPU, RAM, Cooling Solutions, PS, Motherboard, etc...
I know if I was a PC gamer with a nice rig I would want to share the specs.
EDIT: Below, I agree with the provoking part. Why comment on console footage if you don't care right?
Good point Raven on the PC sales. Shows that there was at least console sales growth for the series between the first and second game.
But the pre orders don't always tell such a clear story. Killzone 2 for example had over 1 million pre orders, as does Gears of War 3, but only went on to sell less than 3 million if I remember correctly.
With that said though, I think Gears of War 3 could prove to be a different case, since their was growth between the ...
Hmmm.... Looks like I'll be picking up a copy of Gears of War 3 to go with my Brothers copy..... Maybe 2, or 3.
Just kidding, but that would be interesting if Gears 3 did hit 10 million. Especially since the growth from the first to the second was minuscule.
Even reaching sales of 6 million, (to match the previous 2 games), would be an accomplishment because of all the good games coming out in that short time period.
I'm sure you could post this on a forum for more responses. But I'll try to help. I'll keep it simple to just so you know the basics, everything else if up to your personal preference.
The Xbox 360
Pro's:
- Active community, a lot of the community have microphones
- Cross Game Voice chat
- Social media tied directly into Dashboard
- Newer models have built in WiFi
- 250 GB model $50 cheaper than 250 GB PS3
While I'm sure that will be the case, it will be for varying reasons.
Some positive comments would be from fanboys, or whatever you want to call Sony fans. Some would be from gamers who know that FPS titles can work on Move, since it was proven. And there will always be the hate comments.
Also, there are some positive comments on here, so stop trolling, or instigating, or whatever you want to call it that your doing.
EDIT: Spelling
I only mentioned "photo shopped" because those are the terms in the article.
How do you think the photo was made then? I guess the words just magically referred to a left handed DS, the controller itself magically had the buttons on the opposite sides. The photo was clearly MADE, not just swapped.
No reason to act all high and mighty. I was going to use other words but don't want to offend you.
Oh I found it funny. I can see why it was posted, which is why I didn't Flag it.
Just making sure people don't just jump in and take it too serious. But then again, if someone doesn't read the article, why would they read my comment? haha.
Its actually looking like $2 per day for video games.
Not a bad price I suppose if you can dedicate a day to just gaming. Get the most bang for your buck.
I just don't see how the dev saying 720p output means native resolution.
I know the game wont be 1080p NATIVE, only a fool would think that, or someone who is less informed. But that doesn't mean the game can't support 1080p output. Which is what I believe the dev was saying, it won't support those outputs.
