$250-$300 for a handheld just isn't a great deal, no matter what the new tech is imo. Rather have a full console for $50 more.
I will say though that I think the 3DS has some awesome games in the pipeline.
These are some of the reasons why I have now chosen to rent it first instead of drop the $60.

If platforming is to be a decent portion of the game, it needs to be done right. Same goes for shooting.

but I played a game of Headhunter the other day and everyone was hovering around 5-6 skulls a couple of minutes in, and then in a split second the manly voice "GAME OVER!" hit.
Some dude had 25pts/skulls and that was it. I can't think of a conceivable way that he would have gotten almost 20 skulls and scored them in a heartbeat like that. Suppose it's possible, but I aint buyin' it.

Kinect not becoming the next 32X (or failed peripheral for that matter) isn't for Microsoft to decide. It's up to the paying consumers.
We all saw how quickly they canned their new phone... if teh salezzz aren't there for Kinect why would it be any different.
It's fun when it's picked once in a great while. Not every other game... I played most of the day yesterday and I literally had 7 Infection matches in a row.
The game starts, guys run to a corner and camp and just wait to pick you off until someone finally gets through to end the round. Rinse, repeat, game over. LAME.

Enslaved even being mentioned in the same breath as Uncharted other than for the simple fact that they're both video games is ridiculous. Not even close by a mile.
But, I must be blind or just wasn't paying attention as I downloaded the 360 demo and had zero screen tearing. Haven't tried the PS3 version yet.
The platforming was boring and had no challenge. Also, Monkey is a terrible character imo....
This is going to bring back an awful lot of wonderfully gory memories.

Whether you like the games themselves or not, PS3 exclusive nearly always deliver.
There are so many games coming this holiday season that holding off for some extra polish (or in this case it could be to not compete and follow the Mass Effect 2 strategy) is no biggie.
That means LBP2 in January & Killzone 3 in February. Good start to 2011.
I saw Halo 1 & 2 both at Best Buy the other day and was thinking about picking them up. the Halo 2 box art says it plays on the 360, but CE doesn't mention anything and is $9.99 instead of the $15 it goes for on Live.
Will the disc based CE play on the 360, or will I need to get the download version?
