Smart phones are not handheld consoles. That would be like calling a PC a console (sort of).
Enix will just butcher it. FF8 ended perfectly and doesn't need any spinoffs (you can point out holes in any story if you want).
@jthamind, just out of curiosity. Did you think 8 would be a continuation of 7? Most people hate 8 because they played 7 first and didn't understand that FF games were mostly in different universes, then stopped playing early on and didn't give 8 a chance.

I would buy it if they weren't going to make it obsolete with another installment every damn year. A game like CoD is good enough to survive an evolving multiplayer community for some time, but they prevent that from happening like it did for MW1 and so many other great multiplayer titles.

You picked up CoD too late. For single player you want 1, 2 and 4 (MW1) and for multiplayer you want 2 and 4 (they are still active enough on PC to get a filled server).
