This says it all really:
http://www.google.com/trend...
The search criteria were simply "playstation, xbox"
How does that mean anything at all?
I would suspect that the xbox is a little more "popular", but what has this news got to do with that?
I havn't had to google "playstation" at all in recent years but I have googled xbox a few times (mainly for troubleshooting issues and a quicker way to get to the wikipedia article). So if you took me as just 1 example, xbox is mor...
Halo's campaign is still good. It only stepped down a notch after 1.
CoD4 had a competetive scene on the rise but they screwed that up by turning the series into a yearly release which pulled a lot of the focus away and keeps it from settling on one.
CS:S decreased in popularity because they introduced too many bugs. CS:GO looks to fix that, but it's an entirely new game for some reason (money).
CoD kinda steals the highlight on consoles but on PC there are a lot of MP games regularly played for years and years after relea...
I love city builders :D
New ones are always too dumbed down though so they can have nice graphics, so I'll stick to Dwarf Fortress.
"a giant d*ck slap to the face of all their fans across the world"
They have already done that a few times.
They can't go back to their roots. They don't have the talent (the original staff, employees, creative people) anymore - or the correct mix of them who made such amazing games in the past. Look to Lost Odyssey if you want that, a game doesn't have to be called FF to be FF.
As long as people keep buying it?
I bought it because it had potential... so, wtf. People already paid for it to be more than what it is now. Notch is just becoming incredibly lazy and his programming is actually bad.
I would expect at least another 2 years of continued development, if you look at Terraria and Dwarf Fortress you will notice just how incredible Minecraft can become. If he stops development, one of the Minecraft clone games (the ones on XBL etc...
They only release rankings, no numbers?
:(
@below: yes, better than nothing at all. Steam gives full numbers though.
"What happened to quality 3rd party products? Why do they have to be inferior to 1st party? I don't get it!"
Yeah, it's like they make them bad on purpose. It's always some obvious stupid design flaw every time or a generally idiotic shape :P
Maybe they have to use cheaper plastics so to keep the shape and strength up to par they have to make the casing thicker and then try to mask it with stylization. That would be my guess. I think Son...
"Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero weren't bad games"
This is true ^
I liked Kameo. PDZ was bad compared to the original though, because few of the people who worked on it worked on the original (say hello to Timesplitters). It's like getting IW to make a CoD game... oh wait (at least AV stole the source to re-use).
Metacritic scores mean little. Loads of games above 70 could easily have a score above 90 and it wouldn't really...
"if people voted with their wallet, they considered it better"
They played it before buying it? All 3 million?
"Viva Pinata is the second best thing Rare has ever made (after Banjo-Kazooie)."
:S
Killer Instinct
Donkey Kong Country
GoldenEye 007
Jet Force Gemini
Donkey Kong 64
Perfect Dark
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Are all equally as good or better than Banjo-Kazooie.
Rare were one of the world's most important developers.
Half of them left in 2002 to form Free Radica...
I agree, some of the texture resolutions are a bit too low and look out of place considering how good everything else looks.
They really need another level of detail for some objects when they are viewed up close because it could be said that they may break the immersion and in a AAA title that shouldn't happen so often or do they really deserve their reputation?
Consider the texture seams as one example. Artists sometimes leave them in on occasion at lon...
The author has gone down almost every comment and disagreed lol. Nobody else would have in regards to how bad the site is.
I already avoid buying Ubisoft games these days. What's the point in selling something that they know doesn't work?
He only complains about with Rage sucking with AMD, I'm sure people had no issues waiting for that.... "game" to be patched.
But it worked fine day 1 for my flatmate on his new PC I built him recently: i7 2600k OC ~4.5GHz| 2x AMD 6950HD xFired (Rage only used one anyway)| 8GB decent RAM
Arkham City can have big problems with nVidia/Intel too. It's the software that is flawed. Not sure how though because they are using the Unreal engine lol, ...
Normally, yeh.
But have you played many Bioware games?
"girl-on-girl spanking did not ensue"
! False advertising :O
It's a masterpiece in nearly every aspect.
Problem is, it copies way too much from WoW. So I probably wont touch it.
