"It wasn't the "best selling" (that implies more units sold) but rather, the DLC brought more "revenue" (which implies money) on DAY 1 than any other piece of DLC. "
I would wager it is both. What other 360 DLC realistically could have done better. MAYBE Castle Crashers?
I'm sure it hasn't sold more than something like Uno has cumulatively, but I'd bet a fortune it's sold more than Uno sold in its first two weeks.
And gr...
Uh... wow. It's simply a snappy way of saying "I'm going to be playing my Wii for the first time in a long while." There is little to no actual dusting in the future of people who use this saying. Chill.
That said, I'm off to dust off my Wii.
Warhammer looked good, but Blizzard played this perfectly. Releasing Wrath, which was fantastic, just weeks after Warhammer came out drove everyone back to WoW from the looks of it.
I can't tell if you're pro- or anti-Mad World. And this is N4G, you can't possibly be neutral.
Right, though I do trust IGN's integrity, exclusive deals with the publisher always cast a shadow of doubt on reviews. I'll be interested to see what others say.
Still, after watching IGN's video review it's hard to deny that the game looks very, very fun.
Why is IGN the only place with reviews of this game today? Is it an exclusivity thing or is the game just not getting much press?
Me too. I'm excited to dust off my Wii. =D
I'm kind of expecting it early- to mid-2010, with a Starcraft release each holiday.
But anyway, Blizzard never sets release dates very far in advance, and while I'm sure they have rough internal timelines I'd bet they don't even have dates set internally. I don't think there's any date that could leak that would be correct because Blizz simply hasn't set one.
I hate that it uses 30 minutes per game, when in reality the average game is about 1/3 that. It's not that relevant to the point he's making, but I just hate when people exaggerate to try to make the numbers look more impressive.
"The "Americas?" Umm..that's every country from Canada down to the tip of Chile and Argentina. Way to be specific."
Yeah but that is exactly what vgcharts means. And they're not known for their specificity anyway.
I think N4G is simply known for hate.
Selling a lot of copies does not make a game good. I have Mario Party 8. It isn't great. And I don't think anyone here is arguing that Carnival Games is worth a buy.
And of course reviews are just opinion. They are editorial by definition. If you go to one looking for anything else you are going to be disappointed.
I can say it but don't see how it applies. If you direct your attention to the fourth sentence of your post, you'll see that they do post both sales, just separately. Sounds like they're trying for extra hits is all.
Why must we cry bias at every headline with only one console name in it?
If making guns take 1/8 of a second to respond to the trigger in games is "innovation", I'm with DirtyLary.
A lot of this site's reports just seem to not "get it". Only a newcomer would ever unseat the top seller on a list... a game topping the charts after debuting lower is practically unheard of.
It's also astounding that WotLK has stayed #1 for over 3 months before anything released that could compete. Only Wii Play, Fit, and Sports, have had similar feats.
Link is borked?
If this is true I'm definitely heading to best buy tonight. No reason to pass up this game for $10.
To say Harmonix has "solved" the problem seems like giving them a little too much credit. Using the face buttons was the natural worst case scenario solution. I don't see how rock band would be any fun when it's just tapping four buttons in a diamond layout.
It may have come out, but the writers of this article aren't alone if they didn't notice.
Read articles maybe? To people both above and below me, this article doesn't talk about exclusives at all, it's not really relevant. In fact, the only time the word "exclusive" appears is in discussion of Killzone 2, and how its exclusivity keeps it from being as large a lift for the gaming industry as it could be if it was for multiple consoles.
Not every article is about PS3 vs. Xbox if you actually look at the words.
On an unrelated note, stop usin...
Sony hasn't said anything about them though. Just vgcharts and other estimate sites. Hopefully Sony will speak up about how happy they are with the numbers once NPDs are released soon. Not that they would say anything except that they are thrilled.
