Looks great. Stiff animations though but I don't think that was the point :P

BF3 looks better though most of the time.

Yeah. It's "not as easy" because you don't have it set up at present. It makes perfect sense to be honest and I wouldn't go out of my way to set up my PC to play it and/or upgrade or buy a new PC for any 1 game either. I just already have it like that for so many other games...

I played MM before OOT and thought MM was better for ages, then I eventually came around to decide OOT is the best. I did the same thing with ff8 and ff7.

I've yet to play Skyward Sword, looking forward to it. But I'd rather use a pad because it isn't really about the combat for me I just want to take in the narrative/puzzles/environment etc.

Financial failures are more common on consoles than PC tbh - especially since the uptake in digital distribution. (Stalker came about a little before digital distribution exploded but it was a huge financial success without DRM)

Ah, well... there have been some blundering MMO failures but that is because the games themselves were bad not because they were on PC.

# Staff costs are lower (dont need experts in a particular platform, there is a massive pool of PC...

No idea why people hate you :S
Well actually I do it's because they are morons. But don't worry, it's not just N4G - like 70% of the world's population are morons; most of them have an excuse though but not the ones here on N4G.

More onto the point, I'm so glad they are not actually closing ^_^ (are they? I am confuzzled)

I loved Cossacks but couldn't get into Stalker (had a bad graphics card so I borrowed it but I can max it e...

There are no games worth playing anymore so I don't need XBL Gold.

I play multiplats on PC and am not interested in Gears' multiplayer.

I had an original XBL account and was one of the early customers before there were even a million subscribers, MS have turned their back on gamers so I no longer want to be one of their customers.
It's a free market - I voted with my wallet and cancelled my subscription. I voted against their business mode...

Caus cross game chat is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO important right?

He's probably talking about PCs/TVs/Laptops not the PS3 because you don't need xbl gold for that stuff on xbox anyway (so it wouldn't be a valid comparison and you are just trolling).
Who would pay a fee (internet connection) to pay an extra fee (xbl gold) to pay a fee (sky etc.) would they?

It's just a comment lol. It's hardly malice.

At least Move is stable and smooth unlike other motion controllers (that Razer thing is even more stable and smooth though but meh).

screenshots of multiplayer...

Looks pretty bad (messy and unfair) in video form (related). But it's too early to judge it.

If they put those stupid rocket enemies in it again that spammed in NG2 then I'll not be buying it anyway, otherwise I'll get it for single player like most people probably will. I just hope they don't waste too much time on the MP and ruin the whole thing.

I still have NG2 to complete sitting around somew...

"it is a community and an idea. One that will spur on new types of games"
Err.... not really. Dwarf Fortress was the first game of that type, so it gets the credit for "spur[ring] on new types of games" because it "spur[red] on" the creation of Minecraft.

But yeah Minecraft is fantastic. It would be a LOT better though if Notch would stop going on holiday constantly lol (imagine Terraria or Dwarf Fortress levels of content within Minecraf...

I'd still use my 360 and pay for XBL if MS actually cared about games these days.

Looks like they want to turn the xbox into an HTPC...

Thank you for ruining so many developers this generation Microsoft. Oh and by the way I didn't pay for the copy of Windows I'm using right now (relax, I am entitled to a developer copy for free) and I run Linux on my laptop which was bought without an OS (that was a LOT of hastle by the way) to avoid giving you 1 ...

WHAT! PC gamers actually buy games? :O
-_-

On a serious note though.
CoD4 probably had a lot more players because it had no DRM. I borrowed mine off a flatmate but when MW2 came out only 2 out of the 7 of us bought it (whereas we all played CoD4 from 1 copy).

Haven't bought an Activision game since and never will again. I will probably buy extra copies of Respawn's game when it appears to make up for my previous "stealing" (t...

Oh, so the article is about sales and not how good the games are?

Because otherwise it would be something like:
TW2
AC2
SWBF2
UC2
C&C Red Alert

Also, those sales figures are MILES off. And if you were doing it by sales figures MW2 (compared to MW1) would be on that list and none of the others listed would be.

"and being good at what you do"

Problem is, most studios loose their charm when they become successful because they must pay out to shareholders or are bullied by publishers (who must pay out to shareholders). In the end, the games suffer.

I would say that Bungie are one of the very few western developers who didn't go bad once they got big. But now Activision have them by the balls ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$) so who knows.

"I think it's a big deal no matter who makes it."

What is this logic?
Some game can be made then they can spend millions on marketing to guarantee sales (like Dead Island and Assassin's Creed 1).

It DOES matter who makes a game - always. Every developer has a "feel" that they impart on the game, the specific combination of programmers and designers makes it play "just right", then there's writing, visuals, etc...

_If_ they are going to have swarming AI they will need to develop an in-house engine or use one with low-level control which rules out the CryEngine.

Games made with a proprietary engine tend to "feel" better and get more out of the system, so it's a good thing for gamers if they choose to do that.

The Big Fast Crowds demo runs at a little over 20 fps with the default 5000 instances. It's in the Phyre Engine SDK that I was playing around with at uni last year and is nothing special/new/interesting. And that is on it's own - no other game logic or fancy rendering (apart from the extremely bloated Phyre Engine code).

Also, in 2006 the graphical push (consumers expect good graphics in games for the HD consoles otherwise the game will not sell and millions in develo...

Yeah, I would guess 90% of game "journalists" that seem to write articles that get submitted to n4g barely touched games before halfway through the last gen. Old and young (though most of them are probably 11-17 lol).
