I recognise that console text. They are using the disaster "Phyre" engine. Oh dear :(

Their programmers are going to shoot themselves lol. Don't expect much from the game. Though they are clearly bad programmers anyway if they Name_Things_Like_This.

inb4 buggy mess or cancelled project

Not once have I felt the urge to care about the cooking at all :/

I know it's there... but it seems mostly for role players lol because potions are always superior.

But yeah phone hacking lol. Everybody using an Android or iOS device needs to understand that there are a large number of exploits that anybody walking past can use to run their own code on your phone - just keep a look out for the signs, because it WILL happen; regardless of the motives of the hackers. Stealing personal data to make fraudulent credit claims being the main motive, but they can also spread the exploited code to every other Android or iOS ph...

On another point, WTF is up with the typography on that site... my eyes, they bleed lol.

Well that was fun to read :P

Yeah, I really want to catch up on AC because I didn't touch the 2nd one very much. I've seen a lot of the newer ones played and the series does look enticing but I can't be bothered with the sheer count of games they release to fulfil the story when it could have been compressed into better, more memorable games (just Ubisoft grabbing as much money as possible I guess). But AC is still better than 95% of the drivel being made these da...

Yes I can.
"I've had enough Infinity Ward"
becomes
"I've had enough Activision"

That is what the author of the article meant. But of course, the bad image is all going to fall on the IW name and not Activision. Nobody should buy anything with any Activision involvement because they drive developers into the ground and steal millions (just have a quick google).

Seems about right. I would expect the Wii-U to do quite well in the hardcore market too though, the Wii does have a lot of gamer-centric titles if you are into Japanese games. And judging by the Wii-U's rumoured specs it will be a very capable machine, though most likely weaker than what Sony and MS are going to bring to the table - but by a far smaller margine than it was this generation (unless 28nm graphics chips are going to totally blow our socks off, which is probably what MS are in...

Activision*

fixed. Infinity Ward don't actually exist anymore, Activision kept the name to keep the trust it implied - the staff are vastly different and it's staff who make the company. Respawn Entertainment are the ones to watch now but they are with EA which is going to eventually spell disaster too. (why such high profile developers need to sell their soul to a publisher, we will never know)

"Imagine the PS4 launching with God of War, Uncharted, Rachet and Clank, Little Big Planet(or MM's next game),"

That would be me sold. Pitty that FF was RUINED in the RPG department :( and M$ bought out the rights to it's spiritual successor, Lost Odyssey, and aren't giving the go ahead for another because it sold badly in Japan (what did they expect?).

I want to see if MS still have the cheek to charge for online play next gen. Because ...

4GB of RAM would be as bad as going for 512MB of RAM this gen though. There are already PC games that can use well over 3GB of RAM with none of that taken up for nice graphics (indie games) so 8GB should be the minimum to avoid any creative limitation, also there will be a lot more Voxel based engines in the future which require massive amounts of RAM. (I think Crytek made a mention of that somewhere and that they would like next gen consoles to have 8GB at least)

It will not...

Dedis are the way to go for all FPSs. Console or PC, there should always be dedis.

CoD1 deffo still has the best campagin and one of the best campaigns in any FPS ever (up there with Halo:CE & HL1), 2 is great and 4 is also great.

Also, WaW was extremely good for a Treyarch attempt.

I would be a fan of the multiplayer after MW1 if they ditched the overpowered crap and the horrible maps in favour of refined gunplay ...

I still love a good claymore though :P They were insanely OP in MW2 because of scavanger even though they were apparently nerfed from MW1 :/ (they in mw3? I've no intention of buying it so it doesn't matter anyway)

Being aware of it does not stop the game running on hardware in people's homes. It will always be hackable and will always be hacked at some point. It happens to every popular game; it just needs the attention of enough skilled hackers of which there are tens of thousands and lots of them will be into gaming. PS3 and 360 can both have custom code run on them while playing on PSN or XBL so it's just a matter of time, or somebody will reverse engineer the networking and man-in-the-middl...

"It would be nice to be able to play a game straight away and worry about downloading it later"

Steam has pre-download, then you get a little 12KB patch or something at midnight. I am fairly sure that solution would be appointed by Sony and MS if they had to move to digital only. However, it might make 3rd party developers/publishers fear for piracy because there would be large swathes of content on people's HDDs available for reverse engineering (though 24-hour...

"Unfortunately, as with many mega-popular titles such as Call of Duty, you’re bound to attract both good-willed players, and players who are in it to ruin the experience for the rest."

More serious hacks will likely make an appearance soon as people get a handle on reverse engineering the game, sadly.

Forgot Brütal Legend in that last paragraph, too late to edit. It's good to see games that aim to be fun and have some cleverly spaced & constructed content while they are at it, and not with just set piece after set piece (the reason for X game with 5 hours gameplay costing full price) either.

Though most of my criticism above excludes the Wii because I haven't been able experience its games' single player prowess as of yet. (it's the "mario kar...

Good article. Just noticed that my most enjoyed steam games cannot be completed: CS:S, Killing Floor, Mount & Blade, Terraria, BF:BC2 (didn't touch the single player), Sim City 4, L4D, TF2, Garry's mod etc.

Then there's also a lot of time invested in LoL, Minecraft, Dwarf Fortress and BF3 - more games that cannot be completed (again, ignoring BF's stupid campaign). And Skyrim, I have no intention of "finishing" it :P

The latter h...
