Random explosions kill you because some crap player died again and spammed his or her nades/tubes after spawning for potential lucky kills.

Shooters should be about GUNS, CoD isn't anymore. If they allowed dedis (in MW), the community would fix it for them on PC. But having dedis would mean they couldn't charge for that stats tracking junk that everyone else provides totally for free. It costs them literally nothing to be able to provide dedis, the engine they are rec...

I just want it to feel like 3 and not skimp out on content.

3 will be hard to beat... but if they aim at the same standard they will find themselves over achieving and a great game will emerge.

"You’re really getting the game for free but you have to pre-buy credits in the beginning. We might go fully free-to-play down the line, but in the beginning we have a cover charge just to manage the initial launch of it."

If they want a big fanbase it will have to be free to play from launch.

The reason you have to buy credits is because it is economically linked to Eve Online where you can pay for your time in-game by grinding a bit here and there...

That would probably make sense a08andan.

But I think they are waiting until they can get the graphics performance they are after - that is where the big costs will be. Even the 360's CPU is _almost_ good enough for anything a developer wants to implement.

Next gen console hardware will be all about the graphics chip, other technologies are way above the requirements of modern games today (because that is the position PCs are at, and they represent the cur...

If the next gen comes out in a year or 2 then yes it will be dissapointing. It won't be possible to get true next gen hardware in a machine at the necessary price point ($300 - $450 thereabouts).

Sure... maby proper 1080p support, GPU tesselation, more RAM, generally more graphics performance for shaders, polygons and texturing.

But for a developer to properly go nuts with next gen features they need something very beastly. I would give it until 2013 for ...

Microtransactions can be a good thing, but they can also be a bad thing - and usually are because the developers/publishers implementing it don't understand what gamers/players want properly.

Take League of Legends for example. You can experience all the gameplay without paying a penny. Paying for exp/ip boosts or characters can speed up your 'progress' but the game is so fun anyway that I really didn't see any need to do that - I only bought a couple of chara...

This is how the games industry keeps pushing the boundaries, collaboration between peers. Nice :P

"And I’m hoping one day that the world will realise that EA isn’t the mean marketing machine that it might have been in the past and that we’re trying to do the right thing, and I’m glad to be a part of that."

Maybe if their QA testers wern't useless for anything except sports titles... And if their servers worked and weren&#...

I want a Burnout like 3 again, that was the best by miles.

Sales in the arcade racing genre have been suffering recently as costs have been increasing, so they probably didn't want to make another big budget burnout incase it suffered from poor sales. Loads of companies are scaling back to make casual games these days because they have to in the economic climate.

It really does cost many millions to make a high-quality console release and they would make ...

Well deserved. Dirt 3 is great and, now I havn't played FEAR 3, but I would assume it is a mere shadow of it's former self like 2 was; they won't be able to recreate the magic of FEAR again.

It isn't going to be PS3 exclusive (They would be throwing away half their sales, Take2 just don't do that). But I wouldn't be surprised if it is marketed in relation to the PS3, as IV was with the 360.

They are both clusterfucks.

But sometimes you can't actually read the text on PSN store when the background image is the same colour as the font... silly Sony Europe's fault for not paying attention to their own responsibility.

XBL responds really slowly, so it takes ages to navigate.

GTA5 would seem like a good bet as to what it could be. It is exactly the kind of game release that would be announced in a big way like this, with built up anticipation.

I have been expecting it's anouncement soon ('A little bird' told me it would be going gold at the end of this year or Q1 next year... Also confirming it's San Andreas location - I guess I can say that on here because nobody will trust me as a source anyway :P), but it would surprise me a bit...

But there are probably other Sony things/designs in there somewhere...

I hate the sign in thingy because it isn't transparent enough. It comes up and gets in the way, has huge clunky buttons and is slow to respond/laggy.

If it just happened in the background, I would be fine with it.

For a game to get GFWL status it needs to support controllers, though CoD World at War didn't... It says that somewhere on the msdn. GFWL represents MS in the PC gaming side of things; but they could be doing a much better job...

The annoying thing about many games is that their input is tuned for controllers, so it feels strange with a mouse compared to the PC games most people are used to - that is my problem with console ports.

lol, why are all those predictions of what next gen consoles will look like always really bad; If I had made one of those, I would look at it and immediately realise it looked stupid and proceed to delete the file.

I want a new Rollcage, wipeout has prooved itself as a worthy arcade racing game - it should move over and let Rollcage's full potential take off.

And they should persuade Mistwalker to make an RPG exclusive (the return of good Final Fantasy). They don't have internal competition to worry about considering Square Enix are multiplat now - and a Mistwalker game intending to be like FF would attract the same fanbase - it would be a smart business move. Lost Odyssey was g...

Yeah the screenshots are mildly intriguing.

I would like a screenshot of the menu, to see if they have made it better :P

ME3 will be amazing if there is a lot more actual content to explore, I hate all of those generic planets everywhere that aren't actually content. ME1 and 2 didn't seem fleshed out enough but they where good games apart from all the bugs.

ME got the balance between casual and hardcore pretty good.

It keeps the player's mind wondering without actually having a great deal of substance to the game, but what it does have is great.

The talking stuff is often just fluff though, they try to put forward the character's thoughts and emotions but most of the time it seems like bioware think they are better at it than they are. Also the game feels a bit clunky - a bit like gears but with less ref...
