Anything with a 50% price cut will "obviously" sell thirty times as much? Take an economics class will you? This really is unusual and impressive.
It goes to show just how many people were interested in the game but just not quite ready to shell out full price for it. I'm glad valve was able to bring them all in.
I'd still really like to see a breakdown of how the three Xbox SKUs are selling relative to each other. I bet the arcade was huge during the holidays, but isn't the top seller right now. I know literally nobody with an arcade model.
I was one of those sales. Great game but not quite enough content to sway me to drop $50 or $60. Very happy with my purchase for $25, I had a blast mowing down zombies with friends all weekend.
Don't forget MGS4. Almost every one of my friends with a PS3 bought the MGS4 bundle last year.
What often fails to be included in these discussions is how these exclusives affected sales of the original game. When multiplatform owners were deciding which console to buy GTAIV for, I imagine exclusive upcoming expansions were important to that decision. I don't own both consoles, but if I did I would have chosen the Xbox version for that reason.
To take it even further, many people undoubtedly bought their first console of this generation upon the release of GTA. Exclus...

I'm excited that this team is staying together, they are very talented. I'm happy about the news that they're working on Halo Wars content too, since I plan to buy the game and the RTS genre is great for DLC.
It sounds like basically the same people are going to be working on similar projects, but without the same contractual obligations they once had to Microsoft. Sounds like good news for gamers all around.

Why is everyone acting like Microsoft is using the Halo franchise for this game to "deceive" gamers or "disguise" a bad game? It's nothing different from what's been done with Mario, Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, etc for decades. Microsoft has found themselves with a strong, successful IP and is rightfully looking to expand it. Stop inventing things to hate and judge the game on its own merits.
Is it not newsworthy unless it's claiming one game is better than the other? Not every article on here has to be fanboy fuel, some are just interesting.
Disagrees? Do people not realize the name of the game is "Banjo-Kazooie", not "Banjo and Kazooie"? It's not a big deal, I just consider that a dead giveaway that someone hasn't actually played the game.
