everytime an update goes through, there is a bunch of sony fanboys claiming it breaks.
I have no doubt that there would be some sporadic issues with it, as there are with any software updates. but it is not the "shy is falling" as some would have us believe. Out of all the people I know with a 360, and all those on my friends list, not a single one has had a 360 bricked or even an issue from any update.

Quit trying to tie this to being good news for the ps3 in some obscure way. simply put, spiderman 3 movie earning are not related to gaming or technology, so it does not belong here.
games will determine it. market conditions are completely different now than they were when ps2 and dvd.
most of these analysts aren't bad, but to say it will will becuase of bluray is just silly.
if it will win, it will be because of a combimation of getting the exclusives back in their product, and making an online service that is on par with XBL. and pls don't start talking about home, home does very little to actually improve what is lacking with sony's onlin...

large pre-orders of games won't help them if there are not more people buying the system.
