You make all very valid points. But you have to realize something. N4G is an extremely Sony biased site.
It isn't really about a debate. It is more about if you don't bow down to the PS3 you are always wrong and everyone disagrees with you.
I have been a PC gamer for many years and I also own all the consoles that you mentioned. You just have to realize that a PS3 fanboys train of thought is never in the realm of logic or reason.
It is simply...
You try and insult my intelligence bc I bring up valid issues and you have no competant rebuttle.
This is the typical 13 year old Sony fanboy way. With their head way in the clouds and no grasp of logic or reason.
JokesOnYou. Although I do believe that a lot of the core audience that bought a PS2 at the $200 price range for games such as MAdden and GTA are more apt to buy a 360 at the Cores price range.
I feel that both the PS3 and 360 are out of the higher percentages of gamers hands at even over a $300 range.
I do appreciate the reponse but this is Megatron. Optimus Prime is just as cool though.
No it does not make me happy. Although I did like the movie. I am actually format neutral.
It just pisses me off that these rabid Sony fanatics think Bluray is the best just bc it is in the PS3 and that it must win.
Bubble for you Mr_Peg.
bc it is cheaper for them to produce. And overall consumers that buy DVD players choose HDDVD.
HDDVD offers more features than Bluray and the disks for HDDVD will now be 51 Gigs. HDDVD is also a benefit to movie producers bc HDDVDs can be stamped on regular DVD lines with minimal upgrades.
Sony introduced Bluray onto the market a year after HDDVD. If Sony would not have been so greedy there would already be a new "standard" being HDDVD. Initially S...
on POG. He is right everyone of you in here stating that these movies will show up on Bluray also such as Genki. And you M3ercenary give it up.
Paramount is basing their choice on HDDVD versus Bluray "standalone players". Which is what they should do. These people will definately be buying HD movies.
Nobody knows who bought a PS3 for movies. Sony is only using the PS3 fanbase to win the format war. Less than 13% of people watch movies on a console....
I'm sure that all the Sony fanboys will determine the outcome of the format war.
You idiots probably make up less than 1% of total Bluray movie sales. It doesn't matter if you use your allowance money to buy 3 or 5 movies a year.
Maybe you should go cut the lawn so you can buy six movies a year instead of 5.
Yeah boycott Bluray, that way Sony is sure to learn their lesson. By ceasing production.
would be more hardcore like Sam Fisher. Instead of rolling around on the floor with other men in a thong.
And that is some really impressive A.I. I guess the enemy soldiers forgot how many statues they had in their courtyard.
HDDVD was on the market long before Bluray. Sony persuaded all the companies with promises of the PS3 for quicker adoption of the format.
Now that PS3 is failing at this and people are still buying more HDDVD standalones companies like Paramount realize this.
Sony started the format war. If they hadn't released Bluray almost a year afeter HDDVD we could all be enjoying one format right now.
Thank you Sony for screwing all hardcore movie afficiana...
Actually I do care about things like framerates bc they affect gameplay.
I have been a PC gamer for over 10 years and I always want the high end graphics card and a lot of system ram to get optimal games performance.
Why should I pay more for hardware that is going to give me the same games at shoddier performance. Any fool knows there is a huge difference bw 60 and 30 FPS. It affects everything. Physics, collision detection, animation,..etc.etc.
Universal and Paramount are huge studios. Universal being one of the largest in the industry.
For format adoption it will still take a long time though. The players must reach a pricepoint bw $100 and $200. I think Toshiba is going to do just this at Christmas time.
If HDDVD players reach that pricepoint this year and with HDDVD now having more studio support things are going to be looking pretty bleak for Bluray.
Especially with Toshiba puting ...
I guess Paramount got sick of the PS3 slanting the format war. If standalone players only counted (which is the way it should be) HDDVD would have already won.
This is the beginning of the end for Bluray.
Sony has lost every format war to date. So they fought dirty with Bluray. Too bad cheaters never win in the end.
Justice prevails.
bc almost all multiplatform games run better on the 360. Whether it be better aliasing and/or framerate. The latest multiplatform games that prove this are Madden, NCAA, NHL '08, All- PRO 2K8. and Virtua Fighter 5.
Not to mention that a lot of multiplatform games are released a significant time later on PS3. The latest one being GRAW 2.
Deny it all you want and call me an xbot. I am only stating the facts.
I totally agree with your comment. This new "arcade" model is solely designed to compete with the Wii.
Sony fanboys don't understand that a large majority of the gaming demographic are casual gamers where price comes first. Which is why the Wii is so successful.
Hardcore gamers and even diehard "fanboys" make up a very small percentage of the user base. Casual gamers that just buy a console to play Madden every year or the GTA games will su...
then I recommend the 360 bc over the next few months you will be able to pick up Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and Lost Odyssey.
If you prefer to Wait Beyond then I recommend PS3 for Final Fantasy which will come out in late '08 or early '09 seeing as how it is at an estimated 13% completion.
would be a great bundle title. Halo 3 would be even better though.
The worst part of Bioshock? It ends. You'll want more to see and do. Irrational put art and intellect above and beyond schlock of the common game. They accomplished something wonderful.
haters out there who classify it as Halo 2.5 need to have their eyes checked. All the shots in this article look fantastic.
All the vibrant colors in all the vegetation. The smoke tracers from the rocket shots. It is definately a big step up from Halo 2.
I am also glad to read that the AI is even smarter in this one. I already thought that Halo 2 had great AI so this should be even more interesting.
don't understand all the bashing of Halo 3's graphics. All the single player shots look great.
A lot of colors and crisp textures.
I realize that the art style isn't ultra-realistic. But it is definately unique and beautiful.

These figures are pretty skewed however. This is because of the 1.5 million Blu-ray players in the States, 1.4 million are PlayStation 3s and only 100,000 are standalone units.
By contrast, there are 150,000 Xbox 360 HD DVD players and approximately the same number of standalone players, bringing the total count to about 300,000. If we compare standalone to standalone, HD DVD has Blu-ray beat. It should also b...
