I always looked at Nintendo as a complimentary console ever since game cube to be honest. People buy Nintendo for their exclusives and most hardcores get another system to pair with it.

With this price drop Nintendo is in the same situation the were in with the 3DS... 3DS vs Vita... Vita is technically superior in every way and has a decent library of games... 3DS got a price drop plus a boat load of first party titles and took off... Same scenario different system now.

If you are playing a demo 20 to 30 times and still dont know you want it you should be renting the game lol...

All Nintendo has to do is give them a first party franchise like they did with Retro... If Plat Games made a Starfox or something else to that extent it would put them on the map... More people would be interested in buying games from them and it would increase sales of previous titles.

Few of the bigger third party titles are hitting the Wii U like Rayman, Watchdogs, Batman, COD, Splinter Cell....Other than EA titles the Wii U is getting quite a few third party titles.

Alot of the huge third party titles are sometimes second party or first party titles exclusive to each console...People underestimate Mario Kart as an exclusive title... On the Wii Alone it sold 30 million copies.. that is more than COD combined on the ps3 and 360...

Price says it all .. it drives a lot of peoples purchases.

Wii U is 100 cheaper than the PS4 and 200 cheaper than the X1... You can buy a Wii U plus a Pro Controller and an additional game for the same price as a PS4 almost... Keep in mind both the PS4 and X1 will require an additional 60 for online and an additional 60 for a game.

Tons of other value points below...

100 less than PS4 and 200 less than X1 ... Also includes backwards compatibility for previous controllers and games, tablet, motion controls, Free Online play, packed in game, and Miiverse...

I wish it was the same scale as the 3ds price drop of roughly 70 dollars... but I guess this works also..

Eliminating the basic SKU should help a lot also ... They prolly didnt release a White Wii U Deluxe so that there wouldnt be any confusing during the holiday season....

Actually this was made to hold people over until ZELDA U.. They pretty much said this on Nintendo direct.... they said that they understand people want new Zelda but it will take a while so we are giving you WW HD plus a 3ds zelda in the meantime...

A lot of people didnt buy the game cube also .. so this could be a completely new experience for them.. This game is pretty damn fun / impressive as well.

A lot of people missed the game cube and never played this game.

What new game has retro been working on? I havent even heard of what they could be working on after DK.

I get what he is saying.. In Nintendos first try at HD they are making some pretty impressive stuff... Granted it is not Last of us ... but it took those devs what 5 to 6 years to get to that point?

Even tho the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube didnt sell well Nintendo still made a profit on the hardware.. The reason they have survived so long obviously in part is due to their first party titles being amazing.. but people forget Nintendo RARELY sells hardware at a loss like the other gaming giants.

Nintendo could just as easily drop the price of the Deluxe SKU 100 dollars and take a loss on each console than just flat out drop the gamepad... It would be easier to save face by lowering the price... At 250 it would be a HUGE bargain and could really take off with all the first party game releases.

It worked for the 3DS when it wasn't selling well after 6 months... People thought the 3ds was a gimmick and most complained the 3d effect gave people headaches... yet it st...

Who's to say that Platinum could have released the Wonderful 101 or even got it published for the other platforms? Nintendo was the only company that would publish Bayonetta 2.. Maybe the development of the Wonderful 101 was contingent on that agreement?

No matter what happens with the Wii U people will be complaining about something... Last few months the complaint has been games... After Luigi U , Pikimin 3, and Wonderful 101 / Rayman Challenges App people are finding r...

The concept of using a portable device and a console is what I was referring to. That concept was not Sonys idea in general.

Sony barely executed remote play on the ps3 with the vita... Every single review along with first hand experience with it has been lackluster... Lets first sit back and see FIRST HAND what it can do before we declare it a success.

I am not going to trust a stage demo that Sony showed us of remote play with a ps4 and vita until I actuall...

Gamecube had the option to use the Gameboy advanced in conjunction with the Gamecube...

Last I checked that came out before the psp and ps3...

I didnt have a problem with the capacity of the deluxe because I had a spare harddrive laying around.. So I didnt mind paying 50 less to get more space..

Also people are blowing up the amount of space on the deluxe too much .. I have downloaded every single demo possible from the eshop and have a handful of game titles downloaded like Trine 2, Nano Assault, Mudd Deluxe I also have various virtual console titles and saved game data from a bunch of my physical media games... ...

Not to hate .. but how does this look any different than Crysis multiplayer?

I actually read that they kept all the game play physics, mechanics, and animations the same because it would have taken up too much time to redo them to work with 60fps (All the old stuff is 30fps)... The 30 fps has less to do with what the system can do and more to do with dev time limitations...

Bayonetta and DK Returns have been confirmed to be 1080p @ 60fps.

Could they advertise more yes .. But they are doing a lot more now than they have ever done in the past. At some point you have to chalk up the failure in sales to the appeal of the system.

We need to wait until Holiday time to get a real feel on if Nintendo is doing enough... Between summer and now I think they have done a whole lot with all their trade show booths and their in store demos along with their social media push.
